  1. I was thinking more along the lines of less people period.
  2. I'm curious what he's pushing against to get it to work?
  3. Apparently I have a thing for yugos. An opap has been screaming at me for quite a while. Unfortunately it's just not in the cards at the moment. A fairly rare occasion in which I wish i was eligible for overtime.
  4. Either that or a DAU error. ;)
  5. I hope it works out for you, though I will say that living 45 mins from the nearest walmart has a certain appeal, especially these days.
  6.     Right.  The 5.45 wobbles significantly in flight.  That's one of the reasons why the bullet causes so much tissue damage.  It's possible that the velocity is reduced enough with a short barrel that the bullet does indeed tumble.
  7. That pesky A/M gets everyone from time to time.  :)   You might be able to get the lens repaired as well.  Thought it may or may not be worth it, depending on the value of the lens.
  8. If you get a peep sight, get one that mounts at the back of the receiver, close to the eye.   Once upon a time there was a thread here with some absolutely gorgeous leather slings and butt stock ammo pouches.  Probably too late to get one for Christmas, but they sure were nice.   found it...  http://www.levergunleather.com/p_buttstock_covers.htm
  9.   And yet no apparent limit to the stupidity of auto correct.  Go figure.

    DSLR's

This.  A lens hood and a UV protector are always a good idea.
  11. Possibly not your style of music, but this lyric reminds me of a couple bible verses and resonates with me.        This is our first Christmas season without the last two grandmothers.  Hang in there.
  12.   ... and brake/break, affect/effect, they're/their/there, your/you're, who's/whose, ....
  13.     Yikes.  That's not gonna end well.    Following the guy all the way to his house and stopping outside was stupid, but not as stupid as what happened next.
  14.   To me, the engine/trans swap is step 1.  Big mud tires (and the typical use) will kill the 305/auto in short order.
  15. Additional humor....   http://62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinHumor.htm
  16. Sounds like a place I'd never go anyway, but definitely not now.    A dress code... at a restaurant??  I understand the concept of decorum, but this situation is just plain ignorant.
  17. That's some really creepy photoshop work. Nice critter!
  18. Are you sure it's the body and not the lens?   I'd also be hesitant to crack open the case.  Could be a bad or broken contact/connector in the shutter button.  But even if you find it, it's probably so small that you'd need specialized tools to fix it.  Does Nikon offer repair/refurbishment services?
  19. Does it try to focus but can't or doesn't try at all?
  20. Heh, my wife calls them hobo packs. Building a fire pit in the back yard is on my Christmas break "to do" list.
  21. Lack of punctuation and understanding of the concept of paragraphs annoys the crap out of me. And yes, I think it's got as much to do with lazy as it does stupid.
  22. I'm not a big believer. Shoot a handful, clean it and don't worry about it. Most rifles shoot more consistently when they're somewhat dirty, .22's in particular.
  23. Shot placement is key. Some big critters have been taken out with a .22lr and a miss with a .50BMG is still a miss.
  24. Did you configure the jumpers so that the PC knows it a slave?
