I think its time to say THANK YOU!!! to all those that voted for Freedom yesterday

Have the 'beverage' of your choice and have a small celebration if you wrote & called your reps, and contributed to the 2nd Amendment Representatives who fought so hard to succeed in this 1st round.  More to come so sober-up and prep-up for the next battle. Be vigilant its going to come around again!!!  :usa:

What a lot of people don't realize is that every single year, for probably the last 20, there have been at least a dozen bills introduced like this. We have beaten this one but don't think for a second there are not at least 10 more to follow this year alone.

We need to thank those who helped defeat this one but also be prepared to send warnings to them again if they fail to do OUR bidding.

Stay off of their Facebook pages, they are swamped by out of state complainers.

So what.  It is a national issue.  FB is a national forum,  And it still has to be read & accepted or deleted by staff.

They are in the frying pan, keep the heat up and make them think about the issue.

As far as state consituents, they have web page inputs to sort by mailing address.

BTW, S.649 is *still* on the table, and is dangerous to 2A all by itself. All the stuff yesterday & today were just amendments.  We can still get screwed tomorrow.

A Representative Republic? Heresy I say!

But...but for a change it worked.

And you're right...Thanks with caution is in order.

S.649 itself still is out there.  All the priors were amendments.

Yeah, but all the amendments were to Shumer's bill, S. 374.

Can't see how Reid's S.649 would even hit the floor at this point.

edit: never mind, see my post below, Shumer's bill was indeed abandoned at some point and they used Reid's instead by the time of the voting.

Everything now being discussed are amendments to S. 649.

Yeah, that's actually correct, sorry  -- somehow Schumer's S 374 that started it all was abandoned and they shifted to Reid's S 649 before they made the deal to hear all the amendments at one time. They show as "related bills" on Library of Congress site.

I ain't gonna compare the texts of the two, guessing they are about the same as topic sections are.

Anybody more studious than moi who wants to:

S 374 "Fix Gun Checks Act of 2013" (Schumer)

S 649 "Safe Communities, Safe Schools Act of 2013" (Reid)
