  3. I don't know if I would have shot or accidentally went into panic mode while in drive [not reverse like the coward in the video]. I'm sorry your honor, I thought I put it reverse when I floored it. I was just trying to get away.

  4. I live in a highly populated area , Green Hills. If the neighbors call the cops and they show up , I could lose my HCP , right ? Talking about using .22 rat shot. Guess I should grow a pair and use a rock ! I could be a real man and use my teeth.

  5. I am old enough to remember a time when the press, even though biased toward the left, actually tried to present the news and left most of their opinions for the editorial page and/or made it clear when there were editorializing rather than reporting. Regardless of what some may think about commentators like Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levine and Glenn Beck; I believe that were it not for conservative talk radio we would already be nothing more than an European socialist state.

  6. This is pure speculation on my part. Given the other reports in the media (which we cannot trust) and reading between the lines of these faulty reports, I'm thinking we're going to find that it was a contact wound, with powder residue on both individuals. I'm thinking that Zimmerman shot Martin in a struggle for the gun, with Martin on top. Forensic reports will tell the story. It won't be CSI with scrolling screens and computer enhancement and video reconstruction, perhaps, but the forensic reports will tell the story. Media reports, even biased media reports, say that Martin came up on Zimmerman from behind, they exchanged words, Zimmerman reached for and pulled out his cell phone, and was decked by Martin. No reports I have read, even the biased ones, say that Zimmerman pulled out his gun at this time, they say that he pulled out his cell phone. The reports I have read say that with Martin on top, pounding him, Zimmerman called out for help. All reports I have read say that the gun did not come into play until after it, in an inside the waistband holster, was exposed during the beating administered by Martin upon Zimmerman. Therefore, it is quite possible that the gun did not come into play until after it was exposed, that Martin attempted to control it, and that Zimmerman in a struggle for the gun shot Martin. All reports suggest that Zimmerman did not lead with his gun, that it was used as a last resort after he was already down, being beaten, with his head pounded on the concrete, with an aggressor struggling for his holstered gun. Other folks can create a different scenario, and the scenario will be refined as more facts become known, but I believe this basic scenario will stand up to scrutiny. I am not saying this is WHAT happened. I am saying it is very reasonable that this is what MIGHT have happened. I read reports, multiple reports, conflicting reports, emotional reports, logical reports, for a living. This is what I . . . think . . . happened. I am still waiting for possible grand jury action, True Bill or No Bill, an indictment if it comes, and a trial if it comes, in which all the True Facts will become known.

  7. lies...........................i'm sick to death of thoes who just make si*^t up and report it as if it were true. Our president will not ban guns. He doesn't want to. he couldn't do so even if he wanted to. I am shamed that a few can yell loud enough that others take it as fact. About this video.......................Am I the only one that noticed he kept saying I have a report......or we have a report........or we understand that..... No FACTS WERE REPORTED....The man in the video should have his mouth sewn colsed........his voice should be locked up. This people make me MAD. That's the way I see it, I could be wrong.

  8. I hope you have also noticed that he tests the water a lot. His little spew about "common sense" gun laws after the Gifford shooting went nowhere. If he tries to pull something now, it will most likely hurt him in the election. If he waits until after the election, the Trayvon frenzy will be long gone.

  10. QuiteDan, I too would like to see Constitutional Carry, but think it is about as likely to happen with the current Administration as closed Primaries and for the same reason, lack of Conservatives in the Junta. I would be OK with the Bill limiting the scope to Permit Holders at this time, (not that I think it is correct OR Constitutional) it would be the impetuous to increasing the number of those who perfect their Permits, and once they have skin in the game, it is more likely that pressure for true pro-firearms legislation would be supported by a broader base.

  11. What are all these high end guns you guys are talking about. Nearly all mine get dropped, dinged and scratched in their lifetimes. They, after all, are just tools to me. To really find out how reliable your gun is it needs to be used and sometimes abused. Anyone who has seen my 1911 knows this, it is part stainless, part blue and silver where the bluing is gone. It has been dropped, thrown, and just abused to make sure it will be 100% reliable. And it has been for 3,500 rounds so far. Same goes for every other gun I own with the exception of just a couple. They all wear scars of use and abuse. And because of this I trust my daily use guns 100%, even my AR in 22lr. Dolomite

  12. Last year I told Rep. Vance Dennis that I would rather see the bill sponsored by Rep. Josh Evans totally die than see it pass in it's watered down version that it had become. For me, it was all or nothing. The bill that is now before us was on the verge of dying. Leadership in both chambers had commented on several occasions that there was no way the bill would make it unless the scope was narrowed. Ron Ramsey had also said that he wanted a provision exempting parking lots with fences. The amendment EXPANDING the bill to include licensed hunters could very well be the poision pill. Let me make myself VERY clear, I would like to include EVERY person who can LEGALLY possess a firearm but there is NO way that is going to pass. I have posted before that I do NOT consider handgun permit holders to be a special class because having a permit is a CHOICE. Essentially ANYBODY who can legally possess a firearm can get a permit. This is NOT like limiting a privilage to people in specific jobs such as law enforcement. Right now, unless you are commissioned law enforcement, military on duty, licensed security or a few other limited groups, you can NOT carry a firearm in Tennessee without a permit. While many of us would like to see that changed with a Constitutional Carry law but that does not exist right now. Efforts have been successful over the many years to expand the places handguns can be carried but they have been limited to permit holders and this is not going to be any different. WHEN the General Assembly finally recognizes the Constitutional right to carry by law abiding citizens, then we can get the laws changed to allow persons to carry in all the places that we have worked to allow permit holders. All I can do is ask if those who want to include others in this bill are willing to trade the ability for those other than permit holders to keep a firearm in their car for restrictions that prohibit EVERYBODY from keeping their firearms in their car if their employer has a fenced lot. That is where it is headed. The General Assembly leadership wants a narrow scope or this bill will die whether we like it or not. The rumor now is that Representative Campfield is planning to propose another amendment to the bill when it gets to the Senate floor. An amendment to exempt parking lots with a fence. So whether you are a licensed hunter or a permit holder, you won't be able to keep your firearm in your car if your employer has a fenced lot, so the expansion to include licensed hunters will be WORTHLESS. It may all be pointless anyway Campfields expansion to hunters kills the bill.

  15. Easy to carry goes to the 9mm. You're more likely to need self defense against the two-legged animal, not the bear. Best to be prepared against a multiple attackers than the less frequent bear. Leave he 454 for hunting. Carry the 17 rounds of 9mm and an extra magazine. Have a comfy holster and enjoy your trip.
