How long before America becomes a police state?

We all are aware of the slow and maybe not so slow intrusion of government in our lives and our liberties. We have the Patriot act, NDAA 2012, Drones in American skies over major cities watching us, and a post on the forum about state arrest powers given to federal agents.

It seems like my America is dying being replace with something like a police state. Is it already hear and we don’t realize it or do we still have time before its official?

Well, it should be pretty obvious?

With what you mentioned, combined with the Executive Emergency Act, the flow of Executive Orders coming out of the W.H., one more liberal Supreme Court Justice on board, most states and individuals not standing up to and challenging the authority granted the Federal Government under our Constitution. The mass flow of liberals fleeing California to other states bringing along their liberal views that destroyed the state they fled from. On and on...

Surprise! We're already there my man.

We have bigger problems than worrying about a “Police State”. Illegals are being given amnesty, letting them vote is next, drugs are being legalized, patriots are few and far between, moral decay is accepted. Many people will be wanting/needing more Police in the very near future.

ah home from Church....Happy Easter...on to the topic at hand.....

Think "Homeland Security".

Home from church and right to the forum ... sounds like me. Haha. Happy Easter.

I fear if the Commies get control in the mid-term we are done. We're probably already done in the long-term, but the rate of decay will increase to the point of where we likely won't recognize the America we live in in 5-10 years.

Only when conservative America is as good as organizing as they are will we have a chance to regain any control of the country. I fear that is our downfall. The conservative lifestyle is such that we don't desire to mass-organize and push social change, and that's exactly what they have done to change America. They have convinced us that trading our freedoms for the security they promise is what we want and need, and the previous generations of America ate it up hook, line, and sinker. Doing so has doomed us freedom loving Americans (those that are still around and understand) to the future we have been handed. I hope and pray that America wakes up soon and is able to salvage what has been left behind.

Forget the tin foil, you'll need aircraft grade aluminum milled to spec. The Gov knows something is coming and they are preparing. They don't relize that they are the ones causing it by their actions. They don't know if they should sucure the barn doors after the horses get out  or nail them shut before and burn the horses with the barn. No common sence or just plane idiots. US has an agreement with Canida, that if martial law is call that Canida would sent it's forces to controll things.

Will you shoot Americans?"

And that's not a "moral police state" imposing their will on you? If not, I don't know what is?

It’s not a Police State; it’s the will of the American people. Yes, the President s doing everything he can to destroy our country, but he is doing it with the support of the majority of the population.

To truly appreciate where we stand & where we're heading I think it would behoove everyone to really consider what has occurred in the last few months. National discussions about drones that just 1-2 years ago would have had you relegated to 'being of' the dark recesses of groups that constantly talk about clandestine project this and operation that the government had conducted unbeknownst to the population at large. We have Some mainstream news outlets, mainly smaller affiliate stations and such, as well as the expected brevy of new media orgs and even financial business pubs speculating about government purchases and ammunition shortages. Now they obviously won't jump to decrying that its all part of some manifesting plot via un/bilderberg to demilitarize the US citizenry. That remains in a more 'speculative arena' they won't voice. I can't help but think it must be terribly uncomfortable for those in power to risk awkward questions from some overzealous new journalist that hasn't yet understood the fourth branch is now propaganda spewing lapdogs. As more and more citizens in the past few months have suddenly had to contemplate the possibility they might have fewer & fewer options by which to defend themselves, yet still more eyes have but merely peeked open. They remain sleepy sheep by and large but there exists now a growing sentiment of significant discord in the force..uhm where'd I go. Oh yeah. So anyhoo, it's debatable of course whether our trajectory can be realigned or not but the question remains how many will join in solidarity and stand for individual freedom or just accept their government bread and proceed like lemmings to the cliff. Are we in a police state? Nope we wouldn't be able to make these posts. Are we in a quasi police state? Certainly, this post & thread has probably now been catalogued in the fusion center in arkansas for review to sift keywords to identify any sovereign citizens or domestic terrorists or god forbid tea party patriots.

I think there is a lot of truth in this post; but i cant buy the "...we are turning into a police state..." thing yet.  Dave is exactly right, a majority of folks voted for what we have now and the present "regieme" is doin all they can to kick the can down the road toward authoritorianism and the "police state" thing. We are seein a redux of post civil war reconstruction politics levied against political enemies on a national scale.

The good news as i see things is that more and more folks are wakin up to what's goin on.  Lots of them are edgy and are buyin up firearms; and they aint for hunting and plinking.  For the first time in my life; i believe a goodly number of people are actually very concerned that the US government may not be a benign force.  I count that a good thing; because its not, and hasnt been for quite a while.  The bad news is that i think it's about a 50/50 split population wise; but there is good news in that it is regional.  The "blue" voters are concentrated in the usual "blue" areas; or are islands in "red" territories ALA Memphis and inner-city Nashville.

Jerrymandering in the blue states, voter fraud, and a weak bunch of republican pukes brought us barak noama and  "uncle mort" napolitano.   Folks for the first time in a long time (...since the civil war...) and post civil war reconstruction otherwise reasonable and hitherto uncaring citizens are seein first hand what "reprisal politics" and high handed government is actually like and they dont like it.   I count that a good thing.   I predict that we will get rid of lots of the nobama authoritarianism about 2014 because the demorats are gonna have to re-brand themselves and distance themselves from this idiocy to keep foolin their political base.   The rebublicans are worse; because they have let this happen twice now. They may well morph into the demorat party and a new party may emerge ALA folks like Rand Paul, Rubio, and Ted Cruze; and i count that a good thing.

I believe that no matter what happens with the presidential and federal elections, we are gonna see the red states get redder and the blue states get bluer.  Some of the blue states are turnin purple and red; i count that a good thing too; again, more and more people are wakin up and they dont like what they see.  Matter of fact; i think that the only people who "like" what's goin on now are the hard core socialists, idiotic union members, children, and those on the dole.  The socialist and union thing is a religion in my view; the "children" are ignorant; and the "on the dole" thing is what it's always been; ....being bought and sold like cattle.... .  All for a measley handout from the government.

I think that states rights are emerging and that we will see a continuing devolution of the states into like-minded confederations; where the citizens of the individual states decide what they are willing to allow (...just as it should be, anyway....).  I think it will lead to a showdown with the federal gubt if we get another demorat; but i think the showdown will be bloodless; with the courts puttin the federal gubmt in its place.

Havin said all that, i will concede that talk is cheap and that nothin has happened as yet; but i think we're in for some interestin politics in the next few years.  I'll close this little musing by sayin that america wuz founded on rebellion and a yearning for freedom.  America was founded on the anthesis of what the old world wuz and is now; a bunch of cowed compliant serfs governed by a political elite; first kings, then kaisers, then a political elites.   The sons of b****es running big government machine politics at the fed., state, and local levels are tryin mighitily to make us all serfs; and they were doin pretty well with it up until now.   Now they have tipped their hand, and the most rustic and base of us can see what they are doin.   They would have done well to be a bit lighter handed; and kept foolin the children and the blissfully ignorant among us.

Here's hopin im right.

Well, after reading the preceeding, I'm more confused? In one sentence, what's your point and/ or stance?
