  Will do. It will be a few days before i can pick it up. Can't wait. I've been blessed to have several firearms but i cannot wait to get this one in the safe.

I don't know how to start this. Very emotional topic but i feel that i can share it here among folks who would understand. A couple months ago, my great uncle (87) passed away after a battle with cancer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and distinguished himself with meritorious service with the 45th Infantry Division. He was awarded the bronze star along with other medals and was honorably discharged in 1956.   He was like a third grandfather. Due to geographical challenges, he was much closer to me than many other family members. He taught me how to shoot. My first round was fired on his farm in the hills of North East TN.   Before he passed, i expressed to my grandmother how much one particular gun in his collection meant to me. It was a 9mm. When i shot it around age 10, i had no idea of the significance. When my grandmother inquired about this gun on my behalf, she was told that it had been sold. Over the years, the gun in question served by my great uncles right hand. It was the gun found under the newspaper on the coffee table. He had many guns but this one was special to him. As i aged, he finally told me the story of the "9mm." This particular gun was brought back from Germany after WWII by a friend of his. It was a German P-38.    After he passed, i would have been pleased with the opportunity to purchase any of his guns from the family. Unfortunately, that opportunity never came. However, my grandmother called me tonight and everything changed. She told this story to another family member only to find out that he had purchased the gun from my great uncle. He graciously gave the firearm to her for me to pick up. For this i cannot thank him enough. It's not only a damn cool piece of history--it's a family heirloom that i will treasure as long as i live.   I don't think i can say anything to this individual to express how much i appreciate the generosity shown during a very tough time. I greatly miss my uncle and my friend but i this gesture will allow me to keep his memories close whenever i pick up this firearm.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh5UevdKIk4

I feel dry fire practice is way underrated. If you don't have snap caps, let me know. I can send you some in .45. It really helps.   Just be safe. They are a great tool but separate yourself from live ammo and loaded mags while practicing.

I'll admit, I'm a j-frame fan. I love the simplicity and reliability. After several thousand rounds of practice, i feel confident in handling and firing this platform. But--i just fell in love again this weekend.... I have a 637 (chief special) that i picked up off a fellow member a this winter. Since the hammer is exposed, i carry this one IWB/OWB most of the time. Given the method of carry, i figured i could get away with something larger than the factory boot grip. I ordered these Hogue Monogrips last week and i couldn't be happier. Accuracy improved drastically and i didn't give up much--if anything--in concealability. In addition to that, i think it looks much better (in my opinion) So i say all that to say this; if you've considered aftermarket grips for your j-frame--do it!

Being the previous owner, I can promise you must have a gun belt for the 30. I tried to resist for a while but after having one, I would never consider going without again.

I have one gun that is unfired--it was my grandfathers Winchester 30-30. It is a 1958 build that is new in box. If he owned it for 50+ years without shooting it, i will leave to my kid(s) unfired.   But, i fire his Dan Wesson revolver and other guns on a regular. Other than the exception listed above, i fire all my guns when time and ammo allows...

I could never get my parents to own a gun. Things started going south in a couple houses down from them recently. A couple break in's and such. My mom finally ok'ed my dad to get a firearm for protection.   But--my parents wanted to go cheap on the said firearm. I gave him a Ruger Security Six loaded with hornady critical defense in .38. Dad can handle the .357 but he isn't always home. Mom likes the .38   I can sleep well knowing they have six rounds on tap. I know it will "go bang" every time--i have thousands of rounds through the gun. I'm sure he will buy something in the future but until that day, they have something more powerful than a cell phone. And, given my moms limited experience with a handgun, i would prefer they stay with a revolver........

Yea I thought about that. Then I realized, I could go drop the extra $200 on ammo or add some cash and buy a 1911. After these thought, I felt very American again haha.

Went with a set of 275/60/15 made by Hankook. About $200 cheaper than the BFG's but for my use, i think these will work out great. i do like the look......

As some of you may know, i inherited my grandfathers truck several years back. It was in decent shape at the time but i have been working on it over the last couple years. I simply love working on the truck. It brings back memories of riding around with him. Anyway, it is time for tires--not due to miles but dry rot. He simply never drove it and the tires are 10-12 years old. I have added Belltech shackles on the back. The tires on it now look very undersized to me. I would like to go with something that will give it a sporty, aggressive look. Probably going to go with the B/F radials unless someone has a better suggestions. I'm thinking 275/60/15 but i am really wanting some feedback. Keep these things in mind; It's not a daily driver It will probably never see rain/snow I would guess less than 5,000 miles per year I'm not going to be towing or hauling with this truck It won't be going over 80mph I will be leaving the SS wheels on it so 15's will be there to stay.
