I have been waiting and watching for one of those to pop up for sale.

Let's see, right off the top of my head: Bersa Thunder .380 - I have several and have yet to be disappointed. Taurus revolvers in .22,.38 and .357 - I have had several over the years with never a problem and they were all fine shooters. I still have several in .38 and one Taurus Tracker 6" .22 that is more fun than a drunk squirrel. PSA Dagger Compact - Relatively new to the market it is a "Glock 19 Knock Off" by some folks descriptions. I like it far better than the Glock and put about 300 rounds through it last Sunday adorned with a Vortex Venom and it ran like Grannies sewing machine. I think it is one of the best "Bangs for the Buck" on the market as far as compact 9mm.

I use the Chamberlain outdoor wireless motion alarm system. I have one on the 300' driveway which works very well. I added additional transmitters around the property perimeter and zones set to different tones. (1, 2, 3, 4 beeps etc.) this tells me from which direction or sensor zones have been activated. I also have one located inside my detached garage in the event some one made it inside there. They can be beaten if you know where they are yet they are concealed. I have them set to prevent my dogs from activating them. On rare occasions I have had deer activate my driveway sensor.

Try and get all the loose paint off. Under the circumstances you may need to Kilz it first then semi-gloss.

Let's not forget the wonders of Fresca. As I recall, the Fresca commercials had the best looking girls.

Most of what I would mention has already been mentioned. There doesn't seem to be any real writers anymore. Everything is a copy (remake) of something that has already been done that was successful, or newly written garbage pushing an agenda, or remake of something that was originally successful but now remade and pushing agendas.

My Dad always told me to "Use my head for something besides a hat rack". I hope that maybe I achieved that goal.

For years I preached at my kids to maintain "Situational Awareness" and always remember that "two is one and one is none". I have since heard both my kids repeat these. Made my chest swell.

Thanks much, the profession has changed a lot just in the last 10 years and not for the better. I miss the job but could not stand the politics that now permeate the profession. I left with many good stories to tell and many that don't need to be told due to the ugliness of humanity they portray, those I keep to myself.

I don't even begin to use training as an argument in this case. But in general that is the first area cut during budget stress periods. Most agencies have a year probationary period for all new hires. It is during this time that a rookies' moral make up and maturity level should be assessed as to their fit for duty status. If warning signs arise they should be let go, otherwise it would be considered negligent retention on the part of the administration. It pains me to write these responses because I am about as pro-police as you can get, but what I see here is an insult to all the good officers and administrations out there.

It was my suspicion that they were inexperienced young officers. Some would argue that. From my experience three years and less are automatic rookies still learning the job and more importantly how to deal with the authority of their positions. These folks require mature strong supervision. It would take at least five years of progressively proven commendable service to warrant placement on a so called special high crimes, quick response or tactical team assignment. Their placement in this capacity was bad judgement of the Administration.

I have waited for more facts to make any comment on this. The video is fact enough. As a retired LEO, that was simply a gang beat down, not an arrest. There is nothing that Tyre could have done in the past or present that could justify this beating. Mind you, there were a few times in my career that the urge arose to do so, such as arresting violent pedophiles, I did not and neither did my shift mates. We made the arrest using only the force required to subdue. I imagine this will be a short trial, just show the video. I would like to speak to the not as obvious that no one has mentioned. I am curious as to how many years each of these thugs had on the force. Over the past 20 years I have watched as agencies large and small have lowered their hiring standards to fill positions for lack of qualified applicants, or applicants desired by ever increasingly liberal administrations. Add this to the fact that when budgets in municipal and county agencies get tight the first area to be cut is training. Now add on top of that the media and political far left attack in general on anybody that wears a badge. As a professional old school LEO, this trend has been sad to watch. Unfortunately I believe this is only going to get worse. Just sad.

Whenever I am asked for a phone number at checkout I just give them 867-5309. Occasionally I will hear a chuckle from someone in line behind me.

I decided there are two things in life that I am not good at and never will be...finishing drywall and golf. Oh yeah, dryer vent installation, make that three things

My neighbor asked me to look at his dryer vent because his clothes weren't getting dry. He gave me a blank look when I asked where his exhaust was and had he cleaned it. I crawled into his crawlspace and found that the builder had run 4 " flex tube from below the laundry room to the back wall of his foundation. (Almost 20 Ft.). It had formed condensation in the tube causing it to sag from the water collection, which in turn caught all the lint, causing more accumulation of weight until fully blocked. I ripped out this flex tube and installed a PVC vent pipe. No more sagging and his clothes dried really fast.

So I read the whole thread and didn't see anyone respond to the original inquiry about "Craft" holsters. Yes, I have several Craft holsters as well as Galco, Desantis, Don Hume, etc. I also have Kydex for various weapons. I have found that the Craft brand holsters are very good quality and I would venture to say comparable Galco. The old Galco, with thicker leather. I like my Craft holsters and the price point is good.

My wife wants a new knife block set for the kitchen. Her only requirements are she wants the steak knives to be serrated and the handles on all knives to be stainless steel. I grew weary looking at all the choices so thought I would seek opinions of those who might have a set on the counter top that they liked. I also appreciate info as to recommended or stay away from. Thanks.
