  1. is anyone else reloading for the 22 tcm ? i have been for around 5 yrs now . so what powders and bullets do you like ?
  2. Hey everyone. I am needing a recommendation for a 4” revolver. I am looking to buy my wife one for her birthday. Her favorite gun to shoot is my Dan Wesson model 15 short barrel but I think she will really like something longer. I had a smith model 19 that I liked but would like something 357 capable, she likes heavier guns and stainless. Should I be looking at the 686 or GP100 only? What are your thoughts? Under 1000 price range
  3. I was watching some reviews and in the next video I watch where some guy was watching Beretta's Youtube channel and in the background was an APX in a very thin single stack configuration with no light rail. Someone was test firing it in the background while the speaker was talking about trigger pull on striker guns.. He said he went back later to try to screen shot the picture of it and the video was taken down. I sure hope they go with more than 6 or 7 rounds. The APX double stack 9mm is an awesome gun. The only polymer pistol I'd say was up to Glock 17 standards and I'm a big Glock fan. Mine feels very thin even though its a double stack. I guess we will see in a few months.
  4. Not a fan of the cut out on the lower front of the grip for the magwell on the Gen 5 G19. Today I saw a G19 Gen5 MOS and it didn't have the cut out. Does anyone know if the standard G19's have switched to the "no cut out" frame? Thanks.
  5. This may have been posted here before , heck I may have posted this before but anyways , I just watched a few of the Mossberg pistol videos and everyone is so happy of how you don't have to pull the trigger to disassemble it. My question is this : Why the heck are so many people scared to pull the trigger to disassemble an EMPTY gun ? I have never understood this. It' so bad that some people wont buy Glocks and others like them. It isn't rocket science. Just clear the gun and take it apart. But now the new generation has taken over and making newer guns with things to where you don't have to pull that DANGEROUS TRIGGER. I honestly want to know what the big deal is . Clear the gun and you're good to go . Ok my rant is over .
  6. All the tauruses I ever owned have been fantastic. In fact, I have been trying to hunt down another TP 809 and the damn things are impossible to find. And no one has the TH9 instock as well. Just trying to figure out why all the animosity towards the brand.
  7. https://cz-usa.com/product/cz-scorpion-evo-3-s2-pistol-micro-w-brace/ According to the 2019 SHOT reps...this is finally at the front of the line and will be released first quarter of this year...after an 8 month delay.....was gonna get a scorpion but the money I would spend modifying one to look like this might as well wait for this one.
  8. I’ve been thinking of getting one but I see the current one is being discontinued for a newer milled slide that will take a DPP, RMR instead of just the Sig Romeo. Are the reflex sights being made not a generic style mount? Can anyone out there verify this? The newer model will end with R2 in the model number from what I have read on-line. The older model has dropped to around $650 on-line and from what I see the newer one will be at $800’s. I’m trying to decide if it’s worth it to pay for the newer model.....
  9. After research on this model, may look at getting one for cc. Good, bad and the ugly opinions please. Arthritis creeping into my hands, making racking slides more difficult. Have no problem carrying 32's or 380 pistol as self defense guns. Wife's hand are worse than mine so would be a good night stand gun for her also. Really like the simplicity of the Tomcat model.

  11. Hudson was originally supposed to display at SHOT Show but their area is empty and they were removed from the exhibitors list. Recoil reached out to them to ask about it and they responded that they couldn't afford to make the trip. They do mention being sued and having a dispute with a parts supplier. Recoil also found the lawsuit. The part supplier is claiming that they were not paid over 300,000 dollars for parts that they delivered. Hudson also lost an investor just before they were supposed to receive that funding. Hudson could be in serious trouble. Please read the article at the link to see more. Apparently they can't fix warranty guns and return them right now either. https://www.recoilweb.com/recoil-exclusive-hudson-responds-to-shot-no-show-145454.html
  12. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bs8dw8jBATc/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=1rzxvy0uwoubs Revealed at SHOT: HK VP9 longslide kit -- at last, a rival to the Walther Q5.
  13. I was REALLY wanting to go get a 1911. Posted on here and got great info (thank you), read online and was ready to go make it happen. Went to the gun store today. Someone was blocking the 1911 section so I looked at the used handguns while waiting. In the bottom corner of the case, I saw a HK USP45. Since I had never held one, I figured, why not. It was all over from there. Maybe next time I’ll get a 1911 but I couldn’t walk away from this one. Pretty sure it has never been shot or certainly not much. Off to the range tomorrow!

