Mrs. Ted Nugent Arrested With Gun At Airport

Recommended Posts

There are are number of folks on here...let's call them..."presumptuous elitists" (I've heard that label somewhere before and seems appropriate here  ) who, when something like this happens, are quick to say "it could never happen to me" (the insinuation being that they somehow are above such mistakes- I just don't buy the infallible act.

No need to be passive-aggressive - if you want to talk about me, just use my screen name.

And it's not a superiority issue, it's smh at the fact some folks are that cavalier wrt safe handling and storage of firearms. This wasn't a mistake or an accident, it was simply carelessness.

I know that not everyone here would/will do something like this but no one will convince me that there is anyone here who is incapable of it...the last and only perfect person was on earth a LONG time ago; everyone else is more than capable of making a mistake; whether it's a forgotten gun in a piece of luggage (while wrestling with who knows what other details, late arrivals, etc) or forgetting to check the TP status before sitting down. :)

LOL, nice straw man. No one has hinted at perfection, but there are some things that are ALWAYS in your control - safe firearms practice is one of those things.

And stop projecting - it's ok if you've screwed up like this before, but it doesn't mean everyone is that careless.

Oh I think it's an excellent comparison! ;)

You don't have to convince me that you're old and senile enough to do it :) It would just never happen to me  :x:

No offense meant; really...and I truly wasn't thinking of you or any specific person; just poking some fun at the general  "I would never do that" assertion that always seems to come out in situations like this one...it doesn't even apply to just firearms!  ;)

Mine need to be a hard-hat, not that wimpy thing.

It won't hurt Uncle Ted, one way or the other. Maybe she will get the David Gregory treatment.

Regardless of intent, it is a golden opportunity for the Nuge.  You can't buy this kind of attention to your cause.

But that's just it, you think there is any way in hell Uncle Ted would subject HIS WIFE to arrest and a potential loss of rights just to prove HIS point?!

No way. If this had been intentional it would have been Mr. Nugent in the papers.

Sorry I just can't believe that a man of his conviction would agree to endangering his wife in way, including having her break a law and be subject to arrest.

That assumption is just as big as the one I made.

They might be in concert on this.

Certainly, now that it has happened, it will be played like a chess game of masters.

Well, I probably should have done the smart thing and stressed that my response is my opinion as well.

Having said that I still feel as though its just not likely that Ted would have submitted his wife to, or in any way approves of the use of his wife in this fashion.

I foresee two possible ends.

1. Ted and Mrs. Nugent apologize, pay some fines and move on with life without trying to rock the boat to hard. That's my most likely guess, I think if Ted wanted or planned to make an issue out tod this we would have already heard about it.

2. Ted being his guns to town. He utilizes his public figure and political influence within the NRA to bring awareness to the situation and protest a policy that is not going to change.

Actually a third scenario occurres to me, it is possible that senario 1. begins but number two takes over if "they" throw the book at Mrs. Nugent.

Personally I don't how how it could be anything but stupid. Accidental or on purpose. Don't know where all of your guns are ? Stupid, not careless, stupid. Misplacing a firearm is just that IMO.

On purpose? We don't need this type of Leonard style bullcrap. Stupid. Be a responsible gun owner. Don't poke the bear just because you believe the 2nd amendment says you can.

Hang on a sec... I need to gear up if we're going to seriously propose that she did this as a test / civil disobedience thing, knowingly putting Uncle Ted's Pro-2A poster child status at risk.
