BTW, if you Google Tisas 1911a1, this thread comes up first.

Oh look, it’s back again! The thread that never stops! That’s a great price on a basic 1911! I have the Tisas U.S. Army 1911a1 and it a very reliable pistol. And as JMB intended, it’s combat accurate. I bought it because it was the closest model for sell, that was like the one I carried in the Army. But instead of “character lines” it looks brand new.

I'm not surprised! Those were some fair prices. -
I think it has it's place, but not in my arsenal. For one, I have never liked this types of revolvers. And for another, not at the MSRP of $949. My dad on the other hand has been interested in one of these since he saw one. He's not a gun person, but he had a .410 shotgun and so it resonates with him.

Isn't basically a scaled Tok? Sorta looks like one. Personally like the little .32ACP caliber. It's very pleasant to shoot. Still looking for a nice Beretta Cheetah in .32acp.

Dang! Another good deal!!! GLWS!!! -
Well Taurus doesn't really make anything to compete with a Glock, so it really wasn't an issue in my mind. It would be a whole different story if it were S&W, SIG or FNH.

Me too! There's a lot of knowledge there.

We must be on the same forum. And I post there under the same name.

This actually saddens me. First of all, I hate that Barrett is now owned by a foreign company. Let's face it Australia is not a bastion of 2A rights. So you have to figure that any Australian defense company is going to be toeing the Australian Government line, in order to keep their defense contracts. Second of all, I hate that the Barrett family is no longer in the firearms business. They were one of the few that told California to shove it and they stopped selling their weapons to state and local LE agencies, there. They even went so far as to refuse to service the weapons they'd already sold there. And made the LE agencies actually fly individuals to Tennessee to pick up their weapons. That was clear signal to the state that they were no longer welcome to do business with Barrett. I highly doubt that is going to be the case going forward.

I am. Nice one! Congratulations!!!

Neither was I, but suddenly, I've found that I own three of them! How that happened, I have no clue!!! The three I own are a Tisas Fatih (Cheetah clone), a Ruger LCP Max and a Walther PPK/s. The Fatih is my recliner pistol. The LCP Max is my small, discreet carry pistol and the Walther is something to look at and not shoot very often. It's not a fun range toy at all. I'd much rather it be in .32ACP. Then it might be handy.

I'm a fan of Tisas. I own two and both have been excellent guns. I have the BR380 Fatih (Cheetah 84 Clone) and the SDS U.S. Army 1911a1. Glad you are enjoying your new 1911!!!

Here's the link to the new Cheetah. Not a fan. Why do they feel the need to tacticool everything now-a-days? The original Cheetah was a beautiful pistol. The new one is Fugly (note the capital F). I'm okay with the optic cutout, but that rail under the dust cover just sucks. The back of the grip is too straight. There isn't an elegant line on this pistol. Wood grips would have been much nicer, for $800. One thing they did do right, is slim the grip down, though. I also love the dovetailed front sight. For $800, there should be a night sight on it. 80X Cheetah (beretta.com)

So if the barrel is fixed, Wouldn't there be more felt recoil?

I'd buy one, just for the Beretta name, but I will not pay that for it. I can't see me paying that for one either, even for the Beretta name, since I like this Tisas so much. The one thing that the Beretta has that the Tisas Fatih does not have, is a decocker. It's manual safety only, just like the original Beretta 84. That doesn't bother me, but I have already been told by one person, that he wouldn't have it because of that. I cut my teeth shooting 1911a1s and they didn't have a decocker either. I just learned how to lower a hammer, on a live round. Or I drop the mag and eject the live round. But I guess that was hard for him...

If you ever get over to this part of the state, we'll meet up and you can shoot mine! For the money, I think they are had to beat compared to other compact .380s. That being said, it's off the rotation. I rotate between the Max-9 and the LCP Max. Both are lighter and easy to carry.

The P64, is really an almost direct copy of the Walther PP. Classic pistol design! But 9x18 MAK has to kick like a mule in that pistol!!! Call me a whimp, but .380ACP out of my Walther PPK/s is painful after about 2 mags... The commie pistol I'd like to pick up is the Czech VZ50 or VZ70 in .32ACP (both Walther clones). Now that would be a comfortable caliber to shoot in that type of pistol!!!
