Good SHTF Survival Fiction Books

I had no idea he had another book out. I just bought it. Thanks for the heads up. It took me a month but I finally finished all 750 pages of Unintended Consequences. Really good book but it could have been 200 pages shorter. I skipped through a lot of slow parts. -
Absolutely NOTHING to do with guns. But, when I was 30...

Man that was awesome! Can you still do that today? -
I love Memphis threads. I agree that this could happen anywhere. But statistically, you're much more likely to get robbed in Memphis than almost every other city in the US. I understand that you all may be proud of your hometown and enjoy living there but you can't ignore the stats.

While I agree that a $2,500 Ed Brown may not shoot any more accurately than a $400 Rock Island, it looks a hell of a lot better. Someday I will spend a ridiculous amount of money on a new Ed Brown. I think they are one of the sexiest guns on the planet and I'm willing to spend that much money on something I can pass down to my kids someday.

Keurig - If you don't have one, you need one!
White Goodman replied to PackinMama's topic in General Chat
I bought the adapter so we don't have to use the K cups anymore. The only time we buy them is when family is visiting because it's easier. Keurig's are known to break after a year or less but ours has been going strong for 3.5. I hear their customer service is pretty good though. -
And of course the fact that the truck started after not running for how many years now?

Just went by Dicks. All handgun ammo is 20% off yet they are still at least 20% higher than other vendors. Their rifles and shotguns are on sale. The only thing that peaked my interest was a Mossberg MVP for $409.

Slick Guns has a decent list compiled so far. I highly doubt I'll be going anywhere. My shopping will be done online. I'm still betting no one will be able to beat the deals PSA runs. Wal-Mart has 20% off ALL guns. Dicks has some decent deals but not worth venturing out IMO. http://www.slickguns.com/

Well, I hate to see anyone lose their job but they certainly can't blame Remington. I hope Remington at least offered to let the employees move to TN and keep their job. I know it's not easy to pack up and move across the country though.

I just responded to your PM before seeing this. How as it for accuracy and reliability?

I want to know more about that upper. I've never heard of the brand. Do they have a good reputation? I was going to order a PSA upper but yours is signifcantly less. It looks really good. From what I've been told you'll want to invest another $20 on a Magpul K2 grip. Is this the same one you bought? http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=453194216

Change his clothes and he would look like an ISIS member

Yessir. The SBX.

Any word on whether or not Sig will offer this one in FDE? I've only found it in black so far.
-
The last time I held one of these I thought "Sig made this way too thick and heavy to pocket carry". I would recommend getting your hands on one before buying.

Ruger LCR. Front pocket strong side in a Nemesis. It prints like hell but I don't care.

I'm amazed you got 1 back let alone 2. I can't imagine what kind of crazy underground network allowed that gun to make it up to Chicago.

I bought a kindle on amazon due $20. It's great. The only issue is that the screen does not light up on the cheap ones so can't read in the dark. Also, I had to buy a charger. It only comes with the cord

I recently went to Wal-Mart and they had a big stack of 100 rd CCI in .22LR. 3 box limit. I bought two boxes and said I would leave the other for someone else. The people around me just couldn't understand my logic. One person was trying to convince the clerk to sell him the box I left behind. People can't seem to understand they are making this worse.

Anyone "built" their own berm/range?
White Goodman replied to maroonandwhite's topic in General Chat
I wanted to share something that is slightly off topic but still relevant. This past weekend I visited an outdoor range in Lakeland FL. When I got there the rifle range was closed. I started a conversation with the RO and he told me that they were having to tear down and rebuild the berms. Apparently so much lead has been shot into these berms over the years that there was essentially no dirt left. Because of this, they had a few very close calls as ricochets came back at the shooters. They are having to send all the dirt through these big machines to sort out the lead. Once they are done they will rebuild them with new dirt/sand. Think about the environmental impact too. You don't have to be a tree-hugger to assume the lead is getting into the ground water. Anyways, the moral of the story is that if you are planning on shooting a LOT in a small area of dirt you may want to consider adding more dirt every few years just to be safe. You don't want to get to the point that rounds are coming back at your face.
