  1.   Not going to happen. We're already taxed to death anyway. At least 75% of everything I buy comes from the internet & I do mean everything. Groceries & ammo are about the only thing I buy locally. Some sites charge tax & some don't. Everything is either too expensive locally or not available. I'm over an hour drive from any big town & if I want something I have to order it.   I've been to the shooting range at Bud's more than once & it's really nice. The Seviereville area would do great with a large indoor gun range & training facility, but I'm still not convinced it's really Bud's. I was at Smoky Mountain Knife Works yesterday & no one there has heard about it. I even spoke to the owner of The Gun Warehouse (Bud's) a few weeks ago while in Lexington & he said they have no plans of opening a second location anywhere. He might be keeping it secret for personal reasons, but it wouldn't make sense for him to be so secretive about it. I do know they have a contract with Smoky Mountain Knife Works to display & sell knives.
  2. I'll probably do mine through the mail. The nearest DMV to me is 1 1/2 hours away. A stamp vs $30-$40 in gas wins every time.
  3. Found this on Tulammo's website...   Technical description BrassMAXX 9×19 FMJ Bullet weight (grains) 115 Muzzle Velocity (fps) 1345 Energy (ft/lbs) 462 Looks like some hot stuff, which is a postive IMO. The round container of 9mm I bought says "made in Bosnia/Herzegovina" too.
  4. Has anyone used it & what did you think? I've always avoided steel cased Tula like a plague, but my local WM just got in a ton of 100 round boxes of 9mm Tula Brass Maxx for $23 & since they're sold out of everything else I picked up a box. Any positives or negatives? Thanks.
  5. I think this should be a lesson that the laws of the U.S. Constitution & the Amendments mean exactly squat to our bad president & liberal lawmakers. If they come across a law they don't agree with, their solution is to either add new laws to cancel out the existing ones or try to get the existing laws changed. I hope people keep this in mind in 2016.
  6.   +1. I like the part that says... "The Brunos had imbibed as well, but neither was drunk, Stephanie later told police." I guess this means that since he apparently wasn't drunk, he was just naturally a total douche?
  7.   Think of the article as a lesson in what NOT to do when you're drunk on the street & a cop grabs you.
  8. I don't know if everyone else is too old or if I'm too young, but I've only heard of about five of those movies.
  9. Be very careful of Armslist sales. I've bought lots of guns online before, but they were from legitimate sources. I won't even consider touching armslist myself. Have you placed a WTB thread here? You never know. One of our members here just might have your "unicorn".
  10. We've been through the same thing with our pets. First start off by washing all sheets, rugs, curtains, etc... If you don't already have one, get a good quality HEPA air filter for each room. You don't need the high dollar industrial ones either. They run about $20-$30 each for the small-medium sized ones. We have a small one in each bedroom & a larger one in the living room & they make a huge difference in the amount of dust in the air & on furniture & really help our breathing. You might also try a matress cover. Any dust mites left inside will die off & it will prevent new ones. A neat trick to keep pests off your dog is to wipe him/her with a dryer sheet. Good luck. Pets are people too.
  11. I've been using Ballistol CLP for more than 10 years and swear by it. I use it on all my guns, around the house, & it even keeps my car door's rubber seals from freezing up & sticking during the winter. It's also great for protecting leather holsters & boots. During WWII they even used it on cuts & scrapes & to kill lice. It's really handy stuff.
  12. "Preparing for elimination of that 4" blade length limit."   Are they trying to get the law changed? I haven't heard anything about it yet. Can anyone explain or have a link? Thanks.
  13.   +1. That's a common complaint about the standard 92FS/M9. A few models like the Brigadiers, Elites, & 90-Twos have removable front sights. I don't know of any companies that make fiber optic sights for the Cougar, but Trijicon & Meprolight make night sights for them. I used Glow Inc. V10 paint on my Cougar sights & have been happy with it's performance.
