    Barbecutie

I'm a cheap buzzard, but I'd pay more to eat somewhere that welcomes my gun.
  2. I picked up my 336 10 years ago for $125.  I was told it had only had 20 rounds through it, it was like new and still had the inspection sticker on the underside of the forearm.  Still I've used it.  It's my back up deer rifle to my .270 which see's at least 75% of my deer hunting action.  But it's there, it's not going anywhere, and if I need to use it I will without hesitation, I didn't buy it to sit in a safe.
  3. I agree that this is your best bet.  Problem I see with a pre paid legal agreement is your case getting handed to some rookie, made it through law school with a D average flunkie.  I'd rather hand choose an attorney with a proven record.
  4. I hear that they go great with a side of carp.
  5. Glad to hear this because Groupon is about the only business I "cheat on" involving their forearms policy.  We try to only eat organics and we use a lot of their $100 of Meat for $50 Mother Earth Meats Groupons.  Also planning on taking a vacation for our 5th aniversary and have been shopping Groupon for packages, they really do have some attractive offers.
  6. We have a name for people like that.  We call them girls.
  7. Reminds me of the best South Park episode ever!   http://pollystreaming.com/South-Park-Season-13-Episode-12-The-F-Word_v5917
  8. 1)  Get rid of that warranty, you don't need it.  2)  Change the air filter and oil reguarly.  3)  Drive the crap out of it. 4)  Don't jump it or enter demolition derbys with it.
  9. Thanks guys, all of those answers make sense, although I think a lot of the ads I see are a little out there.  Surprise, huh?
  10. Not to derail the subject but what is the deal with these people that think their gun is worth more in trade than in cash.  For example they will say "Glock 17 $450 cash or $550 in trade."   Could be possible that I'm missing something here, just doesn't make sense to me.  I figure if my gun is worth $450 then I should be able to trade you even for your $450 gun, not your gun plus $100.

