A lot of people are. The fight took in $9 million at the gate. Women or men, they are all trained fighters. Some like it, some don't like anything else.

Best news I've heard in a long time. It's about time someone takes her down a peg. This news made my day.

 

Yep. I agree. I figured Holmes would be the one to do it. She's a world class boxing champion and Rousey has always tried to stay away from it. This fight showed why. She can't box.

If you go to Holly Holm's Facebook page and scroll down, eventually you can find a 14:01 video of the entire fight. Holm owned Rousey. I boxed in college. I was never any good, but it sure looked to me like Rousey wasn't prepared to fight a boxer. She kept dropping her right hand and stepping up from Holm's left. Holm is a lefty.  Holm nailed her with the left several times in the first round.

Facebook is blowing up about this. It affects me none, but I do hate it when any fighter walks away from touching gloves all cocky. But hey, maybe she was out fought, maybe Vegas gave her an extra 50 million? :stir:

 

Rousey has been an absolutely horrible example of sportsmanship throughout her career. Not touching gloves is the tip of the iceberg, you should have seen how she acted when she was a coach on TUF.

 

I could be wrong, but I doubt she could hide the amount of money it'd take for to pay her to take a dive, not to mention that her ego probably couldn't survive it. I think she just got beat down by the first world class puncher she wasn't able to duck.

That was the first time I have watched the video and Rousey just got dismantled. I don't keep up with UFC much but have seen the videos of her whup up on everyone so far. What I don't get is if you are Rousey's trainer how do you let her come out after the 1ST round and still box toe to toe with the other girl. Rousey should have rushed her and got it into a grappling match on the mat.

Okay, just watched the whole fight. Rhonda got beat down by technique, showing all the holes in her stand up. Grappling may have been a different story? But of you can't get your opponent on the ground it doesn't matter. Holmes looked very, very good and humble on top of it.

That leg kick Holm kept planting above Rousey's leading knee was the key to the whole fight IMHO. It kept Rousey from being able to lunge in quick to punch or go for a takedown. Brilliant gameplan, executed flawlessly.

Have to agree. She's not super light on her feet to begin with, but when Holly slowed her down just that much more she was in trouble. I'm no boxer, but even I kept saying "put your hands up dummy!" Holms can sure punch!
