1.   But, your missing the significance-- the cigar qualifies you for a high capacity mag. Poor guy on the left side doesn't even qualify for a magazine...........
2. 3-2-1.   Three hours in the smoke. Two hours in foil. Last hour exposed and sauced in the smoker. If your using a grill, try indirect heat for a couple hours. I would not want to cook ribs at a temp over 225*   Rub the ribs with mustard and then coat with the rib rub of your choice. Spray with a apple juice/butter mixture while cooking to keep things from drying out.
3. No doubt it would steelharp. Problem is, I've gotta pay for a set of tires and a Disney trip in January first. Then I'll officially be in the market. If you still have it in October, I'm game.
4.
Another gun that I would recommend is a Sig p220. It is the best of both worlds DA and SA.
I like that idea. I like the 220r a lot. Anyone have personal feedback on either of these for concealed carry with a jacket?
5. I will more than likely carry iwb. I only carry outside when wearing a suit. I've been using thesis holsters lately. Because of that product, server all holsters from my "box of holsters" are posted for sale at the moment.
6. All, I'm looking for suggestions for a winter carry .45. I love the 1911 platform for the range but I prefer dao for carry. I have a XDs for summer carry but I know I can get away with more in the winter. Glocks typically don't "line up" right for me but I am considering a still considering the 30S with several hundred rounds training ammo. My question, what else should I be considering? Is there any other options out there in the "slightly larger than subcompact .45 market". I've had the smith m&p 45c and I still consider it a fine weapon and a viable option. Thanks in advance, Ben
7. http://m.wcyb.com/news/quaker-steak-lube-cook-stops-driver-charged-with-dui/26817086 Hopefully that works....
8. Happy to help if possible. Let the dogs out--post some info on the guy.
9. Just wanted to pass some information on regarding these holsters. I ordered my holster on April 14th and received the holster on June 9th. Not the fastest turn around but i would consider it acceptable. I purchased the keydex pocket holster for a Kahr PM9. Most will agree that pocket carry is not the best way to carry a concealed firearm. However, there are times when i cannot conceal a firearm with traditional methods. That's the purpose of this gun and holster. Deep concealment. At first glance, i was impressed by the quality and the retention. This holster will pass the shake test (holster the gun, hold it upside down in the holster and shake without supporting the weapon). At the same time, it is very quick to deploy. As far as i know, Alabama holster is the only company to feature a tab to "push off" the holster with your thumb. This was one of the main selling points for me. After carrying this rig for a few days, i will say its heavy. That's not the fault of the holster but it's the price you pay for a 9mm that can be pocket carried without tacticool pants. Overall, i am very satisfied with the holster. With a LCP or the like, you would probably have no issue carrying without "dressing around the gun." As for me, this method will fill a hole in my carry line-up. I don't plan to carry like this often but i love the option. With summer in full swing, its great to drop a 9mm with 6+1 in your pocket and go about your business without alerting anyone. http://www.alabamaholster.com/
10. I have no knowledge of the business mentioned here. However, to me, the BBB Is a crock of sh*t. Basically, as a business owner, you get the "opportunity" to pay xxx amount of dollars to tell your side of a story to the BBB. They will believe you or not--no real loyalty unless you put big money on the line--which is done frequently.
11. I'm just really surprised this is being debated on the TGO. I pray anti-gunners don't use a video like this to demonstrate the actions of us self-proclaiming "responsible gun owners" I don't see a positive reason to post this unless it's to show how quickly things can happen at a range and why it's important not to develop tunnel vision. However, if that was the intent, I would think it would have been mentioned in the original post.....
12. Is there more context here that I saw in the video? Is this military range? Police range? Maybe I'm off base to assume this is a typical gun club or public range. Regardless, I'd rather stand behind or beside someone shooting unless there is a damn good reason to do otherwise. I'm not seeing it at a public/private range.
