  1. And some more $$ to spend. Found a new railed handguard advertised to dissapate the heat.
  2. If you know anybody with a Ruger Blackhawk .30, they may be interested in the Wolf steel.
  3. Comparing the FA extractor to the two previous OEM, it appears to be slightly higher quality in manufacture. Garufa / Craig, thanks for the heads up on the steel cased!
  4. During the week, I wear a sport coat or suit. Having tried 7-9 o'clock iwb which I don't like and the necessity to be concealed has me shying away from owb. My current solution is pocket or ankle carry a Kimber Micro .380. I can easily carry 2 extra mags, but in the event of a reload during a gunfight, I'd rather have more capacity. Off work, I've got my trusty 75B. Yep, full size duty pistol, but I keep coming back to it. Shoulder Holster popped into my brain as an alternative. Talk me out of it or help me with a rig. Pistol options: 75B, P01, Glock 19 cut to a 26. Dare I ask about a "universal fit" system?
  5. I can neither confirm nor deny my gun totin' condition during work hours... Like Reef, against my Cali based company rules and some of my clients post.
  6. My opinion only, compared to a 75 variant, the P10C is ok. Compared to it's peer group, it's as good or better depending on preference. Very attractive price point as well
  7. If this is true, folks should be in prison https://twitchy.com/jacobb-38/2018/03/15/um-this-testimony-is-gonna-be-a-problem-for-those-blaming-the-gop-and-nra-for-all-gun-violence-ever/
  8. My off work hours EDC is a 75B. Build, belt, holster, and attire make it possible for me. Also have a P-01. Both have had some internal work, I prefer the 75B; slightly better feel in my hand and like the omega trigger. Like them both better than my P10C which is a pretty nice gun.
  9. Died again, trying to resurrect. Extractor failed, was new old stock. Under a loop I can't tell is there is any crystalization. Ordered new manufacture from Fulton Armory, all parts and pieces to rebuild the bolt again. Reaching expert level on this thing. Hopeful this will resolve my problem, I prefer shooting it over my AR...it's more satisfying...
  10. I compared the Ruger and the Smith. I think the Ruger has nicer fit and finish. At the time, I wasn't willing to pay $100 extra $499 vs. $599. Since then, have seen the Ruger for around $500.
  11. Craig, I have an MP Sport II and it's probably the only AR I'll need or buy. No frills, rock solid Should do most all you want it to do for $500
  12. I remember my first purchase and the thrill of the hunt, it was the beginning of the sub-$500 wave Googled the crap out of 1911 and found the Metro Arms. Googled the crap out of Metro Arms. Discovered a known member here (Dolo) was an owner. Purchased a Commander with all the mim bells and whistles at the Knox gun show. Shot it, carried it, went back to the CZ, now it sits in the safe. But I got one, probably need to get one in 9mm
  13. Welcome to the best forum thanks to better people than me
  14. I was curious when 12ish million 18-21 year olds would realize their rights were stripped with no due process.
  15. Aim Surplus has been a good source for my fmj ammo; .223, .380, 9mm. Have also picked .303, .30 carbine, .38/.357, and 7.62x25 at competitive prices.
  16. Craig, I resisted for years as well. Had equivalent long guns that shot real sized bullets and everyone else has an AR. Then they got cheap, I ended up with an M&P 15. Ammo is easy to find, easy to shoot with no recoil, and get one while it's still possible.
  17. Service / therapy critters have their place. If that place includes traveling outside your home, it should be a well trained and behaved animal. Remember the pet monkey that ripped it's owner's face off? Consider a crisis environment - fire, car crash, explosion...you are unconscious and hurt and your service animal, especially a dog with unearned red vest, is able to act reasonably normally and identify first responders as good guys?
  18. Trying to sell them for his brother's widow.
  19. I haven't been to Dick's in years, now I have a great reason never to visit.
  20. https://pjmedia.com/jchristianadams/horses-pigs-turkeys-planes-thanks-eric-holder/
  21. I too keep thinking about the Reston video. Handgun bullets do weird things in a human body and meat hits don't take folks out of the fight. Critical, non-CNS hits give the perp a few more seconds to try to kill you. If I primarily carried a 5 shot snub, I'd practice a lot...doubtful I'll have time to reload. I would probably keep shooting until they were longer in my sight picture.
  22. A little more detail: Overnight to hotel, extended weekend trips with Mrs GtG Throw it in the trunk when appropriate. Not necessarily a get out of Dodge pack. With the gear retained from Scouting and boat ownership, I should be able to repurpose quite a few items. Cash? Repurpose, it's not being cheap, it's innovation in thriftiness.
  23. I received a Ogio laptop backpack. In my professional life, I'm not a backpack kind of guy, leather accessories are more my speed. Since I like to repurpose, this should work well. Need help on my kit. Please list common items I should stock, if you include a link to the product, I would appreciate it!
  24. Safe travels Doug, hope all is well! Mrs GtG headed off at 8am. A day off rarely results in sleeping past 630-645.
  25. With the workload of indoctrination, when is there time for consistent training on top of routine practice? Throwing out the liability conversation, continuos learning is a commitment in time and finances. I don't have SWAT-like training to proactively take the fight to an active shooter and not a fan of handgun vs. long gun. I would have to step my game to train in the environment I am most likely to use my firearm. In the other post, it was mentioned Wal-Mart partnered with Texas State University to create Avoid, Deny, Defend. It is the current Active Shooter video presented by LEO to financial institutions. At about 7:40, I gained additional justification for a good gun belt. From the LASP
