    Thanks, its my first AR.  I can see my BUIS through the PA red dot pretty well (lower 1/3 co-witness).  It would be nice to have some magnification to aid accuracy, but I'm not a good enough shot for that to matter a whole lot.  Minute of paper plate at 200 or so would suit me fine.      Does your butt stock have the storage compartment?  Mine does and it's cavernous...   I can easily fit two 10 rd stripper clips in there and can squeeze a 3rd in there if I don't need to get them back out in a hurry.  :D   Adding a little weight to the stock helps offset the nose heavy nature of forward mounted scopes.  Balance is more important than overall weight. 

    That's the thing with photos and photographers...   I sat here for a good 3 minutes mulling over whether or not to post that last one.  It's my least favorite.  I thought I framed it reasonably well with the fence, trees, and a touch of sky... but, I dunno...  I got frustrated futzing around with the colors.  I quit and started over 3 or 4 times and it still doesn't seem "right" to me.  But I've heard that from a more than a few other photogs... photos they thought were distinctly "meh" are the ones that others seem to love. 

A friend sent this to me this morning. I know it's wrong, but I can't stop laughing. That aside, he/she can do what ever he/she wants. None of us would know anything about this if it weren't for the TV show.

Took the kids on a little hike in the GSMNP yesterday. Forgot the real camera so I took a few shots with my phone. Fiddled around with the camera app editing software to give them a "vintage" look while grilling hot dogs after we got back home. Thought they turned out fairly well....

Copycat! ;) Nice rifle. Mine is the TGO lower, PSA upper, Cavalry Arms C1 buttstock, Primary Arms red dot. It wears a Hogue pistol grip now and a USGI sling. I love the way it handles but unfortunately I'm yet to get it sighted in.

We planted half of it 2 weeks ago and the other half (except the okra) this weekend. The beans, peas, and lettuce are already sprouting. Hopefully we'll have a good yield this year.

Nice. An AK is high on my list of toys to acquire. I particularly want a yugo.

Those ash trays are typically held in with a metal spring tab. You just have to squeeze it and tilt it out. Once you get the ash tray out, you'll have to figure out how to mount the holster. Maybe there's a bracket or something else in there strong enough to attach it to.

Sounds like my mom and sister when I was a kid. I recall being woken up on a Saturday morning to the sound of them yelling at one another again. I walked into the kitchen in my drawers, they paused and stared, I told them to shut the hell up, and walked back to my room. They were quiet after that. I think the shock alone is the only reason I got away with saying that to my mom. I'm glad I have boys. :)

    4700 officers on the road helps explain that to me.  I had in mind a department about 1/10th that size.  Still, that's a lot.  Thanks for the info and for your service.

    Slightly off topic I suppose, but this really jumped out at me....  That's 5 funerals every 2 years.  Maybe I'm showcasing my ignorance, but that's way more than I would have expected.   How big was the department?  All in the line of duty?  Feel free to ignore me if you don't want to talk about it... just having a hard time wrapping my head around that.

The only Daisy I currently have doesn't have enough oomph. I may use it as an excuse to upgrade, or I could just use the .22. If it meets its end at my hand by methods other than poison, it will end up consumed by a hawk or owl anyway...

Foxes are fantastic vermin disposers, in addition to just being really pretty animals.    A big ass rat has taken up residence in one of my flower beds.  I wish a fox, owl, hawk, etc. would dispose of it for me. 

I had a bad experience with Goldschlager once.  I'd guess the smell of this alone would make me gag.    My wife liked the JD Honey, I thought it was ok though if honey is what you're after, I'd just drink mead.

  I think that had a lot to do with their price point.  People willing to pay double the market value for a high end AK have a tendency to be picky, and not unrightfully so.
