Yes. There's a cover that slips off.

There's a trick with that monopod in case you miss it in the web. Try keeping your left hand on the monopod all the way thru the shot. It works for me.

Bonus points for the BDS poster. What front rail is that? Looks very Barrett M107'ish with the angular leading edge.

It is a Badger Ordnance "rifle length" handguard and matches up nearly perfectly to the factory upper rails. I love the look of it and it adds a unique flair to the rifle.

Those Badger handguards are sweet. I have used them on three 24" stainless bull barrel AR builds and love them.

Can my evil black rifle be tan?...

This is my heavy metal carbine. I wanted a .308 with a 16" barrel that could still shoot sub-moa. This started out as a bone stock AP4 and after the mods below plus a coating of Brownell's Aluma-Hyde II in Coyote Tan (matches Magpul FDE near perfect) I'm pretty happy with her.
