Thanks for the advice. I read online that the trigger pull is heavier on the SR9. Any truth to that

My SR9 has a few mods including the http://www.ghostinc.com/c=FYrtwh9XFL3Wk8I9VI5riE9x0/category/ruger_sr__rocket__tactical_and_all_other_connectors_installation_instructions/Ghost Trigger so the Compact trigger pull felt heavier in comparison but I never gauged it. I suspect they are the same parts inside only frame size being different but I could be wrong.

I did have a little trouble fitting the trigger bar reset but the designer worked with me until we got it, great fellow and a pleasure to work with. All the issues with the early SR9's should be worked out by now and this would be a slick trick to add to whichever one you get.

So, if you're worried about trigger pull on either pistol, there's a fix for that.

Joe Bob one of our vendors has one as of this afternoon
Give them a look

I checked it out, but after shipping it came out to be closer to $480, with a transfer fee it would end up around $500. I was really hoping to be a little cheaper than that...

Does anyone know of a store local to Knoxville/Maryville that could have one in stock?

I'll call them today. Wish I were in the Nashville area!! That's a bit of a drive, but maybe I can catch a hockey game and make it worth my while!!

Well, I just called both of the Guns and Leather stores. They both had the SR40c, but neither had the SR9c. Looks like I'm still on the hunt!! They did have a good price though. Hopefully they will get one in stock soon.

You opposed to the 40?  I shot one of those compact .40s and it was real comfortable to shoot.

I tried on both of those. No luck. To be honest the guy in Cleveland was just rude, and I don't want to give him my money. The guy in Lebanon is kind of far away, and his price is high and firm. In short, still looking!!! Hopefully a store somewhere close will get one in soon.

Bersa Thunder Pro Ultra Compact 9mm, or High Capacity 9mm.   Should be around $400.  Polygon barrel, picatinny rail, round in chamber indicator, lock system to prevent firing when stored, and ambidextrous.

They also have a new CC version of the 9mm: BP9CC

The first two are based on the Browning blowback design, if I recall.  Simple.  They are accurate, easy to shoot, easy to clean.  Bersa isnt too good on the finishes, though, so go matte.

Taurus 709Slim.  They dont call it slim for nothing.  Single action trigger makes a huge difference.  VERY easy to carry in the right holster.  Double stack mags are hard for me to carry all day.

Saw one on sale for under $400 at Bass Pro yesterday.

I'm using pricing from my local store (Bill's Outpost) P95 $319 are hard to beat, but the Smith And Wesson SD9VE is hard to beat for $329 to. I'd put those at the top of the under $400 list. For little more the Ruger SR series are nice as well.

I really like the SR9c, but Bill doesn't have one in stock yet. I love that store though! I haven't looked at the SD9VE though. Are there any downsides to that gun? I heard a lot of bad things about the Sigma line, is this the same gun?
