I lived in Cookeville from 2004-2008 I would routinely see red foxes in town. They were extremely docile, I've even seen idiots hand feeding them.

Had a bundled package with Comcast. After a little over a year our rate went up about $20 per month. A few months later a bill arrived and it was $80 more than usual. They said that they would be charging us $40 a month per DVR for now on. We turned the DVRs back in but they wouldn't give us cable boxes without DVRs so now we don't have any TV and are paying the same price as when we did but we still have internet and phone. I enjoyed the TV but honestly I don't miss it much. I really hate Comcast but there are no alternatives here. I've had lots of problems streaming Netflix content in HD to my laptop. I've tried different laptops and different operating systems as well and had problems on all of them on this connection. Specifically the video and audio get out of synch. Not sure weather or not this is the "Netflix issue" that you are reffering to. Switch the broadcast to SD and it works fine. I use an Android tablet and a Chromecast to watch Netflix on my TV and it works fine, even in HD.

Another former Walmart employee who approves. I say that a different set of rules apply to Walmart.

No. No. and No! Tires do not make a safe backstop. High risk of richochet.

This is just my take, and as the OP requested, my opinion, and just my experience and opinion. 1) For a casual user I see no plus to an ipad over an Android tablet, at least not enough to justify the expense. The Android will do most everything the ipad will for 1/3 to 1/4 of the price of a comparable Apple product. 2) I picked up a Toshiba tablet a couple of years ago I believe it has a 10" screen which is big for a tablet but honestly I don't want to be squniting to see it. Personally, I don't have a smart phone but most people do. No sense in having a small pad that does the same thing as your small phone, get a pad big enough to easily see. 3) I don't use my pad near as much as I thought that I would. I fiqured my laptop would hardly get used once I got my pad but I don't like using the pad for much more than traveling, streaming content to my TV, and playing a few games that I've downloaded to keep my mind sharp. One of the reasons that I bought it was to take on long motorcycle trips instead of my computer. I've since bought another laptop with a 13" screen that is so small and does so much more than the pad that it now goes on motorcycle trips instead of the pad.

Always enjoyed fishing though I don't get to do it as much as I'd like these days. I was a pretty serious catfisherman at one time. Got pretty serious into the bass game at one time, though I never had any interest in tournament fishing. When I get to fish these days it's either bream fishing with my 4 year old daughter or if I get time to go by myself it's smallies and trout.

Nope, not here, not even with small children in the house. If you need your gun you need it now. Not after you disable 976 safety features to get it into action. Even with a almost 5 year old who has shown nothing but responsibility towards guns a gun in our house is either being worn, in the safe, or on top of our very tall dresser. No if, ands, or buts. Been doing it this way since she was big eough to grab things and it's worked fine.

That'swhat I was thinking. I've seen ground hogs go 30+ pounds, our rat terrier is 14 pounds. And ground hogs are mean!

Walmart is not pro gun, don't be fooled, they are pro money, that is all they care about.

Take this for what it's worth from a guy who has been fishing since he was in diapers. It's easier to buy an ultralight rod than it is to catch trophy sized fish, but with a little rod all the fish feel like lunkers.

I despise that area, it's been ruined. Wife and I made a quick over night get a away to Helen, GA last year (think small scale of Gatlinburg with a German theme. As we are walking down the strip I commented "they have all the same **** here as they do in Gatlinburg." It's all a bunch of Chinese made crap.

I grew up in Wilson County. Back then sports were big, guess there is organized sports of just about every kind there now. There's a church on just about every other corner county wide. I spent much of my youth scouting, Boxwell Scout Reservation is one of the finest Boy Scout Camps in the region, being so close we camped there about a weekend each month and then a week in the summer, lots of good memories. Also fishing and boating opportunities are plentiful being really close to OldHickory Lake and close to Percy Priest.

