Lightest AR pistol w/brace?

....that you would trust for reliable performance, 5.56/.223 on a budget.
I currently own an AK-variant pistol w/brace in that caliber but it's over 6lb, and as I age weight makes a difference...both at my waistline and in my defensive choices.
Haven't really been following the newer AR models, so enlighten me please.

to get the lightest possible you are likely going to have to build your own and combine all the "minimalist/lightweight" offerings from different companies for everything.

My Sig P516G2-7B is about 6 lbs without the mag. Ive seen some high end stuff at around 3 or so lbs, but cant remember where, except price of around 3k sticks in my mind...but the Keltec one is a lot less and 3.4 libs...

My no name, 8.5" BLK weighs in at 5lb 11oz & I spent no expense whatsoever.

I know a dude on another forum who built a 12" 6.8spc for around a grand that came in a hair under 3lb. All I remember of the details was that he used a skeletonized lower, carbon shroud & possibly a polymer upper.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not surprised that I would have to pay more for less...I'm sure there's a maxim/law about that somewhere.
So it sounds like 6lb-ish weights in this style are more the norm than I imagined. Live & learn....

I think if you went with a poly upper & lower & either a Blade brace, or a simple, naked buffer tube, you could get down to 5lb and stay under $400. A .300blk rather than 5.56 would help, weight wise. That's a lot of metal out of the barrel.....

But $1500???? In 2016 no less

"I have more than I should wrapped up in her, buying duplicate parts to shave weight and such, but my current parts list shows $1522.17 if you got the right parts the first time"

Taurus PT111 Millennium G2 For sale. Like New Condition with box and manual. Purchased in Feb 2017. Taken to the range once, fired about 225 rounds of various FMJ and JHP ammo. All ammo ran flawlessly. The gun was surprisingly accurate but the trigger bit my finger more than I was comfortable with. None of the You Tube reviews mentioned anything about this so I guess I was the odd man out on this. Anyway, I'd rather sell it and get something that doesn't pinch my trigger finger.
$180 + bill of sale to TN resident and DL or Carry permit.

I might have made a huge mistake, boys. Could lead to a divorce. I stopped in my LGS (Crossroads Guns, in Fountain City), for some HV .22LR for my Stoeger Luger. I walked out with the .22 rounds and after putting a Walther PPK/s in lay-a-way.  It’s a beaut, a Interarms Stainless steel pistol,  with both mags, box, manuals cleaning rod... all for 5 bills plus tax and BCG. Lay-a-way for 12 months!
Oh Lord, what have I done???  😆😆😆
      Looks like this!

Anybody ever try and run 7mm subsonic? Was thinking about a 300 Blackout but I'm not stocked on any ammo or components and after seeing 20 rnds for $30 at the LGS I think that boat has sailed for now.
I've got an old Contender in 7mm TCU that I haven't shot in eons. Wondered if anyone had tried running something like that suppressed? I do have some makins' to get that going.

Went to an estate sale yesterday and picked up this Stoeger Luger .22, with an aluminum frame. I think it’s one of the best examples of one that I’ve seen.  Really a bit surprised by the size and heft. It’s very close to the only Luger P08 that I’ve ever fired! Hopefully I’ll get to shot it tomorrow.
