  1. Lubys and Texas were sued many years back for that reason. Woman claimed she lost both parents because she was forced to leave her pistol in the car.
  2. I cannot remember the TCA number, I'd have to look at the sign again. But I do believe it's a felony, and loss of right to own firearms goes with it. I would not want to be caught in a gun free building. Originally, there were conditions that had to be met before one could ban weapons on business property. Security, metal detectors, etc, but this was dropped. I have mixed feelings on this. I agree with property or business owners having the right to set rules but that gets into a gray area, what if the owner is a bigot? I just don't patronize businesses that post or publicly state firearms are unwelcome. Hell, I hate using walmart because of their stance on guns.
  3. have not tried these. I tend to stay away from universal holsters. but this one is popping up on my accounts. Praetorian Holster - best holster for seated draws (dinosaurized.com) 39.99 each to save you some time on this.
  4. Don't believe I have ever bought a belt at walmart. not all of my belts are gunbelts true, but all are quality leather. the belt is not my problem LOL. After losing 30 lbs I'm still fat and have two new belts that are too large. Still have issues with too much belly and a full size pistol makes it worse.
  5. Yep, my sling bag has extra AR mags and is way too heavy for EDC. And it SCREAMS tactical bag,,,mainly because it is. For EDC i am thinking something smaller, maybe even a belt bag. Bigger than a phone case but smaller than a tablet bag. Something just big enough for a full sized pistol, wallet, and normal pocket stuff. It needs to be useful for pistol without saying "I'm a ho;ster". If I find a design I like I'll post it once it's done.
  6. That's something I hadn't thought of. Good idea! I don't know if I could wear one all day though most would have no problem.
  7. I work with a man who wears a belt and suspenders, always found that odd myself. not knocking suspenders, never tried them. If my pants or shorts have belt loops, I'm wearing a belt. Overalls with and inside the bib holster attachment has crossed my mind more than once, but I could carry a S&W 29 in the front pocket so really not necessary. To be fair, I don't wear sweats or coaches shorts out anywhere so I always have a belt on when I'm out. To me, a belly band would be the best in that instance though. Had to wear a hernia wrap after surgery and I don't think it would be comfortable, so back to fanny pack. LOL
  8. So how we carry with our American male physique has come up in another thread. I'm older and have a big belly and noassatol syndrome. Belts are extremely important. I've seen a youtuber advocating holsters that can be used in sweatpants with no belt. This is laughable, even when I was young and had a waist, any pistol I would consider for daily carry would drop sweats to the floor before I got across the room I'm sure. Even the 9oz plus ammo Browning 25 would pull my sweats down now. I applaud the return of the fanny pack to service but I wouldn't want to use that now. I have the idea to build myself a medium size cross body bag. Even looked at several patterns from my favorite pattern sellers. nothing has made the cut yet but I do see a few that could be modded to work. I have also considered wearing a vest made for CCW with the holster pocket inside. With a lighter pistol this could work but having to unzip a pocket then draw would be a hinderance that could cost a life. The cross body I have in my head would not have a zippered pocket for the holster. We will see what I can come up with. The belt I have in mind (and cut) will be two layers of 5-6 ounce with a third, narrower, layer used as stiffener. Just have to get situated where I can finish it. I built my first shoulder rig for another customer who is very large. I think this is a great way to carry if you can wear a cover garment. But it has to fit right. I am told they are uncomfortable but I think it's the best way to carry a full size handgun. I know we have delved into this before but hey, all things come around again.
  9. beautiful piece. Nice score, congratulations! And nice work restoring the wood.
  10. I used to hunt geese with a bolt action 12. Mossberg built mine for Sears or Western Auto. I have a soft spot for them. GLWS The soft spot is in my right shoulder, damned thing had some serious recoil
  11. If KyleB doesn't take it, I'll send you a message.
  12. I live in Shelbyville. I could meet you in town after 4:00 this evening if you want to make the trip. Let me kn ow and I'll send you a PM with the details.
  13. Nice collection! Have let all of my snubbys get away. Really miss my Taurus 650.
  14. I've had to reign myself in several times on this thread. And I am usually quite free with my opinions. Civil discussion with people who do not know me requires restraint. But I have mostly enjoyed this and learned a few things. I believe we should all pray for the days to come.
  15. the problem is the truth that is surrounded by fiction. Pure fiction is harmless.
  16. I am quite convinced that you are right on this one.
  17. to quote everyone who met Jake McCandles in Big Jake..."I thought you were dead" is what I'll hear
  18. Surprised I missed this. Hope you are doing well and catching up. I don't have a big collection, just a few odd pieces. Mostly odd since I like odd things. Told my wife when I die, sell everything she doesn't want. Not giving them to anyone so none of the kids will get "more" than another. Part of my life insurance. Yeah, they are a useable investment. Wish I were in a position to buy, a Wingmaster is on my list. Used my hunting buddy's on rabbit many years ago. Good luck and enjoy!
  19. Literally. Geography, History, world politics, and even a couple of personal attacks. Luckily nothing heated LOL
  20. if a mother breaks in, she will be arrested. If an armed mother breaks in she will most likely be shot. Who the criminal is makes no difference. A human life is a human life. there are good and bad mothers, fathers, children, no matter what race or belief. No, I do not wish to shoot anyone, ever. I do however hold a hard line, if you would steal from me you would take food from my children (who are all grown and feed themselves, just reference) if you would take food from my children you have no respect for life. I believe in fighting for what belongs to you. How hard did the Palestinians fight the Egyptians who treated them no better than the Israelis?
  21. I cannot see what you are quoting, but if you want to leave your house open to whomever without vetting them,,,be my guest. as far as casualties from razor buoys, if you break the law you pay a price, just like if they tried to break into your house. Whether they need to be revised or not we have laws regarding immigration, they should be enforced. If you are feeling guilty about European expansion into America, you can return your land to me. I have enough native blood to claim it. As I said before, Israel exists, countries expand, that is the way it works and the PLO and Hamas have constantly attacked Israel. Part of the expansion has been to halt incursions into Israel by making buffer zones.
  22. closing the barn door after the cow got out? another lesson for us to support our rights.
