  1. The Eagles were and still are...a true American "Supergroup."   With Don Henley and Glenn Frey, they soared on the U.S. and the world music scene.   Glenn will be sorely missed by many.
  2. Stunned...just stunned.
  3. Yes, I plan to watch. I might learn something.
  4.   Clinton=Liberal give away=freebies. Can also substitute Obama in the equation for Clinton.   Of course those feebies are going to cost someone. Guess who.
  5. Layered packaging and multiple nested boxes are the way to go. Shipped a lot of breakable items in the late 80s and early 90s, and that's how I did it.   Wrap your item in bubble wrap first. Makes sure it has about one inch of protection, and tape so it can't move about. Then get a box just large enough(or build a box around the scope) to fit; and place that in another box, also with some sort of protective layer.   Wadded up paper works in a pinch, again tightly packed so it can't move about. Or more bubble wrap, peanuts, Styrofoam, etc. Anything to protect from shock as packages are moved(dropped or thrown) about.   The key is not letting the item move about, and giving an inch + between inner and outer containment for a buffer zone.
  6.   As a couple have said, it's a non-issue for me. I just ignore it. Not claiming that's right or wrong, just what I do with it. Just like the Shields' safety.
  7. Yeah...I'm trying to decide on a UBR stock for my new AR9, and I see the Stealth Gray. That gets me to thinking gray and black rather than the FDE and black I'd been close to doing. And to think, I swore I'd never put any other than black on a rifle.
  8. Check with Steelharp. He might have one at Sumner Gun in Gallatin. Seems that online ordering might just be the fastest if you are ready to buy. If you'd like to meet somewhere, I'll gladly make mine available to you for an inspection and shoot.
  9. I guess I'd agree with the consensus here, and it actually appears to be unanimous, so far. We are Biblically instructed that family comes first. And the rest becomes a question of individual choice. Do we save, or attempt to save, someone from a threat. I honestly don't know the correct answer for this question. In my younger days, when I thought I was the badass hero who'd ride in and save us all; I would have had an easy answer. But now, as I'm older, and much slower, with far less mobility, and maybe a bit wiser; that answer isn't quite so clear. I'd like to believe that after ushering loved ones to safety, that I would do something to help others. But I really can't say that I would or would not. Lord willing, I'll never have to make that choice. But in the days to come, I fear that might just be a question many of us will have to ask and answer for ourselves. And no, I'm not a dyed-in-the-wool pessimist. I just think that this world is falling apart around us, and I hope I don't live long enough to have to make that kind of choice on another's life.
  10. True. But that doesn't mean it shouldn't at least be spoken aloud....many times and very loud. Maybe, just maybe enough to wake up some people and derail the Clinton train.
  11.   I realize it's all subjective to the individual, but I agree with TDR, when I've felt the need for extended slide and mag release on my Glocks; I've stayed with factory parts. jmo
  12. So it's not Glock 19 in general, just the hen-s*** brown that is in demand and can't be found? :hiding:
  13.   It is a damn shame how so many in this country worship at the alter of Hillary Clinton. She should be at the very least, brought up on charges of malfeasance and dereliction of duty while in office.   Much more I'd like to say, but I get so caught up in emotion that I don't trust what I would say.
  14. I haven't seen it yet, but have read in several articles that the movie was made to be as impartial as possible; just outlining the events as they occurred, with no direct mention of Hillary or the State Dept.    That this was done to get as many people as possible to see it and make up their own minds about what actually happened.   These comments are paraphrased from interviews given by Director, Michael Bay.   I have no doubt in my own mind, but I'm sure there will be those who will call it a total pack of lies and scream that it's all done to discredit Hillary and the Dept. of State.     As for me, I don't think much else could be said to change the opinion I already have of both.
  15. NOW that's funny!!!
  16. LOL!!
  17. Thanks, If I had the extra money I'd go for one. I agree that they are very good guns. I owned the Beretta 8045 and got talked out of it, then got one of the Stoegers and liked it just as much. Until I sold that one too.   I guess I have no gun loyalty. lol
  18. HAHAHAHAHAHAh!!
  19. Great job!! Introducing someone to sport shooting is one of the most rewarding things we can do. I've done it a few times and found it to be as pleasurable as you did.   I think I had more fun watching them shoot as when I did on my own. It's such a good feeling, that of teaching others, that is, to do something they might never have undertaken by themselves.
  20. Congratulations on the new family member. When you get ready for that 220, let me know. lol Might tempt you with a package.
  21. You guys just don't have the appreciation for a fine voice and range like Ron and I do. Someday you'll come to appreciate the talent that is.....ADELE.   Really.
  22. He certainly is....interesting. Yeah, that's the word. Interesting. lol
  23.   LOL   No...he did it to see our trigger control and teach us sight picture during SA firing.  Ah...that brings back memories.
  24.   When I saw this, I immediately thought of my class instructor. A local, now retired, LEO, Buford Tune did that as a training tool to learn how to advance and retreat. Several of us were Shaking our heads in disbelief over it.       HOW in the heck did I miss this thread?!?!?!?   It's almost as much fun as the Kentucky Conan thread was.
  25.   You still are a cruel man. lol
