  1. Mods can delete this if its too much. So I named my broadcast Col. Angus one time. It's from a SNL skit. If you don't know it, (Google it before reading further.) My neighbor who was a Lt Col retired back in the late 70s. He passed just over a year ago and was a good friend since we both were in Armor . We all called him "Colonel," not many knew his real name. After his passing my other neighbor asked me if I had gone to Col Angus's funeral. OMG! I'm assuming it was the Col. part that threw him off, but I never corrected him. I've since changed it.
  2. I change friends names all the time. Seems a lot of routers have the default password. :)
  3. "The General Social Survey is administered by NORC at the University of Chicago, primarily using in-person interviewing"   Enough said.

    Garand Help!?

Serial number is as said. The Garand community wants the barrel date within a year or so of the receiver. (Pull back op rod and look on barrel.)   The rest of the parts have draw numbers. Those all can be replaced with year correct ones if they have been changed out. Barrel and receiver dates are what we look for when buying one.    As said before the bayonet has been cut. The "blood groove" not ending gives it away.  The groove is for manufacturing purposes not blood. The scabbard is a factory 10 inch. An earlier cut down scabbard plastic would come straight out of the metal and not have the little interruption on either sides.    Garands are just plain cool, keep it forever.

    Dollywood

Probably the most family appropriate park in the US.   Plan around Rod Runs and you should be happy.  Eat before you go into the park, fill your pockets with snacks not your bags.    "Alcohol and Weapons Weapons and alcoholic beverages are not permitted on Dollywood Property." http://www.dollywood.com/themepark/guest-services/faq.aspx Almost forgot, don't wear a white shirt on the coal fired train.
  6. Idiot story writers. So there's a line from the writer, then a quote that says something different. I am the English police today. Lt. Earl Barnes was providing security and his gun accidentally went off when it hit the floor. "His handgun caught on the chair, and as he stood up, he realized that his gun was falling out," Arnold said, "And he went to grab it before it hit the floor. And when he did, he accidentally discharged a round off into the floor."
  7. I sent a revolver back to Ruger in January this year. They emailed me a FedX label, it also had the RMA number printed on it. Dropped it out at the FedX store. Being the revolver was replaced I had to receive it at an FFL. Maybe different operation states have different rules? I know revolvers go north, semi pistols go west and rifles go east I believe.j
  8. You should tell people you fought off a bear, while rescuing stranded hikers sheltering in a cave on the mountain. Busted ankles need to heal right, or you'll pay later.
  9. That's a cool ride. I bought another cycle about four weeks ago. Planning my spring trip now. I want to do the Tennessee leg of the TAT since I'm limited on time. Any Adventure ride takers?
  10. I'm currently pushing hot water back through the garage sink in hopes I can clear the cold line. But right now my water is off completely for unknown reasons. I had good pressure before service was turned off so I'm hoping to just clear the line. Dag it's cold. If anyone around Sevierville needs help holler at me.
  11. Call the store and complain. Probably on video.
  12. For some reason the image of dad jeans pops into my head. I hope that's not the case.
  13. Holstons in Sevierville local place similar to an applebee's etc. Little Tokyo in Pigeon Forge, Blue Moose under Little Tokyo sports bar wings etc. (TVs play sports) Log Cabin Pancake House at the end of Pigeon Forge before the spur to G'Burg. Local old place get French Toast Royal. TJ Hannas in Pigeon Forge. Similar to applebees etc. Old Mill Creamery next to the Old Mill restaurant in Pigeon Forge.    These are places I frequent often, yes im local.
  14.   Thats great news. (Apparently Hell Froze over :)   I still haven't shot the snubby with the larger grips on it. I am convinced the larger grips will completely wash out the felt recoil on the snubby. Reason being, the three inch is absolutely a pleasure to shoot with any load.
  15. Id rather stay there than with my inlaws, just sayin.
  16. Boy, the 1911 makes the Glock look extra cheap.
  17. I don't blame the kid for squeezing a round or two off. Least he'll get three hots and his own cot in DCS custody. Instead of sharing a bed In a bug infested no tell motel.
  18. Here's the grips reversed on the LCRs. I havnt shot the snub with the biggers grip, but the three inch isn't as snappy as the snub is. I could shoot +Ps all day with the three inch. I would be hurting with a half a box of +Ps in the snubby. The extra finger lessons recoil magically. I def will get the larger grip for the snub, when hells freezes and Houge sells them.
  19. Take the plug out and soak the cylinder with WD or something for a few days before turning it over. Turn it over with the plug out, in gear, turning the back wheel.   Clean out the fuel bowl, make sure the jets aren't clogged. Clean the needle and seat and check the float level.    Change oil, then change it again after a good hot cycle.   If your old tank just has light rust I use a liquid like Metal Rescue. Metal Rescue is a water based liquid you fill the tank with and let it set a day, dump it back out through a coffee filter and reuse the liquid on whatever.    Home Depot has their own brand as do others im sure.
  20. I ditto doing it yourself. Farm out the engine if it doesn't run. I wouldn't start it until I went through the carb. Unless the carb was run dry the jets are clogged and the bowl is full of sludge that will clogg the jets, needle and seat need cleaned/replaced too. I do one or two restores a year for myself until I retire from my current job. I would certinally try to help you through the hard stuff if needed. I have several motorcycle jacks and you are more than welcome to use one forever. I'm doing a 79 CBX1000z right now, hope to run it at bonniville next year.
