I call BS, like you could actually find a Walmart associate.

I have a Thunder .380 that I bought brand new in 2004 for $157, those days seem to be past. Functions great, eats all ammo I've ever fed it, is accurate as all get out, tough as heck, and a pleasure to shoot. Downside? For it's size and weight I have several other guns that have 3 or more of the following qualities over the Bersa; lighter, higher capacity, smaller size, bigger caliber. Obviously it's not one of my favorite carry guns but it is reliable and is one of my favorite shooters.

This is the bone we are thrown since open carry was dropped?

I think we are around $500 a month on groceries. We are a family of 3. We eat mostly organic and natural foods, very little if anything that is processed. Daughter is intolerant to most foods so we spend a lot of money buying a bunch of food that most of you have never heard of so she has more choices. We buy our meat from a local butcher, we get our meat for the same price as grocery store meat thanks to coupons, it takes a little extra work though. Though our grocery bill is a little high for a family of 3 we off set that by eating out very rarely. My wife and I eat out about once a month when my daughter is with grandparents, just not fair to take her along when she can't eat the restaurant food.

Glad to still be here. I probably tend to stir the pot a bit but I try not to use a spoon bigger than my mouth. I also try to make a valid point when I stir the pot and really try to educate or at least present a different view on something instead of attempting to belittle whoever it is that I'm talking to. If I've ever offended anyone on here I apologize and would be glad to buy you a beer sometime. Personally even though the gun wasn't aimed at me this time for all I know I could have been 7th on the list, so I will be paying closer attention to what I post. As for those that got hit with the ban hammer I'm not sure of their exact actions but was glad to see a couple of them gone just because of their demeanor in general, hopefully the forum now consists of people who bring more to the table than they take away from it.

Alcohol Limit For Beer To Be Raised In Tennessee?
10-Ring replied to waynesan's topic in General Chat
I see no downside at all. No one will be getting drunker, crime will not go up, alcoholism will not rise, no matter what the hardcore conservatives may tell you. (Not something I normally say, but I try to be enlightened) If anything it will help commerce, give beer drinkers more choices, and if we are lucky give us some brews that we can own and brag about because "they make this where I live." -
For me it's photography and motorcycles. I seem to collect cameras, camera equipment and motorcycles, I have 6 at the moment. I have a motard for the twisty stuff and dual sporting purposes. Another DS project bike. I really like to tour and have a touring bike but haven't been able to much due to life and having a full time job. I also race mini bikes in a local league. Never been into the cruiser bar hopping thing, nor will I ever be, I have no desire to own a heavy, poor handling, underpowered bike that doesn't out perform my old touring bike in any form or fashion.

Sam, were you the guy that hit the rock wall on the right northbound just before mile marker 4? I remember that crash. -

Are we not all, as consumers, entitled to judge whether someone is price gouging or not? Personally I would have no issue bashing a gun shop that was blatantly gouging their customers (say selling $100 bricks of .22.) More questionable gouging I wouldn't personally do it. Of course if a fella was pricing his goods fairly then he wouldn't have anything to worry about.
-
Because you are taking advantage of your customer. Not that I would feel bad for a customer that isn't willing to do their homework. The right thing to do will be subjective to each individual, I think it's clear that you and I have a different idea about what the right thing to do here is. I'm looking at this scenario from the standpoint of a consumer and that is all. As a consumer I would not shop at any establishment that had a history of price gouging. I'm sure others here feel the same way. When it boils down to it a seller can do as they please but when they make questionable calls they may loose business over it. I'm completely in favor of capitalism and with it things like this happen, fortunately thanks to capitalism I'm free to go shop somewhere else as well.

Say you have been selling that same pencil for years for $1, all of the sudden the pencil becomes scarce and there are stupid people out there convinced and willing that they should buy all of the pencils that they can get their hands on even if they cost $1 million a piece. Before this panic hit you were getting the pencils wholesale for $0.50 and you were happy selling them for $1. At this point you decide to charge more money for the same product just because you can, yep that's being a d***, not to mention taking advantage of your customers. A good business man will take care of his customers. A business man who doesn't take care of his customers will not be a business man for long. I don't see that anyone is being forced to do anything. And yes it does take two to tango that's why I despise the people that pay inflated prices just as much as much as I despise the ones selling it at inflated prices. For the record I refuse to pay more than $30 per 500 for .22 and I have plenty for me and mine, most of which I have acquired since Newtown. I could normally care less about what stupid people do but when their actions affect what I pay for ammo I start to care.
-
It's all about ethics. If I chose not to shop somewhere because they are gouging customers it's not because I'm protesting capitalism, it's because I'm protesting that business owner being a d***. He has the right to screw his customers and his customers have the right to shop elsewhere.

