  1. Circa 2008 I tried to walk through TSA security with a pack of razor blades in m pocket.  On days that I was flying I would usually wear shorts, no belt, and sandals.  I remove everything from my pockets and put it in my carry on.  This is the fastest way that I have found to get through the line.  This particular day I was having problems walking through the metal detector.  Couldn't for the life of me figure out what the problem was.  I failed, walked through again, failed, patted myself down, didn't feel anything, failed again, patted myself again and finally felt a vial in the bottom of my cargo pocket.  I had been keeping the blades on me because my employees were not very responsible with them keeping up with them and whatnot and supplies were very hard to come by so I disbursed them as needed.  I panicked when I felt them and just grabbed them and tossed them in the trash.  I did it so quickly the TSA agent didn't know what was going on and asked me what it was, I just replied "razor blades, can't get on an airplane with those" with a big smile.  They let me go without saying anything else, but I was concerned that they could have taken it further.
  2. Someone who doesn't understand what 911 is for obviously.  Illegal parking hardly constitutes a life or death emergency.
  3. Parking in a handicap space? Karma is a mean old lady with a killer memory, they will get theirs.
  4. Haven't been out since Thanksgiving. Just got on stand at a location that hasn't been hunted this year. Not a lot of movement here traditionally but they are heavily pressured on all surrounding land so I thought that I would give it a shot. I'll be danged if I don't have people on 2 sides of me probably within a half mile target shooting like ammo it's free or something. I had a great early season but it seems my luck has hit a wall.
  5. Back when Mosins were cheap and disposable I once doused one in Windex after shooting and stuck it in the safe.  It sat there for a good 6 months with no rust before I took it out again and cleaned it properly.
  6. I wore them for about 5 years and got to where I could no longer wear them.  Went back to glasses until eventually I got Lasik.  Best money I've ever spent on myself.
  7. I recognize her from TV!
  8. Won't do any good anyway.  There are tons of these websites.  Can't imagine how much it would cost to get it taken down from all of them, it's really nothing short of extortion, and if we still live in a society where we are innocent until proven guilty then this is a pretty crappy thing to do but I think we all know that there are far to many people out there who have zero morals when it comes to making a buck.
  9. Thanks Red, I did not know that BP and modern powder were measured differently, that explains my discrepancies for sure.
  10. I got bit hard by the muzzle loader bug this past deer season.  A friend was nice enough to loan me a rifle for the season and I had a great time while taking two deer with it.  I recently aquired my own muzzleloader but I haven't bought any ammo for it yet.  The one I borrowed was a .45 and the one I bought was a .50.  I used Powerbelts to hunt with but I was pretty displeased with their performance, specifically they don't seem to expand much.  One deer folded, the other ran 300 yards on a lung shot.  I will try the Hornadys next season.  In the mean time I'd like to do a fair amount of shooting before deer season starts.  I want to get to know this gun well and use it to its potential.  It seems that commercial hunting rounds are $1+ a piece which gets a little pricey when shooting several.  Seems like this might be worth the investment to start casting, especially since I wouldn't mind casting .45 ACP as well.  Besides that what could I shoot economically?  I would think that mini balls won't give me anywhere near the same performance of a conical bullet at any significant distance.    The rifle that I have aquired is what appears to be a CVA Buckhorn.  I realize that there are many variables but what effective range could I expect to see out of this gun?  I've always used loose powder in the past but I'm really wondering if pellets would be more accurate?   It seems that it is hard to get exactly the same measure of powder each time using a powder measure.  In addition to that 100 grains of powder in my measure was only about 84 grains per my scale.    Thanks in advance for replies.  I'm already working to make sure I have a great muzzle loader season next year, just trying to get on the right track.
  11. I've seen this several times today in various places.  I can't believe someone would be irresponsible enough to think that this is a good idea.  Appalling.
  12. My carrier leaves parcels on the table on our front porch with the paper mail  on TOP of the box.  Getting a parcel means I have to chase my mail all over the neighborhood.
  13.   We stream everything we watch.  I guess how much TV people watch is relative.  We use 30 gigs per month almost like clockwork.  I've been off work for the past two weeks and I've used 45 gigs in the past 30 days.  Provided your location I would get an antenna, stream away and live happily ever after while being $100 richer each month.
  14. I have killed almost all of my deer before 10:30am and after 2:30 pm, main reason being is because that is when I hunt the most.  I've always done most all of my hunting in Unit L, very few days occur that I enter the woods before daylight and don't kill something before 8am, or so.  Normally I will hang the morning deer up, and maybe skin and quarter depending on the weather and/or go take a nap then head back out around 3 pm.  Back when I bow hunted I would usually stay on stand all day from sun up to sundown.  I killed a nice 8 pointer one year right at noon and it was 84 degrees.  In my experience deer will bed down just after daylight and move again around lunchtime to get some food and water, then bed again until just before dark.  If I hunted somewhere where the deer were less plentiful I might look harder at the lunar tables.  I'm sure the lunar pull has some affect to wildlife activity.  Ask anyone who has worked in law enforcement if lunar activity affects the way people act.  Nothing in my opinion beats getting out in the woods preseason and patterning the deer.
  15. Not on your side of the state but if you ever get over to Knoxville check out the Casual Pint.  I've been out of the bar scene for many years but my wife and I enjoy an occasional trip to the Pint.  They carry about 25 regionally local craftbrews on tap and literally hundreds in cans and bottles.  The atmosphere is very laid back, yet classy.  There are about 5 locations around the Knoxville area.
  16. Haven't been to a theater in over 10 years.  May have to go check this one out though.  Looks pretty good.  Do they serve beer in theaters yet?  I always thought that they should.
  17. The problem here is that you are throwing the term "man" around too loosely.  If he were a real man he would be putting the needs of the people that he "serves" first instead of denying them services to feed his own agenda.  A real man puts those who depend on him first and himself second.
  18. I'm cornfused.  That holster is just plain stupid in my opinion, way too complex for a holster, reminds me of Robocop for some reason.  Still scratching my head on the Handi Racker, just what is the point there?
  19. As great as that would be, we can't even get gun owners to boycott restaurants with gun busters on the door.  Getting the idiotic American public to stand for anything will be impossible.
  20. This is a lot of the reason we fired Comcast.  Every single month our bill was wrong.  Like $100 or more wrong.  We would spend a significant amount of time each month calling or making a trip to the local office, which really isn't that local.  It wasn't worth the trouble.  I miss it sometimes but it certainly hasn't killed me.    By the way, we use a Google Chromecast.  Although it is easy to use, and you can use a PC, tablet, or smart phone to control it mine has always been very buggy.  The biggest inconvenience is that I have to reset the router almost every time I use it also has issues with the video and audio getting out of synch.  The Chromecast is cheap but if I were in the market I'd spend the extra money on a Roku.
  21. Prayers for your family.
  22. After Comcast tried to screw us back around the early spring we got rid of our cable and have only missed it a handful of times.  We live in this funky hole and can get 2 channels on an antenna between about 7 pm and noon, and sometimes they are iffy.  So, we don't really mess with the antenna.  The only time that we have really missed it is during the UT football season, I did figure out how to stream the games but they are rather poor quality and my wife misses TWD.  We watched most of the away UT games with friends, we would bring a nice dinner to their place and stay for the game.  We would do the same with the TWD with some other friends.  We watch a lot less brain numbing TV and it's a good excuse to see friends.
  23. Honda or Yamaha all the way.  PM inbound.
  24. Yes, trust me, we do not want to be like NC.
  25. Had a brain fart for 6,7, and 8, the rest I got right.  Too many years working around stupid people kept me on my toes.
