Employment Background Checks? How do you find what is out there?
wewoapsiak replied to R_Bert's topic in General Chat
No, there are hard credit pulls and soft credit pulls. Background checks, credit karma, etc should be soft pulls and they don't a mess with your score. Hard credit pulls are the ones to watch out for, and they come when you apply for a loan, etc. I had place I wanted to rent from do a hard pull and flipped, they had no clue about hard pulls vs soft pulls. -
:( One day I'll be a slave to the comcast overlords again. I always took them for granted before I moved, now I'm stuck with this and 10GB per month.

And here I'm trying to save $10k so I can get Comcast...

I'm not saying that hiding your ssid is silly, but if someone is looking to jack your personal stuff it's not going to help you. Sure, it might stop your 14 year old neighbor, but using wireshark or any number of programs, the bad people can find you anyway. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/28653/debunking-myths-is-hiding-your-wireless-ssid-really-more-secure/

Gmail, via myaccount.gmail.com allows you to download all of your email in a zip file. You can actually do a lot on that site, track your phone, ring your phone, wipe / lock it, etc

What sort of email? Yahoo, Gmail, Outlook? Outlook makes it easy to download your emails IIRC, to download your gmail you have to go to myaccount.gmail.com and select download data. From there you can select your mail and you can download it in a zip format. Yahoo sucks and doesn't let you export your email easily. How to download outlook emails (this lady is unnecessarily wordy, shows you how around 3min) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fL8y6IlD-qE How to use dropbox: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gybe_YlpAe4

My current setup is the 5.3 gal plastic Scepter jerry can from Northern Tool, can get them for less than $20 when on sale or with a coupon, then add the EZ Pour replacement spout. I rotate gas but thanks for the Pri test results, interesting info.

I try to drop this link in whenever someone brings this topic up, http://www.networkcameracritic.com/ This guy has done a lot of research on different cameras, NVRs, etc.

Not being tin foil wearing here, but how do you think Google knows traffic conditions? Cell phone triangulation and gps data. Having an app show a notification depending on location is easy for them.

http://money.cnn.com/2015/01/20/news/kalashnikov-made-in-usa/ Something I didn't expect to see during shot show, apparently Kalashnikov is going to get around that pesky little import ban and start making rifles here in the US. According to AK Operators Union "AK News BOMB!!!! Kalashnikov concern is in process of opening production here in USA. If everything will go well, we will see first, made in USA Kalashnikov Concern AKs later this year!!! All calibers will be produced, including Saiga 9 in 9mm." Fingers crossed nobody screws this up, more competition hopefully means lower prices on the toys I want to buy.

Atlantic Firearms have been talking about this thing for quite a while. 9mm AK using colt pattern mags, last round bolt hold open, etc. Drum mags aren't working too well right now, their testing is mainly with ASC mags. This video is just a teaser though, no real info given other than what they've said in their thread. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmN3Ja3yLW0

Lian Neeson converting to Islam? Now I understand...
wewoapsiak replied to Will Carry's topic in General Chat
He's not converting to Islam, the dailymail is a crap rag that isn't to be taken seriously. Like CZ said, this rumor started back during Taken 2; and honestly why do we care so much about what actors think or do in their personal lives? The man could become a tongue speaking, snake kissing Baptist who only eats fried butter and puppies and I'd still watch one of his movies if it looks good. -
We get it, you don't like pits. You can provide reason as to why and others can provide reason as to why they don't, I don't think you're changing any minds. I'm leery around them myself as my mom has been attacked by one, but then again people are leery around my dog because she is supposedly bred to hunt lions, yet she sleeps with cats. But holy crap man...

The Stennis would have "volunteer" cleaning days aboard this and some of the other mothballed ships in Bremerton, these things were rusty pieces of junk who had been cut on and scavenged for various parts and pieces; good riddance.

Apparently today was the day for learning about things I didn't know I needed :screwy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VsHlaWS2xE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPNEgwL159Y And of course, while watching one of these I got this one as an ad... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKLnhuzh9uY

Are you saving it as an .rtf file instead of a .txt file? If you save an rich text format file and then open it with wordpad it will show you the code, but try to open the same .rtf file with MS Word and it'll look normal.

Any plumbers or septic tank experts on board?
wewoapsiak replied to Dustbuster's topic in General Chat
Was half right according to UMN. http://septic.umn.edu/factsheets/additives/index.htm And NDSU http://www.ext.nodak.edu/extnews/newsrelease/2006/030906/11avoidu.htm -
I've had one for what seems a year or so, it hasn't had a round down it yet for various reasons. Its my first bolt gun but playing with it when I first got it, the bolt is very stiff; supposedly it'll loosen up over time. I live up in Clinton and work rotating shift work, but if you'd like to borrow it for a range trip and pop its cherry send me a PM.
-
I think you saw Someone Else's Treasures: Guns, Jewelry, and Thrift, since the range opened they seem to have changed their sign to S.E.T. I haven't been in there so I can't judge them, some guy posts on a facebook gun groups from time to time about getting $500 in store credit if you hit an 8 ball target from 50ft.

Getting in shape, round's a shape right?
wewoapsiak replied to whitewolf001's topic in Training Discussions
Good luck with it! My wife and I watched the same documentary you did a few years ago, went out and bought a juicer and everything; we couldn't do it for a myriad of reasons and it was too expensive for us at the time anyway. Not advocating anything since you know your body and your health, but to put the bug in your ear I eventually did the ketogenic diet for a while which helped me lose a lot of weight, and it was a diet I could stick to easily. -
