  1. There was a Dunn’s in Grand Junction. They were teamed with Paul Jaeger gun builder and they had a gun room that was awesome. It was full of custom shotguns and rifles. Don’t know if they were connected or not.
  2. Looks absolutely delicious to me. These youngins don’t know what they’re missing.
  3. Oh hell yes. I’ve killed a truck load of deer with my Ruger Blackhawk in .44 mag. It’s a lot easier than toten a rifle.

    Pawpaw’s Remington 550-1 in .22. I was 14, I’m now 65. It’s still shoots great and looks like new.
  5. You can’t fix stupid. Maybe they thought it was a concealed 2” assault knife. OMG!
  6. You got lucky. You pulled the trigger on a grenade. I would bet good money that the previous round never made it out of the barrel. The next round made it out of the barrel with the previous round. That’s a ton of pressure and the gun gods were looking after you. I’ve shot Savage rifles for over 30 years and can tell you from experience they use to be ugly but they have always been built like a tank. Never, never, never fire a gun after you hear a light report in a shot. It normally means that the barrel is obstructed. im thankful that no one was injured.
  7. Get rid of the surface rust by using a carpenter’s pencil. Your gonna use the carbon end to gently rub the surface rust away. Wipe it down, oil it and love it. An old gunsmith and lifetime friend of mine showed me this years ago. You ain’t going for perfect cause that would just ruin it. The patina on the receiver is probably due to it’s owner carrying it for many years. I have my grandfathers and wouldn’t reblue it or refinish the stocks for the world. Beautiful specimen by the way. Let us know how it works out for you.
  8. I love my .22’s with walnut and blue. Now go light some matches.
  9. Just a little purdeyer than mine. Great price, I wouldn’t take that for mine. Sombodies gonna get a hell of a piece of AMERICAN History. If only they could talk.
  10. I’ve traded with SMG1 and everything has been like new. GLWS

Questions are to be used against you or stroke someone’s ego. Let us know what’s going on and record everything.
  12. It ain’t just you. There are few true craftsman left. I turned wrenches or thought mechanics how to turn wrenches for over 30 years. If any of them had shown up to work without their own tools, we just sent them packing. We used to be the strongest nation in the world but we are becoming a worldwide joke.

Did they legalize something while I was asleep?
  14. I have fat fingers. Enough said
  15. Well first off, welcome back. My brother was involved in an accident that broke his skull into 5 pieces. Even the doctors didn’t t expect him to make it. Today he has hardly any memory of the incident but does recall every day of rehab. It’s a long road and he was left with many scars and only small impairments in his abilities. He is now retired and spends tons of time at his local gun range. This has done him a world of good. I would strongly suggest you call your local range and get started. We don’t know what we can do till we try. I hope your continued recovery goes well. I know the smell of gunpowder has a healing effect.
  16. Anything Orvis is good stuff. St. Croissant is very good equipment. I have spoiled myself over the years and invested in Sage. Its, IMHO, some of the best made. I have fished the Kenai in Alaska, the Yellowstone in Wyoming and love fly fishing. My son and brother both live in Alaska and I’m retired FedEx, so my travel and lodging is really inexpensive. If I’m on the water, I’ve got a fly rod with me. It’s all my grandfather would let me use when fishing with him. If your gonna stay with it, spoil yourself. I’ve been in the brown water a bit this evening so I hope I’m making sense.
  17. I reload all of mine but dang. That’s some cheap shooting. GLWS.
  18. Whether you knew it or not, it was never about the fishing.
  19. Welcome to the jungle. Everyone I’ve met so far have been stand up guys.
  20. Just fine. Just not a fancy as the Thompson.
  21. Visit your local gun shop regularly. You will run into hunters, target shooter, self defense folks. Check your local social media for dove hunts and also ask about joining deer clubs. Join a gun club! You’ll find some old fart that doesn’t want to take all his hunting knowledge to the grave. My old fart taught me how to duck hunt and fly. We were thick as thieves before he passed. I’m now an old fart but don’t live anywhere near you. Good luck man.