I've packed everything from a .22 revolver to a 870 with slugs and buckshot while camping and hiking. It depends a lot on what part of the state you are in and what your intent is. (i.e. if I'm carrying a .22 it's going to be for plinking or small game if that scenario allows.) For the purpose of this post I will assume that whatever you are carrying is purely for protection and not recreation or a chance at harvesting game. If you are West of the Smokey Mountains bears are not normally an issue, though they have occasionally been spotted as far east as Cookeville they are rarely ever seen out of the mountains. Disclaimer: I live just at the edge of the mountains, I can see them out my back door, I've never seen a bear within 10 miles or so from here but see them often closer to the mountain. I would estimate that I see a dozen or so per year, but I do spend quite a bit of time in the woods. That said, they are generally not a problem as long as you are smart about your interaction with them. Still I carry a gun in bear country for the same reason that I carry a gun to Walmart. So, for activities west of the Smokey Mountains I'd just carry what ever you normally carry. Pigs are about all you may run into that will give you any problems. Feral dogs perhaps as well. Snakes are no bother, if you have time to take aim at a snake you have time to turn around and walk the other way, they won't chase you. As the others have said the two legged critters are the ones you need to worry about the most. Don't know what it is about nature that brings out the methheads and pillbillies.

FedEx Shooting...amazed no one's posted this already
10-Ring replied to E4 No More's topic in General Chat
I believe they do. If it wasn't posted this will be the largest mass shooting in a carry legal zone in modern history if I'm not mistaken. -

Very good observations. Was hoping someone would chime in with an educated opinion. I really hope you are right and the officers actions were justified. -

Nope actually saw it on Facebook. I know there are two sides to every story. I hope I'm wrong I just can't see how this was legitimate police action. -
I know there are two sides to every story but I think the pictures pretty much sum it up. This is absolutely disgusting. All three of these "LEOs" need to be in the unemployment line in the morning. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2614386/Tennessee-police-photographed-choking-unresisting-college-student-passes-out.html

I would steer clear of any used gift card unless you know and trust the person you are getting it from. I spent several years in loss prevention and in that time I spent a good deal of time messing with gift card fraud. I remember one circumstance where we canceled a gift card after a thief stole merchandise and then returned it. The customer then pawned the gift card and it was purchased by an elderly lady. That old lady was pretty upset that she had spent something like $250 for a $400 gift card that was no good. Thing is you have zero recourse if you buy a bogus card. If you decide to buy one anyway, meet the seller at the store, have the store tell you the amount on the card then use the card immediately.

I'm a cheap SOB and I like Glocks, so I've come up with my own solution.

Inspired by ramblings in another thread. I got curious as to the carrying habits of people who carry. I carried all day everyday for years but due to a recent job change my personal habits have changed. Just wondering what the rest of the world does.

Open carry bill defeated in the house
10-Ring replied to Dustbuster's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Most people I know carry on their person most of the time. I do know quite a few "car carriers" though. Might make for an interesting poll topic. I carried on me everywhere I possibly could until a recent job change. New job (small company) allows carry but the nature of the job is not friendly to the gun (very dirty.) For the first time in years I'm not carrying near as much as I used to. Glad I still can when I want to though. -
I've been a member of a number of forums over the years. These days it's TGO, and a small forum where we all know each other in person and just use the forum to communicate and share news more than anything else. I was active on motorcycle forums for many years and I'm all but completely out of them now. I still ride but have a family and don't get to ride as much. Some of the forums went down hill, another I was very active on but it was a model specific forum, I got rid of mine and tried to stay active on the forum but it just wasn't happening. I was on a larger gun forum and pretty active until I found TGO then kind of lost interest in the bigger forum. I will say that my best forum experiences have been smaller to say medium sized forums. Forums where you recognize the names of most everyone that posts. I've also found that I kind of enjoy it more when I actually have met members on the forum in person.

I'm just going to throw this out there. I worked loss prevention for several years, including a short stint at Walmart. Removing the bar code or defacing a bar code is enough to get you a shoplifting charge due to the fact that the merchandise can no longer be sold. Nothing they can do about hiding merchandise though. I guess a manager could ask you to leave but managers at Walmart have a response time of about 3 hours more often than not.
