I keep an SKS loaded next to the couch, and the Short barrell MB 500 is always loaded next to the Bed.(no kids) I just discovered that I have a Sexual Offender Convicted of Aggrivated Sexual Assualt less than 3 blocks away down the street. Turns out that it is the same guy who cut a stump for me once last summer. I made the comment "No one ever drives up our street, i mean ever."(its a dead end)His Reply, "Thats cause there afraid they'll get shot!". I smiled a big smile inside and felt Good. When we first moved into our current house a little over three years ago I would discharge my of 12g Shotgun in the back yard every couple of months for the first year or so with the sole intent of letting everyone know that this is the wrong house to enter uninvited. Plus I worked second shift till just last week and hated the wife being home alone. I was always on her about staying alert and viligent. I plan on getting my HCP soon and will prob keep it in arms reach at all times.

It's never bothered me that others might think I'm "paranoid". My safety and my family's safety are MY responsibility, 24/7. No one else's.

I like that!

Anyway I put the Frequently, but not always. Even though I may not always be wearing it it's not far. My house very much lives up to my screen name. If you've seen the Thomas Jane movie you'll get what I'm talking about. I don't have kids so I'm kinda lucky in how I can place my weaponry.

One of my favorite films and I watch it every time it's on cable and I'm at home. My favorite line: "I'm OK..... he's not."

Well, yes, but it's very uncommon for law abiding citizens. Your time is better spent hardening your entrance points than strappin' a hogleg to your pjs.

Home invasion can take place anytime, anyplace, anywhere. Just think if it happened to you and you had the opportunity to stop it if you were just packin'. Could you live with yourself if you lived through it?

It has actually happened to me while I was at a relatives house in Nashville. I wasn't packing at the time, but I had enough adrenaline that I almost beat them to death with a hockey stick. In hindsight it was almost a blessing because if I where packing there would be 4 dead teenagers who where simply being stupid.

Its not easy to carry in the shower..... so I voted "Not Always but Frequently " :D

Since the road I live on is heavily traveled and anyone could just stop anytime (and that they do) and the fact that I can see two homes from my front yard and three from the back that have been victims of home invasions I carry ALWAYS.

For the shower it goes in between a folded spare towel on the throne tank. It is within a wet and naked reach if needed. I dont really want to have a gun fight while naked but then again I am not scared to either.:)

We dont get to pick the times, the BG's do, so YEP always and mostly with another gun within reach also.:)

I sure am glad I dont live in a really BAD part of this town.:)

I always have two on me at all times while at home, A kel tec rt front pocket and a Kimber ultra in an IBH . My GF questioned why I am always armed and after a logical discussion concerning recent events and the fact that I now have both knees replaced so I am less mobile, she now keeps her revolver in the same room with her.I just ordered a new IBH for her and I expect she will be carrying 24/7. 6 months ago she was terrified of firearms, now she loves shooting