I don't believe they charge you until they process the order. At which time you will be asked if you still do want to order. Check with someone who knows this for sure though.

Can the be aimed onto another piece of property? Yes, you are legal to point it wherever you want as long as the camera is physically on your property. There is no expectation of privacy outside of ones residence.

My four year old daughter had cataract surgery on both of her eyes earlier this year and we've noticed vast improvements in her vision. My prediction is that not only will it make your shooting much better but it will greatly improve your quality of life.

Advocare is a company that sells healthcare supplements. It's basically a pyramid scheme. I have several friends that sell the stuff. These people are quickly falling into the category of people who I don't consider to be friends anymore. Seems I'm constantly getting phone calls, e-mails, etc. to give it a try and come sell it. I have one person who I considered a pretty good friend who I now don't even want to be around because he can't manage to have a conversation without talking about it. Ironically I eat mostly organic foods and I'm pretty picky about what I consume, basically if I can't readily pronounce it and know exactly what it is I don't eat it and Advocare products have a lot of those things. Anyone else run into this?

Found this link the other day and enjoyed the magazine. Looks like it's written for game wardens but IMO had quite a bit of interesting material. https://www.dropbox.com/s/pbwz5h2finamc8t/TWOA%20Issue%205%20Feb%202014%20FOR%20WEBSITE.pdf

^^^^ Yeah, is that even considered humane? On a related note it seems that most municipalities want nothing to do with any wildlife problem. Back in my management days I had an employee knock on my office door, I opened up and he handed me a cardboard box and says "I caught this raccoon in the parking lot." Needless to say I wasn't happy about the situation and the main thing running through my head was something along the lines of "I can't wait for this thing to bust out of this box and go ape s*** in my office." The thing was obviously not right as it was being contained by a cardboard box. I first called TWRA, they had no interest in coming to get it. I called the local PD and was told "we don't do animals." I flipped to the government section of the phone book and started calling and talking to anyone that would listen. Eventually someone I talked to got a hold of the sheriffs department for me and they sent someone out to pick it up. Ironically PD dispatch asked me if I had a gun that I could shoot it with, even after I informed them that I worked at a local retail store which was in the middle of town.

There is nothing wrong with thanking someone for a job well done, be it a police officer, a sales clerk, or a street sweeper. When a person who is in a given position expects the rest of the world to bow down and kiss their feet I certainly have no more respect for them regardless of whether or not they have any authority. I've needed and received police assistance before, I was always thankful and let the officers know it, but like I previously mentioned I'm glad to thank anyone who did their job which resulted my benefit. Heck I usually thank the minimum wage employees in the drive through that hand me my food, it's polite.

I've always liked guns but never felt a need to compulsively buy them. Guns themselves may be an addiction, heck I would even call it a lifestyle, but I've always been content with what I had and welcomed a new gun into the fold when the right deal came along. Always wanted a 1911, and I waited for years until a really good deal on a Kimber came my way. Most guns that I have came to me in a similar fashion. At times in life when I had excess money I certainly bought more guns. These days with a 4 year old, a wife in college, and a mortgage the purchase of fun things is but a distant memory and something to aspire to again.

You would be crazy to not spend the extra little bit of money and get a 642. I'm sure every now and then Taurus makes a good gun that works right, I've handled the TCP and I will agree that it is impressive. BUT... how many threads on this board can you find where someone has had an issue with their Taurus? A lot more than you can find where someone has had a problem with their 642.

I have Comcast and I have cable simply because there is no discount for not having cable. That said I watch the majority of TV via streaming. I personally use Chromecast only because I had one given to me. I've used Roku before and I like them. The Chromecast seems finicky in regards to actually working. I had to update the firmware of my router to get it to work, and I usually have to reset the router to get it to work, but not more than once per day. As previously mentioned the Chromecast does not have a remote but must be operated from a computer, smartphone, or tablet. This doesn't seem to be much of an issue as my computer is right next to me when I am watching TV, or you can use a device such as an old smartphone that you no longer otherwise use as a dedicated remote. But for $35 it's hard to beat. I've been a Netflix subscriber for years but they are getting the axe. The last 5 movies I've tried to watch have not been available to stream. Basically they don't have jack for movies. I did just purchase an Amazon Prime membership so I can still steam stuff, even though the Prime selection is lacking as well. At least with Prime I get free 2 day shipping on Amazon purchases (So long as the seller does not opt out) and my wife gets a free rental book on her Kindle each month. EDIT: Chromecast will not work with Amazon Prime, I know that Roku will, I may be picking up a Roku now.
