1. Ugh. Wish mine wasn't sporterized. Well, the barreled action is right, but the rest not so much. Been on the stock hunt for a while, not much luck for me. Hopefully your luck is better.
2. Can probably just hang the vtac light mount off to the left of the toprail on the Troy Alpha.   If you don't want the light mount interrupting the top rail, or have something else that needs to be there you could mount a short rail section on the side then attach the vtac light doohickey to that.       EDIT: another option, if you want to spend a little more - mount the rail section in the slot where you want it (the one on the angle, between the side and top) and use this fancy kajigger from surefire Viola! QD release for your flashlight, without removing your mount.
3. Bingo. They're everywhere. I try to keep cardboard up, and corners swept. Works in my space at work. Speaking of spiders... Ted S. has a story.
4.       It's a sticky trap. The exterminators use em to catch spiders, usually brown recluses - they build their webs in low corners and retreat into them after hunting at night. Usually they catch lots of other bugs too. We've got em all over our building. The spiders.
5. Because most of my shots land in the outer borders. Also, my astigmatism. yeah. that.
6.   So many grandfathered magazines.   Me, I just wanna see the fast bullet-button mag changes in the rifles with the shoulder things that go up.
7. Land Between the Lakes. Get a back country permit at the park entrance and you can pull off the road in a lot of places, completely out of sight of anyone and camp right there. There are developed and semi-undeveloped sites as well.   Fire is cool, just have a way to extinguish it properly and try to use local firewood.   Plenty of fishing on/around kentucky lake, and some nice trails and historic monuments in the park as well.
8. So, the uh, melted chocolate bar knife, is on sale at meh.com for 20 bucks + 5 shipping.   Today only, if you were still after one.
9.   Probably me. I had the surefire 6p with the brass led pill.
10.   Well, when you put it that way... But at least one or two times that we get up and move around. Might also help if we didn't sit in just one giant line. Later arrivals got stuck on the fringes for much of the night, and the line kind of necessitated a split into two main groups.   But yeah, a TGO speed dating event. Minus the dating.   A range day is certainly in order.   Either way, was good event to get out and meet some people, put faces with names/avatars, and shoot the breeze. Thanks for setting this one up, maroonandwhite.
11. Good to meet many of you as well, and to shake hands with some of you I didn't get the chance to meet.   As for meeting more people next go round, someone needs to Mad Hatter it up.
12. Oh man, that's gonna be loud till the rest gets cleared.
13. I'll try to come bug you fellas. I'm on call that week, and they seem to save all the trouble for my turn at the watch.
14. $79 is a pretty darn good price.   Before you format the drive, download the drivers for Win 7 from the computer manufacturer and save a USB drive and burn to a disc for safe keeping. You may need them just to install Win 7. You'll also want these because your newer laptop will likely need drivers not included in Win 7.
15. If you're not sure about the Emerson wave - try it out for cheap.
16. Well, as Independence Day approaches the inevitable has occurred. Fireworks Tents. Everywhere.   Though they're never in Davidson County, seems the residents always procure vast quantities and set them off at random hours of the night. From mortars to fountains, those in close proximity to my house have generally given our neighborhood our own little fireworks display leading up to and for a few days after the 4th.   Last night, however, was a little different..   Seems the neighborhood residents (likely kids) didn't find the noise and excitement of firecrackers interesting enough, and decided they should resonate in a chamber. Deciding against picking a metal garbage can (of which there are plenty nearby), tin can, or any other container- they decided to forgo these less important chambers that are often busy holding dog food, loose items, and spiders. As what might be more perfect than my mailbox. Large, metal, and easily accessible. As stated, perfect.   So, their firecrackers readied, the individuals had their fun and vacated, leaving their mess, and luckily very little damage this time. Now my mailbox needs some minor door repair and a replacement flag. Hopefully some loose hardware I've got in the workshop will suffice for the door, flags are cheap, about 5 bucks and my time.   All this to say - remind your kids: Vandalism is wrong. Vandalizing a mailbox is a federal offense. Hopefully I'll catch the kids if they attempt a 2nd go (I'm sure they'll go bigger next time) and inform them of what they need to do to straighten up before it causes them (and me) any more headache.
17. Nah, they just auto generated the shipping label to go with the pick-list. Don't believe it till you get tracking updates that it's on its way.
18. I've got a friend that's deployed in Kuwait right now, he's a tank commander, I'm sure he'd enjoy them and would likely pass them around. I'll get his address if you're game.
19. +1 for O'Relly's Auto Parts, where we take ours to be turned.
20.   Definitely nothing directly with regards to the BATFE. If a case were to come up through the court system they could get behind it. They could also lobby congress to pass legislation restricting the BATFE. I wouldn't hold my breath on either.
21. Just the video, for anyone that doesn't want to load the site
22. Hokay. first and foremost... consider replacing your old case. Fans are likely worn out, and newer cases have some awesome airflow setups. I really like my Corsair Air 540. It's ridiculous, and the easiest case to build in I've ever had.   AMD Build -     Intel Build    Note. I enjoy building, and enjoy taking them apart and rebuilding. Usually end up with a new system every 3 years or so, old boxes go to family/friends for basically the cost of the OS+Case, which starts me on my next build. If I didn't, then I definitely wouldn't get into this at all. It can be frustrating when you have no clue which part is broken down, and you're reading through memory dumps to find a clue as to what's screwed up. Or when you're reading trouble LEDs off the mobo. That's the worst.   Anyway... Good luck!   PS: The listed cooler is tall. be aware of that and measure the case you're using. Also, these GPUS dump a lot of heat. if you don't have a well vented case - the cpu cooler will not keep the cpu cool. and bad things. all the bad things. go closed loop water cooling (with temp monitoring - in case the pump fails! can happen!) if you can. Don't do a custom loop. too much work, too expensive.
23.   If I may ask, which games?   Also, for the purposes of me creating a parts list for this build...   Do you have...   A licensed copy of windows to install?   An ATX case in good condition that has good-excellent ventilation?   Storage (hdd, etc?)   DVD/Blu-Ray drive/drives?   Thanks!
24.   Whether or not he was arrested is beside the point. He was taken into custody for being a danger to himself, and committed into Peninsula. That sounds to me like it falls under ATF Form 4473's question 11.f - and would qualify him as a prohibited person. I am not a lawyer. You and he may need to speak with one.
