  1. Voted wednesday after the doc visit. Wifey did Thursday. Large numbers of voters. All kinds and ages. Long lines but moved pretty quickly.
  2. Maybe impractical, but very, very sweet. I've always wanted one in 30 and one in 9. Maybe someday.
  3. Nice. Nice. EEEWWWW.
  4. Hedgeapple my derriere. Get the 357 out.
  5. Congratulations, Fred. That's one fine addition to anyones collection. If I can't have it...I'm glad it's yours.
  6. Musta' been a hellava trade item!
  7. Wimpy??? He sure couldn't have fired one. It's not a 460/500 like recoil; but wimpy it ain't.
  8. Naw..he's too smart to do that. Right?? Even I wouldn't do that. Not more than once or twice anyway.
  9. Normally, I wouldn't think it bad. It's really not a volume traffic street. It kinda parallels 65 and you can see the shop from 65. Worst part should be the Sidco Drive portion. NG Armory and Admin quarters are in that area, and some industrial and office buildings, but not a real problem from either.
  10. Stopped by this morning. Really good crowd there. Good looking building and the interior is pretty nice as well. Good, roomy layout. Plenty of room to move around and look at the inventory, or at least will be after today and tomorrow. Very nice display cases. Well lighted interior. And the range area is awesome. Also well lighted. And the controls for the target trolley is very easy to use. I took the opportunity to shoot a couple of Beretta pistols while there. A PX4 compact and a Nano. FWIW, I like the PX4 and have mixed feelings about the Nano. All things considered, I'll probably join myself. Not the closest to me, but much nicer/better than anything else in the area. Oh yeah, the staff was very nice as well.
  11. Very neat! Not having checked the site yet, I think it reminds me of the Rhino pistols. Gotta check them out.
  12. Just a bit South(?) of Old Hickory Blvd/ Dickerson Foad intersection.
  13. Another vote for Wilson 47D mags!
  14. Not saying it's better than the other brands, because in most cases, what we like is so much an individual case of likes and dislikes; but have you tried shooting a Sig 1911? I have and RCS, a Platinum Elite, and a Tacops. All are extremely easy to shoot, accurate, and have run without problems for me. But...YMMV.

    Keltec P32

I've had two of them. No problems with either one. Sold my first to a friend, traded my second for another gun (a Taurus). Bought an LCP next and still have it. For me, the only real difference was the 32 vs the 380, and the LCP has a slightly better trigger.
  16. I think the op's orginal question was about the legality of shipping ammo by USPS, and I don't think that's allowed. But I've been wrong before.
  17. Anyone besides me been to see the reconditioned LST 325 down at Riverfront Park? Best info can be had by google and web searches, but basically it's this. A WWII LST(Landing Ship Tank), repaired by former Navy servicemen, is docked down at the park. Open to public tours thru Monday the 25th. It's a chance to step aboard a piece of American history. This gallant lady was rescued from the Greek salvage yard where it was found, after being sold off after the war; repaired and brought across the Atlantic. She is permanently docked at Evansville, IN; but is on a tour right now. According to web info, and what I learned today; she made 40 crossings of the Atlantic with troops and supplies, was in service during the Normandy Invasion; delivering men and equipment to the beaches. My poor telling of this is really enough reason to go, but check it out online and see what I mean. My wife and I went today and thouroughly enjoyed the experience. Lots of veterans there, a surprising number from WWII as well. Saw several men wearing "Honor Flight" caps and other ship id caps. The highlite of the day for me was the honor and pleasure meeting and talking with 2 gentlemen; one a survivor of the Iwo Jima landings, the other wearing his decorations from Normandy and Iwo. To say that I had chills from the experience is saying much too little. All I was really able to do was ask if I could shake their hands and give them a teary "Thank You." I'm not ashamed to admit I was awed by these two gentlemen. I was in the presence of real "greatest generation" heroes. Not taking anything away from our current service people, but this was a humbling experience for me. Getting to meet some of those who made this country and were not afraid to take risks to keep it free and safe. If you can...go. It's well worth the effort.
  18. Even considering the source, I'd have to opine that...Yes, that many people in this country are that stupid.
  19. Worked with a diehard Michigan alum some years ago. Made for a lively work environment about this time every year. Go Irish!
  20. What was this thread about??? After reading the above posts, I forgot.
  21. Congratulations on the deal. I'm extremely jealous.
  22. Thank you for posting this. I'd seen it a wile ago and lost it. It's great knowledge to have about our companions. I've said this before, but I feel it's worth saying again. The love of our pets/companions is the second closest thing to God's love for us on this earth.
