I was like Runco, and have been looking for a long and researching for a long time. I was looking hard at four models--Springfield Loaded, Colt XSE, Sig Tacops, and Dan Wesson Heritage. The Sig has a lot of bang for the buck, but the pony won out. I can't want to play with it tomorrow. I ended up buying mine at Guns and Leather. I PM'd Daniel, and he gave me a good quote.

If you've ever lived through a police strike, it's not very pretty. Memphis had one in the late 70s and it was not good for the taxpayers. I would not suggest that, and I bet their union contract does not allow them to go on strike for this.

As reported by Breitbart: Just one day before President Obama announced sweeping changes that would allow potential American investment in Cuba, the Cuban government apparently had begun preparing itself by announcing new measures that would allow Cubans who work for foreign companies to keep only 8% of their salaries. In an official announcement in state newspaper Granma, government officials announced a system in which employees who work for corporations with foreign capital will be paid two Cuban Pesos for every Convertible Cuban Peso (CUC) the corporation actually pays them. The Convertible Peso (CUP) is almost exclusively for the use of tourists and is of significantly greater value; one CUC is the equivalent of an American dollar and the equivalent of 26.5 CUPs. The other 24 CUPs Cuban workers will not receive amount to 92% of their salaries. As Raúl Castro noted in his speech, the Cuban government made no concessions in this recent negotiation with the United States, save the freedom of Gross and one other American agent whom President Obama did not name, which leaves it open to sanctioning American companies who dare attempt to do business on the island as they see fit.

Well, after my 2 year contract was up with Direct TV, I called and wanted to cancel. They said how can we keep you as a customer. I said make me a deal, and they offered to let me keep my DVR, second receiver, and 200 channels for $72 per month. I can handle that.

HHGregg sales staff are 100% commission. They make their most commission off of their extended warranties. Whenever I've shopped there, I was followed constantly.

If you are an on-line retailer, and you market yourself as such, then you should be able to handle YOUR own Black Friday traffic. If you cannot, then do NOT try and say it was the consumers fault that your website crashes. This is the same company that for a long period of time did not protect your credit card data. I cannot fault consumers for negative comments towards them. It does not mean I wouldn't shop there. I just can't afford to purchase all of the deals Bud's has. :usa:

The SEC, or NCAA can't remember which, allowed piped in music in between plays beginning this season. It was that way at a UT game earlier this season.

That is a beautiful 1911, and a great price. Do you plan on leaving it in that condition, or modifying it? I've been looking for a 1911, and really like the looks of this one. I also the XSE models too. Congrats!!!

Cleaning smoke smell out of house (wall cleaning solution)
JPR1959 replied to maroonandwhite's topic in General Chat
Do you want to paint the walls 3 times? I'd try the primer based paints, and say it looked great after two coats. If my wife complained about it, I'd hand her a brush. :ugh: -

Most stores offer paint with primer already in them. Two coats and you should be good. My old house had popcorn ceilings, and I painted everyone of them before I moved in. I hate painting now with a passion. I pay people to paint now. -
If I was in the market for the XDm, I'd jump on that deal. What about a Dan Wesson Heritage??? :usa:

I've been debating this for a few months, and looking at various forums too. The Sigs have tons of value for their price range. I've narrowed it down to four. Springfield Loaded--priced around $750. Lifetime warranty. Nice looking 1911, not tons of features though Sig 1911 Tacops--priced $800 and up. Lots of features like a magwell and front strap serrations Colt XSE--priced $950. The horse is nice, but some plastic parts. Dan Wesson Heritage--priced $1050. No MIM parts. I wish it was blue instead of stainless.

JPR1959 replied to sgtyork's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I just ordered 5000 rounds for $209 from my FFL brother. He said it might take up to a year to get though. It will probably cost that much to ship!!! :ugh: -
I don't know if anyone's posted this, but we all know this is Bush's fault. :puke:

Can you not get a 90 day supply and mail order it? Most insurance companies offer mail order prescriptions usually at a great savings to the consumer.

A private business, or in this case a gun range, can cater to anyone they see fit regardless of their race, creed, or religion. Private businesses can also turn away anyone they want as well. Just go and try to play golf at a country club. You can't play there. There used to be private clubs in dry counties all around Texas so people could legally drink, but if you weren't a member, you couldn't enter. A public gun range, like Stones River, has to cater to anyone.

You can try and legislate out racism, but that has been a complete failure thus far. I don't condone racism, but to deny it exists is idiotic. If I had my own business, I can and would tell people I didn't like to leave. This is not breaking the law. If someone doesn't like it, they would be free to spend their money elsewhere. Just try to open up a BBQ restaurant near a mosque, and see how far that gets you. Our rights are being lost while we try to not hurt every groups feelings.
-
Private clubs are just that--private. If they want to discriminate, or only cater to certain groups, then that is their legal right to do so. Just try to go into a mosque for a visit and see how that goes. Country clubs are private, and most don't have a problem with that.

Kroger is unionized. Anyone that says otherwise is wrong. Kroger had 338,000 employees at the end of fiscal year 2010, with a “majority†being unionized, primarily by the UFCW and Teamsters. (Source: Kroger’s 10-K report for fiscal year 2010, Part I Item 1, p. 2)