    Papa Johns

I delieverd for the Papa John's in Lebanon years ago.  There was no policy forbiding customers carrying on the store at that time, drivers were forbidden to carry though.  I did anyway, figured losing my pizza delivery job and keeping my life was an okay tradeoff.
  12. The possible reward does not outweigh the risk in my opinion.  If I were in your shoes and was looking worse case senario at losing five grand if I sold it now I'd be signing the papers and moving along.  I lost a close friend on a similiar deal.  I rented him a property my family owned at a great rate, he was to look after the place and make some repairs in exchange for the cut rate rent.  In the end he never paid any rent and had the heat jacked up to 80 once it got cold since we were still paying the utilities.  The place was in worse shape when we evicted him than when he moved in.  This was a person who I trusted.    Same property a few years later.  We had a leasing company keeping it rented out.  Finally my family decides to sell the place.  It had been rented to various tenants over the past 6 years.  The place was in horrible shape.  It pretty much needed to be gutted and rebuilt.  When you factor in the HVAC units that were purchased for the place, a new roof, and other miscelanous repairs, money was lost on that particular property.  My point is if you rent, even to a trusted friend you could quickly loose in excess of five grand in damages.  I'd say cut your losses and move on.
  13. Good info here!  I always turn off geotagging.  I probably don't have my privacy settings like they should on Photobucket but I don't really have anything on Photobucket that I don't care if the world see's.
  14. I don't think that anyone here will disagree with that.
  15. I wouldn't call this hunting by a long shot.  To me to hunt something means to get as close as you can to it's level, learn its habits, where it eats, sleeps, etc.  However, due to the out of control pig population and the effectiveness of this tactic I see no moral or ethical problem with it, I just wouldn't call it hunting.             Exactley what makes one a professional hunter?  Seems I have choosen the same wrong career path.
  16. Holy crap HD just went from 60 year old technology to cutting line technology!  I have nothing against Harleys, it's the majority of the people that ride them that get on my nerves.  It's the whole "I'm being an individual, but I'm going to wear the same gay looking pirate leather costume as all the other individuals" mentality.  Harley Davidson has become nothing more than a lifestyle of what is best described in the motorcycling communtiy as RUBs, that's "Rich Urban Bikers" they never ride anything that has more than 5,000 miles or is more than 3 years old.  Consequently they can't tell you about the last trip they took out west that the bike didn't ride the majoity of miles on a trailer.  The trip to Alaska, or South America, because the majority of HD riders can onl tell you about the beer and barbecue joints within 50 miles of their house.  I'm not bitter, I just ride a 23 year old Honda ST1100, it's ugly, it's dependable, and I ride the crap out of it, don't care what anyone else thinks.
  17. External flash is a pretty big learning curve.  Took me a while to figure it out, and I sill wouldn't say that I've mastered it but I'd say I'm proficient.  Isn't quite as easy as slapping it onto the camera and shooting just as you were before.
  18. Thank you very much, I'll check that out for sure.
  19. They stock it on Thursdays and/or Fridays.  I really want to learn how to fly fish.  I've been fly fishing for bream and bass since I was about 7 years old but I don't understand the techniquies used for trout, plus fly selection and all that.
  20. I grew up fishing in middle Tennessee and never had much experience with trout.  I've spent a good amount of time off and on the past few years trying to learn how to catch trout.  Seems there is a learning curve for me, I'm still having fun with it though.  Only brought home 1 today but had 3 get off the hook just before I reeled them to me.  Also caught a couple of small mouth, a red eye, and about a dozen suckers, oh and 2 turtles.    Funny thing is I've noticed a pattern over the past few years.  I'll go fishing one day when I haven't been in months and all of th sudden I'm hooked.  I peel off anytime I have a little extra time and get some fishing in.  I think about fishing all the time, it's like a disease, and then it just goes away for a year or two, then I'll be at it again.  I'm just discovering Citico and it's about 40 minutes from the house but it has bit me hard this time.
  21. Medical marijuana will still get you high, actually it gets you higher than regular pot.  With true MM you will know exactly what strain you are consuming as opposed to "bubba pot" that God only knows the contents of.  MM also tends to have higher concentrations of THC.  Different strains will give the user different effects.  Some strains will make the user really hungry, these strains have been known to really help out chemo patients who don't want to eat.  Some strains will relax the user, these have been known to work in the place of heavy drugs used to treat anxiety.  Other strains will cause the user to concentrate, users can use pot instead of dangerous amphetamines.  These are just a few examples of things that marijuana can treat, not to mention daily issues like insomnia, and aches and pains.  Think what you want but I'd rather use a natural plant to treat myself than synthetic chemicals made in a laboratory.
  22. I have a buddy that uses a paddle holster in his strong side motorcycle boot with a LCP.  Works really well while he's riding.  plus since it's a black boot it's really not noticeable if you don't already know it's there.
  23. No point in him calling you out to others, IMO just being a show off.  Knowing that he is likely a gun guy, if he wanted to chat you up he should have just approached you and done so.  If I was made I would have no issue with another gun guy, even a not creepy stranger, asking me about what I am carrying.
  24. I smoked pot for years, even after I was a "grown up."  (Actually didn't be, come a regular user until I was in my late 20's)  Usually daily, sometimes several times per day if I was say just working around the house and not doing anything dangerous or not going anywhere.  Eventually I had to stop due to my job.  Believe it or not there are high functioning people out there that smoke pot, while holding down a full time job, paying a mortgage, raising kids, and going to church on Sundays, I guarantee this applies to several who will read this.  I was no more ashamed to be a pot smoker than I was to drink a beer after work.  I'm certainly not saying that it is fine to smoke pot and handle guns, but to prohibit a person who smokes pot from owning or carrying a gun makes as much sense as prohibiting the same from a person who occasionally drinks a beer or a glass of wine.  It's all about control that is 100% why marijuana isn't legal.   On a related note, I recently had to fill out an ATF form for work and it asked if I was addicted to "alcohol, drugs, or other stimulants."  Only thing that I have an addiction to in this world in caffeine, I'm just a moron until I get about 4 cups of coffee in my system each day.
  25. Love that place, we shop Ollie's first around here.  I've seen gun books there several times.
