  1. So for Christmas in a gift exchange I received a BRCC gift certificate. I don't typically drink coffee, mainly from horrible experiences grabbing coffee when I absolutely require caffeine in the hospital in the wee hours of the morning. Anyway, after seeing it mentioned here I decided to order some to try rather than re-gift it to a coffee loving friend. BEST DECISION EVER. I've loved them, fear not though, I'm not one to try one or two samples and recommend an entire brand. I've liked 4 of 5 that I've tried so far and can heartily recommend all I've tried thus far.
  2. Careful, Zaya just changed the blend in this neo classic last fall. The label and the age statement both changed luckily making it easy to spot the new bottles. Gone is the "12 year old rum" changed to "a blend of 12 aged rums". New- VS Old- I'm currently stuck on Zacapa 23yr Solera. It's good for the price(around $50) and great straight or mixed. For slightly more affordable standouts, I prefer Plantation Barbados 5 yr, Pampero Aniversario Reserva Exclusiva in the $30ish range.
  3. m9a3 produced currently are now rolled Gallatin, TN. I shot a friends a few weeks ago at the range.
  4. It can hold any of the long guns I typically vehicle carry. Currently setup for my 7" SBR but easily holds almost any rifle I've tried, save for rifles with extremely high/large scopes/mounts.
  5. No, you cannot legally construct a rifle with shorter than 16" barrel without first filing a form 1 and paying the maker tax for the stamp then waiting for AFT approval to be returned. All the 80% lower would do for you is limit the lower to a single set of engraving, rather than the maker of the firearm AND the maker of the SBR. The trust owning the lower changes what is engraved but not the need to engrave nor the need for ATF approval and tax payment,(the name of your trust vs your name) and who can be in possession of it depending on how the trust is written and who you choose to list in it.
  6. It isn't unless you're looking for it really. In my previous vehicle I had the headliner recovered in black and it practically disappeared. Without prompting though from what I've seen most people standing next to a vehicle look down into it rather than up at it's headliner.
  7. Just behind the back row's heads. The side curtain airbags for the back seat come down from above so I had to mount it behind them. It can be reached with a long reach over the center console from the front seat(not while driving obviously), or from standing at the rear cargo door. This shot shows how the side curtains are arranged in this truck. You can actually also see the small metal outrigger just behind the airbags I mounted my rack to as well. The rack is by http://www.bigskyracks.com/ 1
  8. As a member of society, you can be part of the change you want to see within it. I've had a rifle rack in my truck for nearly 3 years now. Strange how those around me went from thinking it was odd to thinking it was normal over time. I've trained the scouts I work with that it OK to have a fire extinguisher, a rifle, and an extremely well stocked FAK in your car/truck as an adult. It's called "being prepared". I just moved the rifle rack to my new truck in fact over the weekend.
  9. Mine stays on the back of the console. It's mounted via a Blackhawk QD setup. This allows me to change the holster or if I park and leave my pistol I can remove the entire holster with the gun and pop it in the glovebox. View of the back of the console- View from the drivers seat- View of the QD setup with the pistol removed in holster-
  10. My new upper came in. . . now just waiting on some paperwork to finish up the rest of my two stamp tramps. S3v3n by Erik, on Flickr
  11. A large component of good customer service is within management both empowering the employee to provide it and encouraging it when they do. I've been at many big box stores where it's obvious the regional/national overlords have tied the store manager's hands when it comes to actually doing anything to improve a bad situation.
  12. @Capbyrd You just let me know exactly how fast your wallet wants to go and I can get you all set up. Untitled by Erik, on Flickr Untitled by Erik, on Flickr Untitled by Erik, on Flickr Untitled by Erik, on Flickr
  13. ^That's as fast as I keep around the house. Any faster daily gets me in trouble. If I need faster short term I just drive a car home from the shop.
  14. There's an rifle in the truck for a reason, if I'm planning to enter a gunfight I'm bringing it. If not I'll likely have my 380 in my pocket as a last defense.
  15. The organization- http://www.friendsofsycamoreshoals.org/ The State Park they support- http://tnstateparks.com/parks/about/sycamore-shoals
  16. That does explain them trying to get rid of current inventory at discount prices. Possibly also explains the 30 day warranty as well, since they will no longer be manufacturing these models. Originally the warranty was 7 years, but it's hard to provide parts for a cooler you can't manufacture anymore due to a legal ruling.
  17. Got mine on yesterday, nice to have a twin in town.
  18. Recently started ordering from jet.com for stuff we used to subscribe and save, seems cheaper most of the time.
  19. Yeah 30 days isn't much, but my last igloo was bought in '98 and lasted until I dropped it full of beer last fall. It was $30 at wally world. If this one lasts another 18 years before destruction or theft I'll be ecstatic.
  20. My mags were REALLY tight when new. Took several range trips before they would seat and the bolt would close 100% on a full mag. Now that I've got around 2k rounds through it all seem to have cleared up. Of my 10 mags it was worse with 4-5 of them than the others, I chalked this up to the others having been loaded/unloaded a few more times while I waited for the rest to come in.
  21. AS a resident of TN and business owner in IL there are 3 key reasons I still live here other than loving my day job. 1. The people (Nashville born and raised and while Southern IL is as close as you can get to the south in IL it just isn't the same) 2. The gun laws (Owning SBRs Suppressors, and Full auto weapons is a hoot, not to mention I can carry FAR more places here.) One small point in IL's favor here though, they got the signage bit of their carry law right. You can see those things from 100ft away! 3. The state's tax structure (the state income tax while not as bad as OR is still relevant. I would rather keep my cash in my pocket than give it to the government needlessly. This is amplified by the fact that ranked by fiscal responsibility TN falls inside the top 10 while IL is in the bottom 5.)
