1. Do your dash lights come on with the ignition? Do they flicker a little when you turn the ignition?   As others have said, it's likely a safety switch.   Make sure you've disengaged the PTO, set transmission in neutral (googling stated that the HST can be finnicky about neutral - move it around a bit to get it just right), and that you are sitting in the seat. Do you have a second transmission lever? Might need that in neutral as well - I know I have to on my tractor.   Also, check to make sure that the belt that drives the blades didn't slip off the mower when everything got lodged. I've not seen this stop a tractor from running, but might keep you from mowing even once you've got it started. It shouldn't have come off, but you never know.
2. I had an Auto Presidio, loaned it to a buddy of mine who works with MNPD... he's yet to have returned it. That was almost a year ago now. He must be liking it quite a bit. Ha!
3. I've used many books from Osprey Publishing to get into WWII British reenacting, they have some titles for Medieval military histories available.   Can't vouch for that time period, but they came to me highly recommended for WW2 stuff, especially the Brayley stuff.   http://www.ospreypublishing.com/section.aspx?SectionID=30

XP Updates?

Microsoft did release an update to XP to fix a major issue with internet explorer that would allow an attacker the ability to assume control of your pc.   I don't expect any more updates, but was glad to see this come through.
5. I went once, spent a little over 9 days on Moloka'i. Was fantastic. Spent 2 days in Honolulu.... was NOT worth it, though the trip to Pearl Harbor was a very intense experience. The Arizona memorial is incredible, It's hard to comprehend the events from maps and pictures, being where all those men perished and looking out across the bay, my words cannot do it justice.   Unlike many others here, I'd like to go back, but I won't go visit the big tourist spots - it'll be back to Moloka'i. Kaunakakai was a fun little town, and the trip into the rainforest and up the mountain was awesome.   Visit Halawa valley, east end of the island along a dangerous curvy road. Lots of shore to stop at and swim if you want, beware of jellies, and stay close to shore. The current is VERY strong. Don't swim in the waterfall pool - it's considered sacred to locals and you'll probably get in trouble.   The old leper colony (the last US one, iirc) used to be here on the north side of the island. It still had surviving relatives of lepers there, but no more leprosy. Might be open to the public, I dunno. Worth a bit of research though! We saw a supply ship coming in dock when we hiked up the mountain one afternoon.   Also check out Papohaku beach - one of the largest white sand beaches in the state. It's a natural beach, and is awesome. There are sea turtles there! Don't try to catch em - you won't... but if you do, you'll have a hell of a swim back to shore. Beware sea urchins. they're abundant.   Check out the Kanemitsu Bakery - between 8PM and 2AM - down a sketchy back alley, you'll bring cash to the back door, and buy a loaf of fresh hot bread slathered with cream cheese, jam, sugar, cinnamon, or butter - or some combination. Can't find it? Look for the line wrapping around to the front after about 10pm. It's there. It's called Hot Bread and I ate at least four loaves during my stay.   There used to be an old mud road that went up the mountain, likely paved now (11 years later, but who knows!) There was an old woodcutter who lived up there in the forest - he had some awesome stuff you could buy.   All in all, you could see most of Moloka'i in a few days. But I'd gladly take a trip back and spend another week, or even a month there.   Good luck!
6. S&W has always treated me right. Had the locking bolt pin walk out of the barrel on me, causing me to lose it, the locking bolt, and the spring. Called em, up they sent all the lost parts, and 4 pins.   Even spoke with a gunsmith who had worked on their assembly line, and he gave me some pointers on installing it so that it wouldn't walk out again (put an -ever so slight- bend in the pin to create some tension). Was a pleasant experience. Took a while to get the parts, but was a good call.   Love my smith wheel-guns. They're my favorites.
7. What features do you want in a rifle?   Do you want a world of aftermarket support, or just a fairly decent rifle out of the box?   Stainless or blued? Synthetic or wood stock?   Blind, flush, or detachable magazine?   What distances do you want to shoot accurately?   Do you already have glass for your rifle? Or will you have to buy glass as well on your $800 budget?
