progressive press bullet feeder on LNL?
chances R replied to serbu50's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
you can run the LNL as a single stage until you get up to speed......won't take long. With a RCBS lockout die you will be humming along pretty quickly. Completely pleased with mine and would think you will be pleased with the purchase. -
JayC, a lot of people may get out more than you do, carrying across state lines. The TN HCP is one of the most reconized permits in other states.......a big deal if one carries a gun in their vehicle. Like it or not, that is the law and the way it is. Also there are training points in any reasonably good HCP class in TN. They are not classes on how to be on Seal Team 6, but they do discusse the basic laws in regard to TN, and basic safety instruction which are always a good starting point.

It is because WalMart didn't have any ammo or one couldn't afford it if they did.

JayC, what you say is true, but try and get a judge, especially out of state, to let it slide should you be charged with carrying a gun. The really sad part is a HCP course is likely the only training most will receive.

progressive press bullet feeder on LNL?
chances R replied to serbu50's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
The LNL has a bullet feeder as an option. I prefer not to use it as it takes up the space for a lockout die which I think is much more important. The machine is plenty fast, if I were to add something, a case feeder would be it, but not really a necessity. And it doesn't take up a die spot. -
870 shells hanging in chamber
chances R replied to KaNuckles's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Bore Brush, Steel Wool and variable speed drill. Have done it plenty of times on all makes of shotguns. Poor chamber finish is one reason, but I think the real problem is steel case heads which tends to promote more corrosion vs. the brass which was once used routinely. -

yes, enjoyed meeting and shooting with you. -
Not sure what bersaguy is referring to. I've worked around xray dept. my whole life. Walls, doors, and control booths are lead-lined, but NEVER have we 'rotated' the lead. In the old days we reclaimed a lot of silver, but the lead stayed.

Just because he is a 'retired' cop, doesn't automatically grant him universal carry privilege. Sounds as though he may have left under less than favorable circumstances. I preach it in all my classes; the best gunfight is the one that is avoided.

Database shows he does have HCP

my understanding is that if it is expired, she will have to go through the course again. -
Magazines...stored full or empty when on standby?
chances R replied to Sidewinder's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
If you're really worried about it.....I'm not.....but it is real simple to change the springs out every other year or whatever time frame makes you feel good. -
I think hunting with a SS is a lot of fun, and somewhat a throw-back. However decent I am at wingshooting, I am not as consistent with clay targets with my SS vs. my OU. I find that is true for most shotgunners, especially with sporting clays. That is why they have a separate division at some shoots just for SS.

I have taken several of these classes with Eric, including this one. Each one is a little different and always something new. I have taken a lot of classes with other trainers, and they all have offered different perspectives, but none have literally given me more bang for the buck than Eric's. -
Which N. Main Street ? OH.....got it Ashland City :stunned:

That's why you have to be very, very, careful with internet data. Also, there are usually differences in all manuals. When you get two to match, I feel a lot better. The load on the bottle will work, can't tell you if it will work in YOUR gun though. The OAL is, I believe, at max. In general, the shorter you go with a load, the higher the pressure becomes.........and the 9mm can be unforgiving.

See, sometimes things just work out the way they are suppose to. -
This is probably the only time I wish this site had 'smell-a-vision'

The higher end electronic muffs cut down on the db by compression. Compression is where all sound is lowered to safer levels with uninterrupted sound. The lower ends simply cut the sound off during high levels.......that is no sound is transmitted. As I said previously, I have the HLeights and prefer the larger set indoors and with rifles. I also use a single compression electronic plug when shotgunning, outside pistol, and for hunting. It gives amplification as a plus for range commands as well as hunting. In the other ear I use a regular foam plug.

Leights makes 2 models of electronic muffs. The larger model has a NRR of 28. Both work fine. If you need more protection you can always add plugs.

The mechanics of the draw and operation of the safety have been hashed out forever. It is as Dolomite explained. It should be automatic. Especially if one is moving/clearing, etc. The thumb rides the safety and the trigger finger rides the slide. I cringe when I hear the safety comes off at the draw.....ask Tex how that worked out. If the weapon is actually 'engaged', after checking the vicinity, the safety is flipped on. I have even caught myself flipping the safety off/on between targets in IDPA as it becomes 'memorized'.
