  1. If I use grease it's usually only on the slide rails. It doesn't seem to sling off the slide and all over me that way. But the majority of the time I just field strip, wipe down and apply more oil.
  2. I run the the medium. But I've never changed mine since I got it. I love my M&P. I'd like Pro some day. Have fun shooting it. I think you chose a great pistol.
  3. UPDATE Got the upper back and ran some rounds through it. Palmetto replaced the Bolt Assembly. All brass ran fine. Mix of FMJ NATO and Soft point hunting. Had one fail to load fully with WOLF steel case. It was the first round from the mag using the bolt catch to release the bolt. This same round failed to eject. Recoil was noticeably less with this ammo. The WOLF steel cases are not as slick as brass. So I'm going with ammo was the issue there. Other than that it ran fine. Again, all Brass case ammo ran fine. Only one issue with steel case.
  4. "Although no one piece of legislation will eliminate all gun violence, this bill will get guns off the streets and keep them out of the hands of people who wish to cause harm,” That's like taking away my shoes, and thinking it will stop me from kicking your A$$. Those who wish to do harm, will do harm. It's just how it is. Why pay them?
  5. I've shot it in 9mm. Seems like pretty decent stuff for the price. Doesn't seem any dirtier or cleaner than the rest. So far it works very well in a G26. Seem of average recoil. For under $10 a box I am not going to complain any.
  6. The 2 I cut last year were not quite as big as yours. I couldnt give them away. Not until I had them cut up in 20" stacked in the front yard. Then everyone wanted it. For firewood. For free of course. I just hauled it to friends house and gave it to him. Anyways. Pretty much everyone wanted it until it was time to pay or work for it. I hope you fair better than I did, it cost me money.
  7. From my understanding Glock made some changes to address some issues. Below is a good read if you are interested. http://looserounds.com/2014/05/10/glock-appears-to-have-made-changes-to-the-g42/
  8. I'd go with the G27. Why? Because I've shot and owned a few. They all shot well for me. And it holds more than 6 rounds. So that takes care of the Smith. As for the Ruger, I've not shot one. So I can't recommend it over the G27. I've not shot a Sig P250. But I've pulled the trigger on them and it wasn't for me. It was too long, I thought. If you what American made and Semi-auto. I would look at an M&P 9c. I really like the M&P pistols. Good luck on which ever you pick.
  9. As of now, I can not recommend Palmetto State Armory. The one I shot would not eject empty cases. I will say that they have GREAT Customer Service. They are paying shipping BOTH ways. They still have the upper now. Haven't heard anything from them yet. But they have only had it 2 weeks now. Here is a post on the problem. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/92393-ar-10-failure-to-eject/ Other than that the only other semi auto I have shot in .308 was an FAL. It shot great. But it doesn't use Pmags.
  10. Nice deer. Very nice deer for your first deer. Hope you get more like it next time.
  11. That is a sweet looking rifle. Looks like it has some serious potential. Have fun shooting. I like it.
  12. Nothing new to update on. The previous owner found his receipt and is going to call Palmetto tomorrow. Palmetto is willing to warranty it, but only with receipt and to original owner. They even offered to pay shipping both ways. No need for me to figure it out if they are will to do it free. Needless to say, Palmetto found them selves a new customer. Can't beat service like that....
  13. Under sprung might be it. I've never messed with an AR10. The buffer and spring seems short for 308. Actually not at all hard to compress.
  14. It's currently an overly complicated single shot paper hole puncher. Lol.... we will get it figured.
  15. Yeah, apparently it ejects, spins, and goes back in. I found a video of the same problem we are having. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56nzgN8SBbI
  16. We tried both 147gr 7.62X51 and Remington 150gr .308 The true .308 had slightly more felt recoil. Thanks for the offer to help look at the rifle. We contacted Palmetto State Armory. They are will into fix the rifle. But we have to have proof of purchase. The person we got the rifle from is supposed to be looking for his receipt. I say we, but the rife is actually a family memebers. I was just invited along to shoot. I have the rifle now, as he let me bring it home to clean it in hopes of it working. A cleaning did not help. I tore it apart. The buffer has no marking. No idea what weight it is. The ejector is really hard to press in. But seems fine. The rife feeds and goes in to full lock with the bolt. All looks fine with the extractor. It will MANUALLY extract a round PERFECT. Here is what is happening. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56nzgN8SBbI
  17. Family member just traded for an PTAC Tac-10. It has a Palmetto State Armory upper. We took it out today and all but one round failed to eject. Once an empty case was completely turned around and stuck in the upper. Primer end toward the chamber....not sure how that happens. Most were empty case in upper with a partially fed round in the chamber. The only time it ejects is on the last round. And it only throws the case maybe 3 feet. The bolt does lock open on last round. So, I don't think it is short stroking. I'm thinking ejector maybe? Tried Winchester 7.62x51 147gr. and Remington 150gr. Never messed with the AR10 platform. Any ideas are welcome. Thanks guys. Hope to get it up and running soon.
