14.99 a box for CCI isn't much more than it was a year ago. I've paid 11.99 to 13.99 over a year ago in some locations.

I do try to buy made in the USA products, so I'm about ready to cross the Lone Wolf barrel off the list. From reading info on Glock Store, Glock Talk, and quite literally between 75-100 linked adds and search pages; I can't see much except personal preference between the Storm Lake and the KKM barrels. Both seem to be constructed from similar materials, and are comparably priced. Biggest difference I've read so far is that the KKM is supposedly a copetition quality and therefore better. I've seen comments on both indicating problems with feeding some less than sammi spec reloads, and that the KKM barrels are not always a straight drop in and can be very tight. Have seen comments saying the Storm Lake barrels have had quality issues and fit problems as well. Pretty much as I expected, there doesn't seem to be a clear cut winner in the group. So I may just flip a coin between them and go from there.

I see no problem with your thinking. With the scant differences within the mainstream of both parties, it's really just done to the least offensive in the race.

My 88 Chevy shortbed has 199,600 on it. It ain't the miles...it's the age. Body looks pretty good, but mechanically it's getting pretty worn out. To be right, this little truck really needs a frame off build. New suspension all around, disc brakes on all corners, motor, all bushings. Basically...I'd love to have her rebuilt from the frame up. Cab interior redone, new dash and update the instrument panel. That's getting pretty close to a new truck price though

That's you subconscious telling you something.

:stunned: Dang, Lester, I drive more than that a year! Just joking of course, but I've slowed down my road excursions as well. I last bought in May of 2011, and have 22,600 miles as of yesterday. It wasn't uncommon for me to do 1000 miles a week for a long while.

Yes, most, probably 90% of what I do is at an indoor range. However, I do hope to have some outside time this year as well.

For no good reason at all, except an urge to try something different; I'm thinking I want to get a 357 sig barrel for it. I really don't need to do this, but I sold my G23, and have quite a bit of 357 sig ammo left around, so I got an itch. I really should just be satisfied with the 5" G35, but since I can't use it for the 357. I get an excuse for another toy. The 357 sig, 6.04" barrels can be had ported or standard with out ports. Haven't decided with would be better for me. I'm wondering about the recoil and muzzle flip with the standard barrel, and the ported barrels I haven't really been fond of in the past. The LWD barrels start out at about 135 I think for the non ported, with the Storm Lake and KKM both about the same at 165. After more looking this morning, I'm leaning more toward the Storm Lake or KKM as they are both made in the good ole' USA. Not so with Lone Wolf it appears. We will see and still looking for further comments.

Good point, zfm.

Ok guys, here's the situation. I'm looking towards getting a conversion barrel for one of my Glocks; specifically a 357 sig for a 40. I did the usual search last evening and found what I think I want. Looking at Lone Wolf initially and got the references to the Glock Talk 21 page diatribe between several of it's members and the owner of LWD. It sure was interesting, but didn't really tell me much in terms of quality among the Lone Wolf, Storm Lake, KKM barrels. I know the primary purpose most replacement/conversion barrel purpose is for firing lead bullits in the guns. But I'm just looking for the caliber conversion aspect. Do you have any comments on the three? Ever used them? Recommendations? At the moment, I haven't finished my look into KKM, but in general, thinking of the Storm Lake over the Lone Wolf. I'd appreciate any thoughts you might want to bring. Thanks.

Congrats on finding one you liked. These age pretty god little trucks.
-
Why?? We already have Glocks.

There is a "free" heading in all the classified sections.
-
Yeah, but the price level progression from version 1 to version 5 is a killer!

Had 2 bouts of WP in 2009/10 while under going chemo and radiation. I tell you from experience...do what you are told and don't overdo anything. Just recover...that's all you really have to do. And yes, this stuff can cause great problems for you.

:hiding: OK. I'm read to duck here, but after reading both linked commenteries; there is a certain logic to them. Not saying I agree with them, especially the harshness of the feminist; but both do raise some valid issues. Maybe on the outer edges of the real world, but something to consider. Both do go against Biblical teaching, I believe. But as far as the secular world, and today's climate of liberal political correctness, I think they could be considered as rational. Just my opinions.

Ok, I know I'm gonna come out sounding really stupid here. But I traded for this quite a while back, put it in the safe, and just plain forgot about it. I was pretty sick at the time. Long unimportant story, so I just put it away, thinking I'd get to it later. But I didn't. All I remembered was it was a 40, so I'm thinking it's a 35. Got my mind on a trade and that's what I offered it as. When it came to light that it was a 24, both of us slowed down a bit. Anyway, not in a great hurry to sell or trade. Maybe it's not worth much except for competition, but I like it just for what it is...a 40 that holds well for me, shoots well, and I can see the sight easily. I wasn't fishing to sell, just wanted to see if others had more knowledge than I had on it. So thanks guys.

Best test...if you are satisfied with it, and it sounds like you went over and under it. Be happy with it.

We have a 5 year old Aussie that came from a Border Collie/Aussie family. She's smart as a whip. Friendly beyond belief. Loves everyone, and I do mean everyone(unfortunately), especially little children. She is very possessive and protective of the 2 neighborhood children. For the first 2 years she followed just behind me and to my left. Nudging my calf. Definitely a herder. Chases squirrels in a definite herding fashion. Doesn't go straight at them, Molly will swing wide around them to one side and push them towards a particular tree in our yard. It has no close limbs to another and she will darn near climb the tree playing with them. Her markings as a puppy were sorta similar to the gray and black spotted one in the picture. We thought she was pure Aussie until about 6-8 months old, then she started getting long legs and a long deep chest. As to our assertion of her lineage, our vet did a dna test on her( free, he's a buddy) and that's what he came back with. I really don't care what she is. She's a very great companion. And tells me every day how lucky I am to be owned by her.

OK, I'll add to the pot. Like almost all the posters here, I prefer a plain edge. No particular reason. I just like it more. Maybe it's because I cut myself years ago with a serrated blade. :stunned:

Yeah...Right. But at least Dewayne Johnson is somewhat of an actor. I've actually enjoyed some of his films. With all the penchant in Holly weird Land these days, I'm waiting to see Johnson as a Terminator.
-
Yep. You just got the reasons in 2 posts. Cheaper and less recoil. That pretty much covers it.
-
I have to say that in spite of the 6" barrel, this holds very easily. It balances well, and I really like the long sight radius.
-
Yep. But mines longer. :stunned:
