@ TN Phil - The Taurus you mentioned is probably fine. A Ruger LCP or LC380, Shield, Taurus 605, Charter Arms .357, Rock Island M206, or used Glock would also serve just fine and not break the bank. If I had it to do over again, I would buy my first carry gun and then buy a good belt and holster, plenty of ammo, a way to carry reloads, a good light, frequent trips to the range, and classes on practical shooting - before buying another gun. You are starting a journey, not choosing a destination, and this stuff would help you get down the road smoothly.

Haven't located my digital scale yet. Went searching for a new one most have a reading of 00.0 pounds. walmart has them for $13 to $47. Sportsman's Warehouse has Hornaday with 00.00 lbs for $200. I need one lower, like 00.00000 or better. 3/8= 0.0234375, 7/16 oz= 0.02734375, 1/2 oz= 0.03125

Where do you buy your reloading supplies?
DeepSouth replied to enfield's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Been a while since I've been to Reloaders Bench. Dad bought a 22 lb keg of HP-38 for $10 about 2006, I'm still loading with it. I got a Lee Auto Prime for $14 in 2009. Last stop in 2013 with a friend. Can't remember what she bought. -
I think it is basically this. It has been $200.00 to manufacture or transfer any of those N.F.A. items, including machine guns. The NFA 1934 determined this. In 1986, everyones favorite pro-gunners Ronald Reagan and the NFA passed FOPA. It made some things "better" but also restricted the manufacture of machine guns by civilians. Pre-86 things already on the registry already can be transferred. Of course, you probably already know all of that. But it's like this. Piece of paper A tells you it is $200.00 to pass go, and piece of paper B tells you that passing go is illegal.

Relocating to TN (Parsons/Decaturville area)
TN_Raven replied to Norun6's topic in New Member Introductions
What part of PA? I lived in York for several years before we came to TN. I really liked that area. I’d check whatever county and local municipality laws there might be regarding noise and discharge of firearms, but probably not much in more rural areas. Of course you’ll want to be mindful about how your neighbors feel about it - assuming they’re within earshot. -
To all, have a outstanding Independence Day, it's a great day to be an American!
