So you're shooting a 16" barreled .308 with a muzzle brake?  Of course it's loud!  Piston vs DI has nothing to do with it.   Ever heard a Saiga .308 that comes with no brake?  It's deafening.   Never listen to RSO's, except when the say Cold or Hot and other range orders.  They apparently are worse than gun store people.

Basically, the Shield has the best trigger in the business for that size pistol, excluding Glock.   Never shot a Sig 938 but that's not quite the same type of gun.

1.  Yes.  Apex makes a trigger kit just like they do for all other M&P's.  I believe there is also some shadetree smithing you can do to smooth it out.  I haven't needed either.  Perfectly happy with mine.   2.  I kinda doubt it.

      The CMP does not import Garands or any other rifle.  Their sole source is the US Army.  When rifles are returned from overseas they go to the Army (government) which them turns them over to the CMP.

  Dumb, no doubt, as I read this as only applying to weapons made in the US then shipped overseas.  Like all those M1 Garands they've been trying to get back from Korea for the past 5 years.

Pretty sure they don't Lester.   This is a direct shot at law-abiding collectors and NFA trust-holders.  The background check with the trust does kinda make sense in a way as a convicted felon theoretically could come into possesion of restricted items, if I understand the system correctly.   The importation restriction make no sense whatever.  All this will do is prevent old semi-auto, bolt-actions and pistols (all C&R) to be brought back into the country.