  15. A buddy bought a Walther 22 Pistol. I am not sure which model (think a PPQ or something). Main thing is he wanted a late model that had modifications (a captive recoil sporing - later models did, earlier models did not). He bought from Smoky Mtn Guns & Ammo in Sevierville. He got it home and found out it was an old model (verified a 2013). He called Walther, basically they verified it was a 2013 and said dealers often buy stock (large numbers) from a warehouse. He was pretty upset and went back to Smoky Mtn Guns. Gun manager was not in, a previous gun manger was in but now works in another area. He contacted the previous gun manger. That gun manger went down and verified that every Walther of that model was a 2013 (there is a code in the S/N I think). Anyway, net result was they agreed on a Trade In (full price trade) on a upgraded model (like $67 more). Smoky Mtn Gun AMMO absorbed the background Check for the new gun and friend said only ended up paying $23 difference. I AM PRETTY SURE I have the story correct as he described it. I AM NOT SAYING Smoky Mtn Gun AMMO is gonna do that on every gun a customer is upset about. He has bought a number of guns there (so reckon that influenced their decision). ,
  16. It's been out for a while but this is the first I've seen of it........I would hate to be hiding behind cover try'in to reload it.... I actually like it but it ain't cheap. http://www.trailblazerfirearms.com/
  17. https://americanguncraft.com/products/ Now it is BP, but WOW, talk about CQD!!!
  18. I attempted to install the Powder River Precision Spring (PRP) Kit for my XDS Mod 2 in 45 ACP. I had completed the same instal on the original XDS 45 with no problem. That was a few years ago so I tried to follow the videos put out by both PPR and Galloway Precision. Unfortunately, the Mod 2 version is different in one key aspect that was not mentioned in the tutorials. There is no extractor pin so as soon as you release the pressure on the extractor safety plunger the extractor just falls out. I found this out while trying to find the extractor pin and discovered the extractor had already fallen out on the workbench. I thought I broke something. I did call PRP for advice. They acknowledged the Mod 2 installation was different regarding how the extractor and extractor springs were installed. The extractor actually installs the same way as a Glock. My tip is this; if you plan to upgrade the springs on your XDS Mod 2 you need to watch how the extractor is removed and installed on a Glock.
  19. AIM Surplus is running some crazy good deals this weekend on LEO trade-in Glock 22’s in the mighty 40. Gen 3 for $279.95 and Gen 4 for $289.95.... https://aimsurplus.com/leo-trade-in-glock-22-gen-3-40s-w-handgun https://aimsurplus.com/leo-trade-in-glock-22-gen-4-40s-w-handgun
  20. I don't know if y'all are familiar with ZEV Technologies but they have been making a bunch of Glock accessories for years. Well now they have made their own pistol. It takes a lot of their Glock parts and uses Glock mags but looks like some amalgamation of a Glock and Sig P250.
  21. For 2019, Ruger has decided to cease production of the SR family of striker fired pistols. Personally, I think they made a big mistake. I guess they wanted to push the American but I think the SR would have done better if they released it in a "pro" model without the safety.
  22. I wasn't planning on picking up a new gun "BUT" Walther just came out with the new Walther PPQ Q5 Match Steel Frame. I sold my polymer PPQ and picked up the new steel frame. It has been a long time since I really got excited about a new gun but I really like this gun. It is a heavy gun at 2lbs 10oz with an empty magazine so it will be legal for SSP/ESP division in IDPA. My main purpose for the gun is to shoot Carry Optics division and the weight limit is 45oz with an optic. The optic I will use will be the C-more RTS2 6 MOA. The gun does come with three mounting plates, not for the C-more. Had to purchase one from C-more. The grip is a little bit more aggressive than the polymer gun and I am very happy with that. I hope to get out to the range soon and when I do I will do a range report.
  23. The new Sig Sauer 2019 catalog is out if you are interested. If you are a 45 fan, not a lot of choices left. No more P227's of any kind and the P220 Carry is gone too, for example. https://cloud.3dissue.com/184198/184677/215529/2019SIGSAUERCATALOG/index.html
  24. Picked this one up today, Beretta 92G Tennessee limited edition. Had no idea they were made until a fellow board member posted a pic, and then helped me find one after my searches came up empty!!
  25. Dear Brothers n Sisters.... I have re-emerged from my long winter's nap and have been thinkin again about a big, soft shooting 9 mm plastic pistol... I've got a Glock 20 and a 21 layin around... I like the size... Either a Glock or an XD... What do you "Frequent Shooters" like and why...? Thanks a bunch and Merry Christmas... leroy
