"It was a little before midnight Monday when Hensley said Unicoi County 911 received a call stating an individual was holding several hikers hostage at the Beauty Spot lookout on Unaka Mountain. Hensley, who took the call, said the caller stated the man had approached the group of five hikers with a handgun drawn, told them that he was a game warden, and ordered them to get down on their hands and knees. The 911 call, Hensley said, came from one of the hikers allegedly being taken hostage."

Unfortunately for the bad guy, he picked on the wrong group of hikers to assault.....

"Hensley also said the 9 mm handgun in Birchfield’s possession was fully loaded."

OMG! Put the surrounding area on lockdown! Someone has a loaded gun! Everyone knows that un-loaded guns are merely toys. This guy should get life. rolleyes2.gif Who does he think he is, having a loaded gun? That's almost as bad as someone having a hammer close to a box of nails, or...gasp...a loaded stapler... oh my! wtf.gif

Weirdo seems nonchalant enough about it:

What's a "corporate bond"? Just means, used a bondsman?

Read the comments. The boy got electrocuted awhile back, and his elevator doesn't go all the way to the top anymore. He owns his own business. A pastor too.

Ah, the fine print. Even stranger, seems. Thanks.

For the record, this man is a part of my family. He is a very good man. He's a father of 2, and he was head pastor of a church (until this happened obviously). Owns his own company, very liked throughout community. He was very badly injured a few years back....electricuted, he shouldnt even be alive at this point. But through Gods grace he survived. He had a lot of damage, has seizures on a regular basis. Their home burned down on Christmas eve. This doesnt excuse what has happened. that was stupid, dangerous and scary. But, he's not all mentally intact anymore. His accident caused more problems than anyone could imagine. So, before people go on here and judge someone for things....maybe ya'll should pray about the situation. Pray and thank God no one got hurt. Thank God he held military people up instead of women and kids. Thank God those men knew what to do in order to not make things worse. Those men are trained for this stuff. Im not saying he needs to go un-punished, but he needs help, prayers, instead fo judgement. Im angry w/ him, but his family doesnt need all this. His oldest son graduates tonight....pray for their family.

Okay, so the guy has a reason for his behavior. I said reason, not excuse.

So he has a reason, his cheese slid off his cracker when he took some high voltage. Wellllll, ain't that what we build homes for? Nashville's got a few. Parthenon Pavilion comes to mind. Lock his butt up. Not prison, but a secured nut house where he can get his meds, maybe work assembling things in the work shop or make macaroni art.