  14. Have you tried out a Beretta Cougar (now marketed & built in Beretta's Stoeger faciltiy in Turkey)? IMO they have better ergonomics than the 92 models & are more fun to shoot. They're still a metal gun with some heft, but are a bit more compact with slighty smaller grips. They're also available in 9mm, 357sig, .40 & .45 acp. 92FS & Beretta Cougar 8000 (9mm)
  15.   No. The factory spring is rated at about 24 lbs & the factory DA trigger pull is around 10-11 lbs. Installing a 18 or 19 lb spring should lower the trigger pull by about 3 lbs. You should be able to get a 7-8 lb DA pull. The SA pull will remain about the same, maybe 1/2 lb lighter. If you go with a lighter spring (16 or 17 lb) the trigger will improve even more, but you run the risk of light primer strikes which would be acceptable for a range toy, but not for SD. I'd also buy some snap caps, lube it up, & dry fire the crap out of it. The more you dry fire it the smoother most triggers become, plus you get a more familiar feel for the gun.
  16.   You can pick up a spring here to lighten the DA pull by a few lbs or a spring kit to tune it to your liking & still keep it 100% reliable. If it's going to be a range toy go as light as you want on the hammer spring. If you plan to use it for SD I wouldn't go lower than 18 or 19 lbs. Here's the link for the P225 springs.... http://www.gunsprings.com/Semi-Auto%20Pistols/SIG-SAUER%20(SIGARMS)/P-225,%20P-228,%20P-229/cID1/mID4/dID253#295
  17. I'm not sure about how rare they are, but most owners either love or hate them, but it's mostly love. Most of the complaints you hear are about the single stack mags & the old style heel release. They're excellent quality pistols & are extremely reliable. Some owners claim they have the most balanced feel of any SIG they've shot. I find it ironic that "Montage Suisse" is French for "Swiss Built" (with German parts of course). They usually sell in the $350-$450 range in good to very good used condition & the mags tend to sell for around $35-$40 each when I've seen them. Be sure to post some pics if you grab it.   Here's a link with a lot more info than I can provide. They picture a newer model with the upper mag release, but the info relates to the older models too.  http://www.cybershooters.org/dgca/sig-sauer_p225.htm
  18.   Maybe they should build a luxury resort there & then give free memberships to Obama & his staff. I wonder how much crap that hole could hold?   :usa:
  19. We went to Mammoth cave & also took a tour of the Corvette factory a few years ago & they said that area has hundreds of sinkholes. Mammoth cave is estimated to have about 600+ miles of tunnels under KY & sinkholes are everywhere.
  20. I agree that the mark ups suck, but anything is worth whatever someone is willing to pay. Remember a year ago when people were bidding $1,000 for a box of Twinkies on ebay? Who knows...in 10 years $80 may be considered a bargain for a brick of .22lr. That's just how it goes I guess.
  21. Very nice set of pistols. The frames, slide, & barrels on the "U.S.A." models are machined here in America. Italian made frames, slides, & barrels have different proof marks on them. You also date U.S. & Italian models differently. You go by the serial # on U.S. models, but Italian models have a two digit date stamp on the right side of the frame next to the trigger guard. There's a good chance the internals are made in Italy. Brownell's is Beretta's official parts distributor & had to special order a spring from Italy for me when I owned a PX4. Most of my Berettas were made in Italy, but I also have a few U.S. models. I hope a TN built model will be in my future if Beretta starts making their pistols here too.
  22.   I'm not sure I understand. Beretta has been manufacturing pistols here in the U.S. for 30 years when the M9 replaced the 1911A1.
  23. Here's another question. I live here in TN a few miles from the KY state line. Now there's a gun shop about 15 minutes away in KY that I visit sometimes. I was in there the other day & asked about transfer & shipping cost to my FFL where I live. They told me that there's no shipping fee. He said that after I buy the pistol my local FFL drives & picks up the pistols & brings it back to TN to complete the transfer. Sometimes they deliver it by hand to my LGS. They do this a lot, but is it legal?
  24. Here's a product you might want to look at. My dad picked up a set of Jakks "Eyeclops" goggles last year & I was shocked at how clear the picture was. Also, they don't really glow red like in the photo. They don't put out any visible light except an extremely faint orange glow on the high setting. You can also change from green to black/white (natural) vision. The set he has allows you to open a cover over one eye if you want to look around without using the IR. Not professinal, but not bad for $30.  http://eyeclopsnightvision.com/
