  1. Sunday morning, May 4th 1969 Canadian wilderness, Earth: by nightfall the Stanley Cup would be hard won by Montreal- but before that time would pass, a sonic boom would rattle the tree-line as the Enterprise hastily broke into low altitude atmosphere-her hull badly damaged from the time slip….
  2. Caught in the rapture of her chemical induced glee, she laughed through tears as she watched footage of the subsequent tidal waves on her Hello Kitty themed phone screen.
  3. Same here! And a lifetime of THAT boys & girls is how you end up with a 3-4 digit firearm collection, most of which you’ve never shot. Someday I will be reduced to the greatest estate sale ever!!
  4. In truth, Jill had been a walking menagerie of phobias and that ever lurking sadness she shouldered everywhere she went until…
  5. I thank God that you had Doctors with their eye on the ball. I’ve seen a number of people die of septicemia that originated from atypical abscess & related etiology during my medical career. It is one of the truly wonderful things about the age in which we live- our level of healthcare. My Lovely wife of 5 years has been quadriplegic since ‘91. When we met, she was using adaptive equipment to waterski, rock climb, kayak, and bicycle. 100 years ago, she would have died alone in a cold dark sanitarium and maladies like your wife just soldiered through would not have been survivable. It can’t be said enough times in this life, again- Glory be to God. Enjoy each day.
  6. Um, insert furry horned hat guy meme here. It’s the Shaman! Durka-Durka! Okay, that’s all I’ve got….
  7. Howdy fellow TGOers! Well my long gun collection went all NATO on me, leaving me with an awesome opportunity for you AK, SKS, and Mini-Thirty owners(did I miss anyone?). The first of the ammo cans revealed- 1040 rounds of Wolf 122gr. Hollow Points! I remember testing a half mag of these with a brand new ballistic gel block that I had bought. I was testing for feed & function mainly- which was perfect of course but just a few rounds turned my block into something like a flat dead jellyfish. Man, do they make a big hole. Outstanding for Home Defense or hunting I imagine. Anyhoo, I looked on Ammoseek.com for the cheapest out there- which is 79.9 cents ppr plus shipping and tax. You can have mine for a mere .50 cents ppr(price per round) and I only ask that you buy in lots of at least 200. **[.45 cents per round if ya buy the whole 1040 count lot & you can have the container of loose mixed ball/hp/match included!]** I can meet locally Powell/Karns/Knoxville. I took a screenshot on Ammoseek last night-in case anyone doubts my quote of the latest market price. PM me if ya want em! —I forgot to mention, I also pulled out some loose bagged mixed ball/hp/match with this lot that I will be giving away with purchase. I am simply making space and don’t need them.
  8. Can’t believe you still have this, if only I didn’t have it already(and every other model of Tavor) I would be all over it. Mine is FDE and ODG was impossible to find when I was looking. GLWS!!
  9. YES! Definitely order the letter from Smith on this one! Very appreciable condition
  10. I almost never see Rosewood utilized well or at all in kitchenware. That is art indeed!
  11. That screams heirloom! You look at it and just know there’s never going to be anything else made that way again. Very happy for you!
  12. I do all of my custom tunes with a combination of tungsten weight swaps (incrementally) & Sprinco color coded varying strength springs. Generally this is economic and flexible enough to find your sweet- spot with minimal left over parts.
  13. 3 words: Roller- Delayed- Blowback. In the Gun world, is any other kind of action sexier?
  14. That is the scariest thing about this so-called Administration. If you think about the known list, that’s really saying something. It’s a relatively simple but adamant playbook as they continue to erode our constitution. They have no reservations with overreach, merrily ignore the different branches of government, chronically deny any wrongdoing & simply double-down when caught, then consistently weaponize agencies against any citizens who call them out.
  15. Upon close inspection & deep reflection I think that Henry has meticulously designed the ugliest modern production revolver out there. Is the price point compensating for the baked in calculation of poor sales for the run? If this were indicative of the wondrous variety and style of firearms today, I think that I would rather collect lost tackle by the lake. (Okay, sure- I’ve done that-but still) It’s beyond fugly- I could make a dang chart as to why.
  16. I miss the days of mil-surplus stores everywhere and Gun Shows that were actually Gun Shows. Nowadays I mostly just order on the net as that’s where most of the only deals are anymore, but there is something so hollow in that. I miss the smell (a lovely faint essence of cosmoline, gun leather, and cigars) and the tactile nature of it all. I remember when my favorite mail was the latest Shotgun News.
  17. YES PLEASE!! And strangely enough she looks even better today. (My wife & I go to a lot of SCI-CONS, she knows freakin’ everybody and always introduces me ).
  18. I picked up one of these while waiting for the cmr-30 to come to market years ago. This is easily one of the most underrated light-weight Bullpups out there! GLWS!
  19. I myself have used never dull extensively on nickel plated restoration items with great luck, but full disclosure only once on a firearm- an antique Colt. It did go well for me but your mileage may vary. I didn’t know that about the zinc layer in nickel guns, thanks derf!
  20. Well great now you’ve made a hypocrite out of me & I want a detective hi-power clone when I can find one… in Stainless! While I was looking around for that I couldn’t stop myself from ordering the newest version of SAR 2000 in stainless (CZ 75 clone with Tanfoglio influences). So much for me no longer being interested in “project guns”.
  21. I’ve never had any problems with Blazer brass & I’ve shot about 4k rounds of it in various pistols and subs. I’m that lucky guy I guess that never really had any trouble out of their aluminum either, just prefer the brass for the obvious potential of reloads. Thanks hipower!
  22. Again, the wisdom of Grayfox54! I want to say the the problem is rooted in Gen Z with a level of disconnect from each-other that is unprecedented in history and brought on by near infinite screen time and “free-range parenting”. All I really know is that as a people, we don’t seem to SEE each-other anymore or really ever be in the moment. Ever notice that in any given room of 10 or more people- that someone will be focused on a screen? There is no situational awareness but also no real interpersonal awareness because so many people don’t come out of their own bubble and share with each-other face to face. I miss our belief systems that helped hold society in place. Allowing Religion, Patriotism, Marriage, Community & Hometown Pride to be vilified really shattered our foundation as a better people.
  23. All hail the wisdom of Grayfox54! I can’t help but think of every bit of tech that I use that is biometric integrated that when I actually use it outside of perfect household like conditions (hiking, in the rain, sweaty/dirty hands, etc) — it all just fails & I have to stop what I’m doing to feed it my time and often great lengths to achieve function. Can anyone tell me how that tech can safely translate in a personal survival or self-defense situation?
  24. This has been a very intriguing thread to me as a Browning hi-power is one of the only unchecked boxes in my collection. Overall, I gotta go with hipower on this one and hold out for the SA35. Girsan didn’t do a bad job on this one, but I’m getting to be a real gun snob with age I guess. Refinements just kind of “speak to me” as opposed to when I was younger & excited by everything as a project.