13. Why keep shooting when someone has clearly wondered down range. I won't disagree--he's stupid. But he doesn't need to be bleeding and stupid if it can be easily avoided.
14.
On this subject, any TGO members own or work for a roofing company in East TN?
I don't own or work for one but we have several we use as subcontractors. Pm me a more specific location (I'm on tapatalk right now) and I can get you a few that we have had success with.
15. So--if the op is a college student looking for information, why would he/she not offer a email address ending in ".edu"? If so, I'll fill out the survey......
16. If you have Facebook, "like" WCYB, WJHL and Times News. You will get the daily run down without paying for a subscription. If you don't have facebook, get one and add these three pages. A light coat of aluminum foil over the monitor should protect you from the NSA
17. I'm not a fan of spray paint. However, i do like an AR that isn't totally black. Picture below.. I can find the furniture supplier if you want. They have several options. For what its worth, my walls aren't pink. It just looks that way in the picture :surrender:
18. Sullivan county is a good area. Lots of meth heads but they typically take care of themselves. Pharmacies are the only areas i am on "high alert/paranoid" because of frequent robberies. I've been here for the last 25 years and i can count the number of close calls on one hand. None of which were very serious. Just avoid the "outskirts" of Hawkins county.   As for the LEO's and shooting, most of the Sullivan county and Kingsport officers i have encounter have been very  gun friendly. In the county, i don't think you should have any problem shooting on your land with a proper backstop. The sheriff of Sullivan county is very accessible, especially right now during election time. Fire off a email asking for his opinion. I bet you will get a very timely response and it would be nice to have on hand in the future. Good Luck and let me know if i can help in any way.
19. I love stories like this. Nice show of respect. :usa: :usa:   My wife and i were on vacation and visited a local watering hole one evening. I noticed a older gentleman across the bar in a leather jacket with military patches. He was sitting alone so i told the bar tender that we wanted to pick up his tab. About a hour later, after a modest 2 beers, the man found out his tab was covered. He walked over and sat down next to me and my wife. We spent the next two hours listening to incredible stories of his past. It was almost like he had waited years for someone to listen to him.   Around 1:00, we parted ways. It was a very moving experience for me. It was much like talking to either of my deceased grandfathers who served. Then, to my surprise, the manager came over to talk to us. He said the guy had came to that bar alone for the last five years and had never talked to anyone. He covered our dinner and bar tab and thanked us for taking the time to talk to the "old grumpy vet".    These guys are out there. They hold a great deal of history that will be gone in a few years. I encourage anyone who can to engage a vet in conversation. They often provide a good example of what being an "American" is all about!
20. With warm weather upon us, i would normally switch to pocket carry when i have to tuck my shirt in (5 days a week). However, this year, i have been trying out a tuckable holster and keeping a .45 on my side. So, do you think the average person would notice the belt clip required for this? It's like the belt clip to no where. It sticks out to me but, i'm looking for it and i know what it represents. In the last 5 years, i can only remember seeing one person carrying with a crossbread tuckable. This was when i was at church. Due to a power outage, the service was held in a local high school. I think i was paying more attention to potential firearms because i was unarmed. I didn't know how the change of venue affected the carry laws. So, i ask you, does the single or double belt clip alert you? What about the average person? I am permitted to carry at work but i prefer to keep it very concealed because not everyone has that ability. Thoughts? Picture below for reference. The pictured Nike dry-fit polo shirt provide the most challenge so i snapped a picture with one of those on. Unfortunately, i have more logo'ed shirts in this variety than any other. They are the hardest to conceal in but also the most comfortable in the summer........ Also-- my first "selfie" so don't hate :surrender:
21. had one. Too small to manipulate for me. Well built but it was a solution for a problem i didn't currently have. Trust me, i really tried to like it. These guns were on the list to own when possible. Now they are on the list of guns to own when all other categories are filled. At that point, it will be a novelty.
22. wonder how it compares to the size of a Karh PM9................
