  1. You have to be up close and personal for the animals to get you, but the poachers can shoot you from a greater distance.
  2. Rossi or someone to make a stainless steel all weather lever gun in 327Fed. that is affordable.
  3. The grips look like Jay Scott grips.
  4. If you are close to a Rural King store they had a great sale on last week. RIA on sale one day was $379.99 if I remember correctly. Go to their web site and get on their gun email list for their sale dates and prices, can order on line and have shipped to local RK store. I bought a Kimber Micro 380 last Sat. out the door $503.86
  5. Any one following this happening in England? Shut down for two days now ,over 100,000 passengers stranded. Will some one try that in the US? The Brits can't catch them.
  6. One of the reasons not to legalize it is the big pharma companies would lose billions of dollars in revenue, no one would need to buy their pain killers because everyone could grow their own. Always follow the money, money rules everything.
  7. I believe it is called due process. If the law can take your property without due process, we are in bigger trouble. If they take your guns without due process why would you have to petition the court to get them back? Should be returned in same condition as when they took them at no court to you. Just because it is the law does not mean it is right. Remember what Kruschiev said about not having to invade America "we will destroy you from within".
  8. Government has been stealing from citizens since the beginning of government in the form of taxes. If congress ever figures out all they have to do is call it a tax we are hosed big time. This will be in the courts for awhile, we will see if the 5th amendment means anything or not, may not mean any more than the pesky part of "shall not be infringed" means now.
  9. Thanks Garfa, that is what I thought also.
  10. Is the Bersa Thunder made in stainless steel or the one you see on Gunbrokers that are called ss just plated satin nickel?
  11. If the rubber seal on the can is still good and if the ammo hasn't been underwater for extended period of time, I would not have a problem shooting it. You can vibrate it in corn cob or walnut media to polish the brass if tarnish is very bad.

    Earthquake

We have the occasional quake now most of the damage is to concrete floors and walls. Causes cracks in them. Back in the early to mid 50's remember some that actually caused the ground to tremble. Not a lot you can do about a earthquake.
  13. You do have a choice. Continue on as you are going or choose a different path.

    Earthquake

Things still shaking and trembling over your way?
  15. RK has a military surplus page with some cool stuff like the revolving flare gun. They have good prices on Kimber micro 380 also.
  16. Had a friend from the Monterey area back in the late 60's worked with at Y-12 plant, name was L. B. Swift that made moonshine, smooth easy drinking. L. B. and his friend also made some peach brandy that was pretty good too. Preacher Barrows at Dover made really good moonshine back in the 50's and 60's before TVA made Land Between the Lakes. The last good moonshine I drank came out of Ky up around Hopkinsville. This was the untaxed kind. Was partial to Bacardi's rum and coke back in my younger days. Just a little in my egg nog is all I drank now.
  17. What is good to spike my egg nog with? Is Bullet burbon any good? Enquiring mind needs to know.

    Good News

US became a net oil exporter for the first time in 75 years this week. Just think of the billions of dollars that could have been kept in the US if we had been doing this for the last 75 years.
  19. If the accused is found not to be a threat the accuser should have to pay for the accused defense and time lost. A hostile neighbor , relative or disgruntled employee can claim you are a threat for no good reason and cost you a chunk of money.

    Cas Walker

Finally remembered his name. When lived in Oliver Springs,[worked at y-12 plant] in late 60's, remember his store ads on radio and tv. Was a staunch conservative. Colorful interesting man, any of you older guys remember him. Took me over a week to remember his name, getting old really is fun.
  21. Another reason to cast your own boolits and reload.
  22. Did not know Midsouth carried bp, good to know.
  23. Democrats lost 63 seats in the House in 2010, largest since 1948, largest for any midterm since 1938.
  24. You are right about large amounts, most shooters only keep a few pounds on hand. Have a friend that has a 25 lb. keg he bought many years ago. BP storage in your home should be in wood or plastic, not metal as metal would have grenade effect when exploding. Some of the imported bp comes in one pound metal cans.
