Hard to find anyone to fill those shoes....compassionate, decisive, wise, AND funny.

Way to go, Rob!!!!! That is a work of art, brother.

My work has that same rule, but we don't even have an unarmed security guard. I can't tell you if there is a sign on the doors or not...I don't recall every looking for one.

I prefer pocket carry overall due to comfort. I use to only pocket small guns (Kel-Tec P-32 and LCP), but I've also never been made with a Ruger SP101 or a Sig P365 in my pocket either. Even with dress pants in church nobody notices the Sig.

That looks great! If you wore that to the final interview, I can see how you got the job.

My wife hears me say "one of my friends on TGO said this/that" so often that she probably doesn't realize I've only met a handful of you.

I'd rather hire somebody here than rolling the dice searching any other way. Worked good for Angie's List.

I wish I'd brought a wider range of ammo, like you did.

As @NoBanStan said, I had a couple of issues with my P-09C today too. It only locked open with one round left in the mag once, but I had a LOT of light primer strikes. It might be the Monarch ammo, because it didn't happen when I switched to some cheap Blazer aluminum rounds. I also had a couple of incidents when it didn't wanna go into battery without a bump when changing mags too. That didn't give me the warm and fuzzies I was hoping for 1st time shooting it. As far as accuracy goes, I got my Holosun EPS dialed in within 2 or 3 rounds and it was as accurate and easy to shoot as I could ever hope for. I'm guardedly optimistic that a good clean/lube and better ammo will give me more confidence in this gun, but for now, I sure as heck ain't gonna carry it.

George Foreman, heavyweight boxing champion and entrepreneur, dead at 76!

I just heard about that too. I hate to hear it, but he's in the Lord's hands now. -
They should be hunted down and made an example of.

The previous owner must've loved them. He planted 10 in the back yard just inside the fence line and never trimmed them back. Now they're 30+ years old and sprawled as wide as they are tall.

I'm extremely risk-averse, so single stocks, day trading, and stock trends scare the heck out of me. I'm with you guys touting index funds. It's the only time I value diversity for diversity's sake alone.

I used to have an NC700x and for my taste, it's one of the best commuter bikes out there and I almost never got under 65 mpg no matter how aggressively I rode it. If there's a Yamaha Super Tenere in that price range, it would be my first choice though. I've never ridden a more comfy bike. Mine is a 2012 and runs better than the day it rolled off the line.

Personally, I think Mora knives are the best bang for your buck in all the knife world. I think I have 5 or 6 of them.

If I were a betting man and there was some way to prove it, my money would be on the trigger being moved in the vast majority of cases and a statistically significant, but not widespread, minority of the cases being design/mfg reasons like tolerance stacking and/or design flaws. In the IT world we get tons of reports of software issues and when the QA team follows the repro steps and cannot reproduce the error, we blow it off if. Has anyone reproduced the error? I honestly don't know, but I can't find a video where someone demonstrates an uncommanded discharge. The closest thing I've found is the video below. It looks to me like one of the other officers contacted the weapon in the other officer's holster.

I like a good 3D animated explanation. I watched this twice and I'm stumped. Where at in this sequence do folks think the failure is happening when the trigger is not pulled?

And welcome TGO and the freedom-loving, gun-owning age.

SHTF - my first choice would be my kukri because size matters, LOL, but I can get more done with my Victorinox Huntsman.

True story, I think my dad may have taken that photo with his Kodak Brownie Hawkeye.

I outgrew getting drunk when I was in my 20s. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed a drink or 2 in social situation up until a few years ago. I jumped on that teetotaler bandwagon and learned a few "friends" couldn't find time to hang out in a sober setting. I think Toby Keith might've been singing about me.

yeah, I'm worried about the way that part is written too...sounds like it'd be legal to shoot the neighbor's kid for taking a shortcut across my yard to get to the school bus, which would be nuts

NVM, found what I was looking for.

I got a chance to shoot at an 18" steel popper at 100 yds in a firearms class once. The instructor was a Glock guy and didn't like me bringing my SA/DA CZ P-01. When I missed 3 times with my CZ P-01, he proceeded to hit the target on his first shot with my pistol in DA mode. I was quite impressed and it sold me on the idea that skill is more important than equipment.