8. We had a GSP when I was growing up. She was also very loyal to our family, great around young kids she hadn't met yet, but never trusted strange adults till we introduced them to her. The UPS, FedEx, and Postman would never even attempt to enter our yard to deliver packages. She had a very intimidating bark and was a big dog.   She was highly intelligent, and required lots of play. Ours had a genetic issue (due to poor breeding) which caused a skin disorder. We were able to resolve it, but it required a very particular diet and grooming routine. We also never had issues with birds eating grass see or rodents in the garden - she would chase the birds, and catch and eat the rodents.   She finally passed at just shy of 14 years, from cancer. We were going to have her put down at 13, as it seemed her illness was ruining her quality of life, but she perked up around a new puppy, and decided to stick around for almost a year - her tumors stopped growing, and her activity and energy level jumped back up significantly. She probably trained the new dog better than any of us could have with out her.
9. Was interested, read the fine print on the poster - it's a $200 credit toward parts/accessories/etc from AAC's shop. Can't be used toward the transfer tax.   That said, it's still a really good deal.
10. There is no magic lube.   Use the one that's appropriate for the environment you're in, recognize that proper cleaning and maintenance trumps ease of ownership.   That said, I use grease on rails, and clp pretty much everywhere else. xD
11. Not too far west of us in Nashville are some great TVA properties. Pin Oak, Redbud, and Dogwood lakes are good fishing. I think Redbud and Dogwood are fishing only - nobody will be out bothering you on pwc's etc. Lots of shoreline if you have a boat with a very shallow draft - without one, not that great to fish these.   I havent' spent a lot on my rods or reels, and they've served me fairly well without any trouble. They're definitely not as smooth as some of the others out there, but they get what I need done. I'm not really qualified to give advice on them.   As far as plastic baits go, I've had a lot of fun fishing three different lures when I'm not using live bait. I primarily use a Rebel crickhopper - whichever one matches the crickets around the lake the best - hit everything from panfish to smallmouth to the occasional hungry and adventurous largemouth, a Lazy Ike - whichever matches the minnows near shore, and a Texas Rig.
12. Classy, lol.   Now, got any pics of that funeral service you were gonna give it? XD
13.   Have you checked it by trying to take a pic with a camera? I can't enjoy using an aimpoint or eotech because of my astigmatism. Even "corrected" I get flares, they're minimized at low brightness and pop huge when turned up... but when I focus a camera on the dot and take a pic, they're clear as a bell.   For me, it's etched reticle or bust on red dots.
14.     I agree as well. A good whistle is better than an air horn - lighter - and doesn't run out of air (unless you do  :ugh:)   I prefer pea-less whistles, primarily use an Adventure Med Kits branded one. Loud enough and sound carries well. Bright orange is easy to spot on the ground when I drop it too!
15.   The one you're looking at is 6061 aluminum - I'm not sure how well that will hold up to .223 use, especially out of a short barrel.   I never had too much of a concussion issue with any brakes when I had a 10.5" upper, though the guys directly to my right and left never liked it. The device that started on it, spent the most time on it, and left on it was a Vortex Flash Hider.
16.   The civil war (reenacted) encampments is where I picked the method up
17. Of course, there's also this option, which I use while camping:   Grind the coffe beans.   Put them in the pot.   Add water.   Apply heat to boil.   Wait.   Drink your coffee, enjoy the crunchies.
18. Same. Melitta pour over, makes excellent coffee. One day, I'll own a Chemex.
19. My Sister and Brother in Law used to go to The Standard, before they had my nephews (one is 2, other is like 4 weeks old).   BiL has also told me to check out Watermark Restaurant.   I don't have any personal experience at either, most of my fine dining has been in other cities (San Fran, Las Vegas, Miami, San Diego, etc).
20. I'll be going tomorrow, be there about 10am or so. I think I've got a couple friends that'll be there as well. Looking for a complete stock + metal for a M1917. Other than that, just after old british web gear, maybe a better repro denison smock than the one I have. Some .303 ammo or blanks would be cool if I come across 'em.   Hersh, you gonna have a table? That's a lot of stuff to tote!
21. And.... yup. This.