  18. I've owned one. I shot 5 different ones. Mine was a .22lr that I later bought a .22mag cylinder for. It shot low. As did 2 others I shot. Better low than high as mine did not have an adjustable rear sight. There for, you could file file the sight if needed. I just held high and left the front sight alone. Accuracy was actually pretty good. I hit 3" spin targets pretty regularly at 15 yards. Never put one on a rest to see true accuracy. It was good enough for me and plinking. Trigger was pretty good on most I shot. One has a bit of creep before breaking. Other than that it was "nice". Not excellent but nice. My friend did dry fire his and it caused the cylinder to peen. You could not load a cartridge. Took a round fire with sand paper and knocked the peened edge off. A was goo again. So don't dry fire it. Yes, I know you should not dry fire most .22lr. He didn't, but does now. Now, my biggest issue was getting a conversion cylinder in 22mag that worked. It took 3 different cylinders before I got one that would lock in place when you pulled the hammer back. It would almost lock in place but stop just short. I tried all the cylinders I was sent in 3 different revolvers. Of the 3, 1 cylinder fit 2 revolvers. 1 fit just 1. And 1 fit all 3. Not sure what the issue was. Manufacturing tolerances I guess? But after I got one that fit all was good. I ended up selling mine. I didn't shoot it much when 22 lr was hard to find. I also like having adjustable sights. Still haven't replaced it with a different revolver. But if I do, it will like be a Bearcat or Single-Six. I'd buy another one, but only if it had adjustable sights. I'd call it good to above average for the money. But if you have more money I'd look are at the Rugers.
  19. Welcome Mr. Henrichs. I've been a YouTube subscriber of yours since you started. Thank you for the history lessons and the training videos. Hope to see you around here a lot.
  20. HMR has been around a long time. I love shooting it. I've found the 17gr. Hornady ballistic tip to be the best in my rifles. It does move quite bit under heavy winds past 200 yards. But after about 175 yards I start moving up to .223 if I can. I know it is considered a "varmint" round. But like anything it has limits. I don't like it for anything bigger than a groundhog past 125-150. Sure it can work for bigger varmints. But the room for error narrows fast at long distances. My vote is HMR. You'll love it.
  21. THANK YOU I don't know how you all do it everyday. I have family and friends that are Police, Fire fighters, and EMT The stuff you guys deal with daily not many people will ever know. I know this might be a strange post. But please know, there are people out there that really do appreciate what you all do.
  22. I don't know. I for see something along the lines of this: Ownership can not be denied. The ability to own it can be denied. As in a high "tax" or fee. It's like most things in life. If you got the money, you got the right.
  23. The local shop is getting some full kydex in next week. I'm going to them first. If that doesn't work I will try an alien gear. They offer a 30 trial. And for the price and reviews I read it is worth a try. Thanks everyone for the help.
  24. I'm lookin for a good IWB holster. I have about decided to go with the alien gear 3.0. But I am concerned that the pistol may wear into the metal interior plate? Or the interior plate my rust after many days with sweat. How concerned should I be with sweat soaking through the back side of leather? Only thing I found local is Galco kinktuk and Bianchi. Both are full leather Is leather that bad to absorb sweat and moister? Stealth gear seems to make a great holster but it is priced up there. I'd be will to pay a good price if I knew it was worth it, it fit me, and durable. Or would a full kydex be the better choice? Only one i found local is LAG Tactical. Went back to try it and they were sold out. As you can tell by now I'm new to carrying. What little I have was OWB and in a universal holster. It was uncomfortable as it pulled the pistol out and away from my body. Does any one make a good OWB and IWB. I value your opinions greatly. I just wish I could try before I buy. So far ordering online is about the only options. Thanks. I want to make the best decision I can based on first hand experience. None of which I have yet.
