Misuse of funds with some fraudulent documentation. Outrageous, yes; prosecute to the fullest extent, yes; hold to a higher standard considering the trust factor that comes with the job, yes. The extra marital affair is a non issue in this moral land of ours. The spouse acquiesces while it's happening because of the benefits of high office. Strange basis for a relationship.

BTW, in my holster, with the 24 hour cure time, the leading edges seem more adhered this morning vs. last night

New install or existing? During research of negative reviews I discovered reports of failures beginning as soon as 4-6 months and others lasting 1-2 years. What isn't clear is the frequency of use. Welcome to TGO!

If you've made a decision to start with a revolver, go for it, I started carrying with one. For practice, familiarity and home defense, I'd suggest a full(er) sized .357 in lieu of a compact and or lightweight. I shoot primarily .38 in my .357s, with a +p loading for SD. Or perhaps one in 9mm. Harder to find but if you do add a 9mm semi auto, you have ammo compatibility. It's also cheaper to practice with. A 9mm revolver will be cut for moon clips or have a tricky little spring loaded mechanism built into the ejector assembly. I agree with the opinions a semi auto is a superior choice in a fight. More bullets, faster reloads. Also agree that she go try before you buy. If not shootin', and least see how it fits. The term 'combat revolver or combat magnum' would be slick marketing, if it was still 1899. I know, have one. I have an SP101 cut for moon clips, cool feature, I never use them, the HKS reloaders work well for me and is my preferred method. Since do not regularly or routinely carry my revolvers (but have used them extensively in the past) my reloads are smooth and way too slow. With limited practice, not so speedy strips are great for carrying extra ammo and reloading in non critical situations. New or used Ruger, S&W, and other brand name are all pretty safe bets.

Other than my property, I'm not likely to confront, even if I deem their actions suspicious. Suspicious behavior does not necessarily mean danger or criminal activity. I witness crime against property, I'm more likely report to the owner or LE than confront. Desperate people do desperate things. I pray I never have to witness and / or become involved in physical crimes against the sheep.

After watching the Jared Reston video, I thought it would be a good idea to follow his advice and improve the grip on my 75B. While I've not yet had any circumstance to result in poor hand to grip contact, the front and back strap on a stock 7B are silky smooth. So I googled grip tape, did my research and landed on www.tractiongrips.com I like the rubberized texture and the cut is nearly perfect for a clear, professional, and yes, cool look. Installation is simple; here was my process: Make gun safe, remove grip panels, clean with grain alcohol or equivalent non residue cleaner, align tape with backing on, peel backing as you continue to align allowing gravity adhesion only (don't press down) once all backing removed and satisfied with alignment, gently press down starting from the center and work out. NOTE: glue is heat activated, so if it's cold, you have greater ability to break the light gravity adhesion for best alignment. I did this on my porch at 40 degrees. Hit it with Mrs GtG's hairdryer and with increasing pressure, massaged the grip tape into the complex curves and leading edges. NOTE: Mrs GtG's hairdryer is a piece of crap, she needs a newer, better model...good gift idea results from a gun project. From my research, tips for success: Proper cleaning and prep of surface area, heat activated adhesive, allow to cure for 24+ hours before handling. After I shoot, I may remove some material from the back strap as it rolls into the beaver tail. I also will end up with a heat gun after I replace her hair dryer.

Just in Case you Were Thinking about Buying a SCOTTeVEST
A.J. Holst replied to volshayes's topic in General Chat
A vest with extra pockets, real innovation. Don't target me, it's a Scottee vest, not a CCW vest! See my vest, see my vest, made from real gorilla chest... Ranks right up there for $50 for a t-shirt. -
For NIB, $700 plus, I want equitable quality with everything else in that price point. For $300 I can buy reliability with most brands.

Jared Reston - Winning an Armed Encounter
A.J. Holst replied to TGO David's topic in Training Discussions
I liked the 'here's what happened' format along with what was learned (proving and disproving myth) from a gun fight and being shot. For me, it reinforces don't get in a violent fight, armed or otherwise. Dealing with Pests comes to mind. If I do get it a fight, he's right, I have to win. No prize for second place. As an aside, I am reading Fairbairn's Get Tough, he strongly recommends staying off the ground. -
Dusting in Seymour, roads look clear but haven't been out to check for ice

A few weeks ago I posted the killer drone simulation video. It appears the technology is not as futuristically sci-fi as I thought https://www.defensenews.com/air/2017/01/10/pentagon-launches-103-unit-drone-swarm/ https://www.armytimes.com/news/your-army/2018/01/08/drone-swarm-tactics-get-tryout-for-infantry-to-use-in-urban-battlespace/

Organized shooting sports at Oak Ridge Sportman's Assn. ORSA Haven't been to the flea market in years, but still open. Regarding gun shows, same stuff different city would come to mind. I go to one or two a year for something to do.

Goodbye Russian ammunition
A.J. Holst replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Buy Serbian? Aim Surplus has PPU in most calibers at a fair pricing. My experience with .30cal, .303, 7.62x25, .380, and 9mm has been good. -
Seymour (Blount County corner) mailing address. Assume shooter friendly, I hear gunfire from time to time. I am too residential to safely (though legal) to shoot. I head over to the in-laws in South Knox county to shoot. Rural Sevier or Blount County should fit your needs assuming you are willing to travel 20-30 minutes to the corner store. I believe Sevier County still has lower property taxes than Blount. Come on home!

A box of whup-@$$ to go with the frozen urine

Broken record here; 75B Omega with work by Cajun Gun Works. Thought the P10C could be the replacement, 75 continues to win.

What guns, gear or training are in your crosshairs for 2018?
A.J. Holst replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
I've seen new and used 75Bs at both Bud's and SMKW in Sevierville and SIAn West Knox. I saw the new convertible 75B Omega online, I am unfortunately too invested in my current model. -
nOrfl, you are correct, as a customer, the business should cater to you. I'm not sure how a small brick and mortar can adjust their business model to sustain competing on price vs. online. "If price is less important, what is most important, quality or service?"

Why should an LGS give a discount for a potential one and done? I know the customer doesn't give 2 flying f***s if retailer makes any profit, until the retailer goes out of business. Big box / internet retailers do not offer FFL transfers, why begrudge the LGS for a performing service .gov forces and no one else offers?

What guns, gear or training are in your crosshairs for 2018?
A.J. Holst replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
For guns, I want to get the M1 carbine to reliable status, the Walther PPS m2 has piqued my curiosity, and perhaps add a theta trigger to the P10C. Adding a stabilizing brace to the PPS-43c is also penciled in. Gear wise, other than buying ammo, I think I am in good shape. Training is also penciled in for spring and fall/winter. The snowflake in me avoids summer exertion. -
Not ice, frozen urine
-
To start with a comedic note "...I studied psychology, so I'm right in there..."
-
After the M1 carbine went down, my current confidence level for use as for HD / PDW dropped considerably. Until I re-commit to testing after fixing, I want to mount my Burris FF3 on my M&P Sport II. Standard fixed front sight with flip-up rear. Height to co-witness? Thanks as always for your collective help and guidance!

This is a simulation though I urge you to view to the end and listen to the comments of Stewart Russell at 3:55 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuart_J._Russell Leave Asimov's Laws where they belong, on the pages and in the fantasy of science fiction.
