  1. ^ this is the best path forward I see from where we currently are. Conveniently or Unfortunately depending on the topic at hand that day the ATF changes it's mind all the time.
  2. Looking at what's currently in place, it seems that they will possibly have to rewrite the definition of automatic fire. Which is where I have a problem with legislators messing with this topic. A few mis-strokes of the pen and a simple crisp yet short reset competition trigger such as my geissele S3G is gone as well b/c it can be used to fire "more rapidly".
  3. Well unlike an actual full auto where the hammer is held and released as the action cycles a bump stock attempts to let the recoil drive back the entire gun simulating the rate of fire of full auto. With a full auto as engineered all the parts are internal and calculated to function in this manner when full auto is selected on the selector. On a semi auto gun with a sliding stock the entire gun must move. Everything attached to the upper and lower save the stock itself becomes cyclic. Compound that with the ammo's recoil needing to be quite consistent for high rates of fire and you get several potential failure points. Having owned an M16 in my youth and a slidfire equipped AR for a brief while I can tell you the reliability and accuracy of the two weapons systems is night and day. Not that any of that matters when you're firing from an elevated position into an unarmed crowd of 20k.
  4. I only wish to speak to the assumed cameras all over casinos and las vegas hotels. As someone who has installed cameras for a casino/hotel I can tell you that they are very security aware but not in the way of a government building or military installation. Each craps table inside may have a total of 6 or 7 camera angles on it some some being very high power PTZ or IP cameras with VERY HIGH resolution lenses. Each floor of the attached hotel I installed had a pair of very simple IP cameras on each LONG hall and a camera at each elevator bank/stairs exit. Not to play to the conspiracy theory's per-say but at the casino I installed one would only have had to disable 2 or three cameras max to make a clean getaway into the stairwell from a room once the building is being evacuated.
  5. Saw earlier the room contained both .223 and .308 rifles, i'll try to dig up the source. "The suspicion, based on initial reports, is that at least one of the rifles used was altered to function as an automatic weapon, the official said. Among the weapons found were a .223 caliber and a .308 caliber." Source-http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/02/us/las-vegas-attack-stephen-paddock-trnd/index.html
  6. Well according to Google local guides my pics of the facility at Strategic Edge have been viewed around 10k times! So I guess a few people have noticed I visit the range, though not as often as I'd like to.
  7. https://dl.safety.tn.gov/_/ Can also renew online now, saving the need to step foot int a DMV or otherwise. Lifetime renewal isn't on the site yet though. :/
  8. lol, for the longest while I had "starlord" set as my name in my starbucks app just to see if the baristas on campus would shout it out.
  9. Willis, my chefs are still grinning about how sharp the ones you sharpened for us are. They are holding that edge great!
  10. There's a place for both, In the BMW world it's not uncommon for an e30 M3's original engine's rebuild to top $20k hence many have been swapped with modern less maintenance intense motors that make more horsepower. Making the car both more fun to drive and less costly to maintain.
  11. I got kinda bored with mine for a while, then I got hooked on lost PLA casting. Now I want to take more backyard casting classes. Nothing like printing and pouring some small intricate parts you couldn't make on the CNC.

  13. I filed several more suppressor forms on paper at the last minute on the 12th. The one I received yesterday is the last of my efiled forms I was waiting to come back. I have no clue how long I'll be waiting for the paper copies. . .
  14. Recieved the 4th form 1, submitted 7/3 approved 4/11! Time to start on the mpx sbr project.
  15. Looks great! Counting the days until my mpx's form 1 comes back. . .
  16. Ammo cans, most are locked up in an old vending machine in the garage I converted to a light duty ammo safe.
  17. I efiled 4 on 7/2 and 7/3 and 3 on 7/12 via paper IIRC. Looks like they are about caught up on the efiled ones that got in before the eforms system went down.
  18. Got another back this morning Form 1 SBR Submitted 7/2/2016 Approved 3/29/2017
  19. As readily available as the AR lowers are and at the prices they are going for it's not really worth the effort to most. Now, I'd be down to finish a few sig frames, an mp5 kit, or a 1911 or two.
  20. Got two more back this morning. Form 1 Suppressors x2 submitted 7/2/2016 Approved 3/28/2017 hopefully the sbr forms are just behind. . .
  21. Good stuff but very tedious to correct the paint and get applied.
  22. Sure, but I can't draw the gun on my hip while seat belted. So I have a second mounted to the console. Saves me having to draw/reholster my carry piece as I enter/exit my truck.[emoji854]
  23. Honestly, few places will let you try holsters on, and even if they do it' hard to get a appreciation for what will work best for your situation in 5 min standing in a store. That's why many of us have drawers full of old/less used/tried before holsters. I probably bought a dozen over the past decade for my p229 trying to comfortably carry it all the time. I eventually came to realize that as much as I love the way it shoots, and it's capacity it just didn't fit for my everyday carry in some situations. Hence the search for a smaller gun that landed me with the p238. For me it carry's great, shoots really well for it's size, and is sufficient for when I can't carry my preferred p229. Of my officemates that I know carry, one ended up with an LCP to fill the same role the other a p238 after shooting mine. There's no one right answer for everyone, hence the variety in the holster and handgun market place. My best advise is to post up a WTB in the classifieds with the gun you're looking for holsters for(or in the pay it forward thread), I bet there's at least one of us who has one for it in a drawer somewhere already that might just let it go to a potential good new home cheap. 24. Galco Maimi for the shoulder holster, but that's typically only when I'm driving the wife's car or a rental. In mine the holsters mount to the center console. Clothing and where I'm going most often decide. In jeans I'm either in a supertuck style with my p229 or p239, or an OWB holster with a cover garment. In khakis I go to a pocket holster for my p238. Scrubs a bellyband with the p238.
