  1.       Really! I don't even utilize the decocker. I will check it when unloading or cleaning, but otherwise just forget about it.   Sorta like the safety on the Shield pistols. lol
  2.   I agree with your thoughts, Jab. I even am considering "downsizing" the collection of firearms. Yes sacrilege, but I'm finding more and more that only a handful of them ever see any use; and I guess I'm just getting old and wonder what I'm going to do with all of them.   But back on track, ammo purchases I think will be my primary focus this year. Maybe a few more mags for my favorite pistols and rifles as well. But on the whole, I really am trying not to be influenced by new guns.
  3.   Yes, he does.   lol   I want it. I love Damascus blades.   But alas, out of my price range.
  4. I have had one for about 7 months. My pistol is tan and my first of color. lol   I find it to be a very accurate, comfortable to shoot pistol. I personally prefer it over the VP9, but that's my opinion.   It has a very smooth, short trigger with a distinct break point that I'm estimating at about 3.5 pounds. And a very short, very audible reset.   Follow up shots are ridiculously easy with this pistol. I absolutely love it. My only complaint with it is finding extra mags for it. Strike that, make it was.   I found a dealer on GunBroker who has them. Goes under seller HotRod. Or just search for Canik and you can find him. Mags are priced about like every other one these days...30 bucks apiece. And he even has some 32 rounders for them. lol   I'll stop just short of saying I like it better than my PPQ 9, but the 2 are darn close in all areas.   If you are considering one...don't hesitate. You won't regret it.
  5.   Wow. I am way behind.
  6. Urban services district unfortunately. Would love to move out, but circumstances preclude that happening anytime soon.
  7. On reputation and comments here alone...Predator Custom. I spoke with them by phone once and was very impressed with them.
  8. Congrats! Great ShowPic!   And welcome in.
  9. He probably would organize a Moms demand Action march upon seeing that. lol He and his wife are BIG supporters. Still working on my throne.
  10. The G34 is a great range gun. I absolutely love mine. And you should give some thought to the G24. It's the best shooting 40 caliber I've ever shot. And it's the gun responsible for me staying with 40 for a while longer. Edit/Add on Damn, the pics of the G40 I just looked at are great!     I can't afford to get into another just now, but I'll say the 20 SF I bought recently sure is comfortable. I just need to get a few boxes of 10mm and shoot it now. lol
  11. A hard decision on these buddy. But I think I'll go with the stonewashed blade on this one. It just looks awesome to me. I'll get some money headed your way soon. as always, Thanks for all this work for me and all of us here. Even if you are breaking me. lol
  12. Really? I had a past neighbor get all fired up over my shooting a Gammo air rifle in my back yard. Even threatened to call the local police station because I had a rifle out in public. All over shooting pellets into a cardboard box stuffed with old phone books as backing. Nothing ever came of it, and the "neighbor" moved away. Guess I was just too threatening to live by. Now if one more would move, I'd be very happy. He's a flaming anti gun, anti Republican, anti conservative, card carrying believer in Al Gore and the like. And thinks Obama and Hillary are the best thing in the last 100 years. He's not even visited the house since I had a Bush yard sign up years ago. Oh...and LOVES our new mayor, Ms Barry.
  13. Brother, you are so right. I swear it just doesn't seem possible that I'll be 64 in a couple months. I really feel like the last 30 years have blown by like a tornado. It just can't have all gone by so quickly. As far as shooting, I like 9 and 45 best. I throw in a little 556 and some 762x39 just to shake thing us a little.
  14.   Some pretty well known names on this list. And isn't it strange that almost all seem to be well educated types who know how to express themselves in a coherent manner. As well as being very successful in their professions.    I must admit to finding 2 surprising(for me anyway) names on that list though.   Eric Clapton and James Earl Jones. Don't know why it should surprise me, but it did.
  15. Yes, I can see that issue coming for me as well. But unlike you Pete, I don't usually shoot anything more than 556  or 762.39. So not a great problem yet for rifle.   But am beginning to feel 45 in the wrist and hand. Just beginning, but I know it's there.   So I'll watch this thread for advice of all kinds.
  16.     You know...I had the same reaction initially. lol I bet you're a bit of an old crumegeon like me. And I'm working on that mag throne. I ordered 15 E-Lander mags from Botach earlier this week. I can make a small chair so far.
  17. Yep. I agree. I know it takes a lot of green to put a range together, but it sure seems like the hourly rates are getting too steep for some of us. Like me, for instance. It may get to the point I have to if I want to shoot, but I'm not there yet.
  18. I got lucky enough to get one a few months after they appeared in Nashville. Whenever that was. I don't remember. Plinked down 425 for it at the time. And like josh.m said, mine was pretty finicky about ammo for several hundred rounds, then finally settled down. I haven't had it out in over a year. Maybe it's time for another session.
  19. Short answer, if I understand all said and written over the last couple of days...nobody really knows or at least not saying. Seems that the incident is being blamed on the Google+ mechanisms and how they interpret the channel restrictions. That's about as clear an answer as I can glean from it all.
  20. Would love to go to a good one again. Before they're all destroyed by Barry.
  21. And on another note...Mack stole the show! lol
  22. In general, I agree with you. But so many people now seem to believe these "celebrities" have some better knowledge of the world and what's happening in it. Or maybe they just can't think for themselves(most likely option) and want their idols to make choices for them. It's like Parrohead said, being famous seems to grant genius status to some actors and singers who couldn't function in the real world.
  23. Not offering specifics here, just a general comment. More and more these days we see the use of multi-caliber cans. For example, getting a can for 45acp and using it for 40 and 9 as well. Using the 22 for 223/556 as well. We seem to be moving away from the caliber specific type now, i.e. , using a 22 rated for 22 cal only. I really don't know enough about it to say it's good or bad, but this is happening. And with the costs of can and tax stamp, this should be a good thing. Personally, I'm sort of thinking and looking into that as well. If I can get a good 45 can and use it for 40 and 9 as well...I'll be very happy.
  24. It still sucks. That is all.
  25. I think you've covered all the essentials. Yep... read your post again...that's a pretty good list.
