  1. Do you get better groups without the sled? (bags, bench, bipod, ...)   How much do you have to adjust the sled between shots?
  2.     I was at that show too.  That was the only time I've seen Godsmack live and they were darn good.
  3. Wish I could. Should be a great show.
  4. Mine came 3-4 months before expiration. Renewal time was less than a month, mailbox to mailbox.
  5. What several others have said... Let your insurance agent deal with their insurance agent. That's what you pay them for.
  6. Welcome!  I lived in Church Hill for about 8 years before I moved here.
  7. Do you want the fence removed? If so, make a stink. If not, let it ride.
  8. We've got 7-8" on the ground now. The roads in the city were mostly just wet. Getting to the city limit was the fun part. I had to put the blazer in 4wd for the last 3ft of my commute. I got about half way into the parking spot before it wouldn't go anymore... forward or backwards. That's the brace under the hood. It blocks some of the heat from the engine so the snow sticks there first. Doesn't take but a degree or two to make a difference.
  9. I don't know the torque required to say if the stress would cause it to be damaged by tightening. However, Aluminum nut on aluminum threads will stick horribly and gall. Use anti-seize.
  10. And it's snowing. Again. Yay.
  11.     I also prefer a less conspicuous mag pouch like the Bianchi.  I use what's intended to be a phone pouch for one size and a generic Bass Pro pouch for the other.  I think they both were about $5.  Any sort of generic knife/tool/phone type pouch works fine.  Certainly not as fast to access as the open top kind, but I prefer better concealment.
  12.     I feel dumb for not thinking of this...   If the yardages are known, then the correct elevation is but a few clicks away.           I use the terms hold-over and KY windage interchangeably.  Perhaps that's not entirely correct.
  13. Wear safety glasses.  Isopropyl alcohol works quite well as a cutting fluid for aluminum with no oily mess to clean up afterwards.  I'd try to rig up some way to hold the dremel/drill steady... something you can hold it up against when moving back/forth.  I strongly recommend using a real end mill instead of drill bit.  They're both sharper and more rigid.  You can get one for under $20... http://www.mcmaster.com/#8918a27/=w2aik3
  14. Me too, except I used rocks or BB's. I recall coming close to hitting one or two. I'd like to get another one... After all, I need another hobby...
  15. Hope you heal up fast. I'm only a little younger than you and I fuss at my parents regularly about keeping their phones on their person when out for that very reason.
  16. 4.5" here now. Had fun playing in it with the boys. :)
  17. Got at least 3" and counting here. Yay. But I'll take snow over ice any day.
  18. Can anyone find a price reference?  In the $400 range, I hope.    I don't think this is much uglier than anything else... Glock, XD, M&P,  (Hi Point excepted)... none of them will win any beauty contests.  The only thing that really matters is what the target looks like.
  19. I freely admit to being a fair weather rider.  I don't like being cold or wet, and both is downright miserable.  My bike has been sitting in my garage for a couple weeks now.  I've heard that riding in the snow can be fun (I have a dual sport), but this icy, sloppy, wet mess is awful and I'm not wiling to break me or the bike in name of fun.   As for what have I missed out on...?  Darn near everything.  My only indoor hobby is the guitar (unless napping is a hobby...) so I've been doing more of that lately.  Otherwise, I'll continue to wait impatiently for the sun to reappear.

  21. The post is supposed to be just a post.... the pumpkin is the target, see the top left in this picture. Some people prefer a different sight picture. This image shows 3-dot sights, but he idea is the same with a peep/aperture/ghost ring sight. Image 1 is as I describe, pumpkin on a post. The bullet hits the center of the bull which is slightly above the top of the post. This allows you to see most of the target. Image 2 is more common with blade type sights where the bullet hits directly on top of the post. Image 3 is what I believe is sometimes called a "fine bead" where the bullet hits below the top of the post. I don't like this one because it obscures too much of the target... you can't see what you're shooting at.
  22. 100rd value packs for under $30 is a good deal.  I'm a bit surprised they let you have all 5 boxes.
  23. By "hard to judge for elevation"... do you mean just using a hold-over to compensate for bullet drop (aka KY windage)?   I try to set my irons for the "pumpkin on a post" zero.  That allows you to move the front sight up/down within the aperture to adjust for elevation.  You can also get front sight posts in various widths to suit your preference.
  24. Indeed. Thankfully ours are only on a delay today. Hopefully it'll begin to dry out. I believe the golf clap would have been appropriate at that moment...
