  1. I'll have to say they have good customer service. They actually called me back when I left a message. Most other places don't even bother.
  2. 1. Check your grip to be sure it isn't causing the issue. (As others have stated) 2. Check your slide lock for wear. 3. Check the slide where the slide lock catches for wear. 4. Grip the pistol tighter when firing. 5. Use hotter ammo. (124gr. ammo seems to work well in compacts) 6. Check the mag spring. Your slide might be out running your mag. 7. Check follower for wear. Specifically the area that lifts the slide lock. I'm going to guess your issue is like caused by numbers 1, 4, or 5. On a plus note. Smith has great customer service. So if you don't figure out the issue they will take care of you.
  3. I can live with a rattle snake. At least they usually warn me before biting me. Replace the rattle snake with mosquitoes, ticks, and chiggers and lets wage WAR.
  4. I ordered my complete rifle build kit from there. Not a single problem. I would use them again with out hesitation. At the time I ordered my kit it said the it would take about 12 weeks to be shipped. I got tired of waiting and called them to change the options on the build and they sent it the next day. Seemed to be very nice people and easy to contact. Anytime I can call some one and NOT wait 5-10 mins before a HUMAN answers the phone is a +++++ for me.
  5.   I knew of the 2 pin gen 3's, but not of the light issue. Thanks, now I know.
  6. The pin in the 2nd Gens don't typically break that often. I heard reports that after many thousands of rounds they have broken. The round count was so high that at the time (and still) it just about considered normal wear and tear. The reason Glock went to the 3 pin in the 9mm was really because it's easier to produce on frame than 2 different frames. The 19/23 frame is the same. Therefor you can just grab any frame and build it. No need to be caliber specific And the 3rd pin only benefited the 9mm.
  7.   I have to agree that the GP100 is a better shooting platform.
  8.   You aren't kidding on that one.    You might look into the Norris Shooting Range in Norris, Tn. I believe you have to stop by the Norris Police Station for a permit.   You can look here for more ranges in our area.   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/72882-need-a-place-to-shoot-please-help/
  9. Yeah, but if you look at their prices you can see why they have so much. Academy Sports is usually a little cheaper and have "off brand" like Monarch etc. But usually I just go to Wal-Mart. They still don't have alot of ammo, but when they do have what I need it's cheaper.
  10.   I never even thought of that when I posted it. Yikes, that might not be the best logo.  Oh well, I tried and failed but that's the norm for me anymore.
  11. Creatakote Custom Coatings. C³ could be your Logo?   Spell it how ever you like with a "K" if it looks better. and make it K³ for the logo?   I don't do Facebook. Other wise I do the other parts you asked.
  12. I haven't shot many small pistols other than Glock enough to make an opinion on them.   But I XDm for the plinker is you got STOCK. If you are willing to upgrade the trigger I'd go M&P all day. It's a simpler design and not as bulky.
  13. I believe the problem is associated the use of 125gr bullets. I have heard of this load is also notorious for flame cutting on the top strap on some revolvers as well. I have shot MANY rounds of 125gr and not experienced this in my Rugers, but this was before I heard of the issue. In the Smith gun it was believed the cracking was caused by the thinned forcing cone. Example below take notice of the flat on the bottom. If you want an explanation of why this is thought to be happening. See post #6 in the link below. I'd copy it, but want the author to get credit for it. http://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=455649
  14. yes, very good read. Thanks or posting it.
  15. I'm not sure 336 and safe queen even belong in the same sentence. I think the synonym for 336 is "work horse".
  16.  Any reason why? I'd think relocation would be a way to preserve our wildlife?
  17. Might want to reconsider shooting that rabbit IN SEASON as well. Unless you have a nuisance permit. And you can't just buy a permit. You need training in the subject. This comes directly from the TWRA officer I asked about squirrels damaging my brothers home.   Here is a short read on the permit.   http://tennessee.gov/sos/rules/1660/1660-01/1660-01-21.pdf
  18.   I believe he already suffers from some type damage in is palm. I remember him talking about it once in a shooting video. I also think he said it is from shooting a lot of round in "higher" powered revolvers. He even gave a warning that it will happen to YOU if you shoot enough. It's just part of shooting.
  19. It's good you got it off. the info below is only for those that may not know.   I know at one time some sight pusher tools were "breaking" the frame rail slot on the slides. I believe MGW was one. And if one doesn't clamp the slide in a vice properly you can bend the slide rail on some slides enough that you can't get the slide back on the frame. If you use punches and a vice be careful not to distort the sight or the slide.   Here is a short read on the tool I mentioned above. http://forum.snipershide.com/sniper-hide-gunsmithing/198444-m-p-shield-sight-pusher-warning-please-read-if-you-changing-sights.html
  20. I have the XDm in 40 S&W. I shoot it as well as my M&P and Glock pistols in 40 S&W. I've had no issues with it. The grip safety does not bother me at all. I don't even notice it. And haven't had an issue with it. I tend to shoot my Glocks and M&P much more. No reason why. I just do.   It's a mass produced well made and reliable pistol. It really isn't special in any way over the others.   I guess the only bad things I can say about it that it's not as easy to take apart as my Glocks.
  21. I can't say for sure but it looks like they used dogs ( like the one in the picture) These dogs typically tree the cat. The cat wants nothing more to do with the dogs. It has no intentions of coming down to attack you or the dogs. There for a bow is sufficient to kill the cat. So the .223 no doubt has what it take to kill a treed cat. and YES, I've seen a cat just like that one killed with a bow. Not in person but in video. My cousin as well killed a cat and yes, it was with a bow. Yes, it was a guide hunt.   Now I got that out of the way. I agree that if you place the shot right even a cat on the ground can be killed "safely" with a .223. And last but certainly not least. NICE CAT. Tell your cousin congrats.
  22.   You know what they say, if the first words are "I'm not lying" it probably a lie?   But then again, I can believe it coming from you.   Just kidding you Murg.
  23. 10/22's are deceiving. It's not what you pay for it. It's what you spend on it once you get it.   With all the aftermarket parts out there is t is EASY to have 3x what you paid for it in after market parts. Those babies are addicting too, it's hard to own just one 10/22.   As for another "Cheap" plinker.   The Remington 597 mentioned above is great. As is the Mossberg 702 Plinkster. And don't forget the Marlin 60 if you can live with a tube feed mag.
  24.   In that case, I get about 3 extra MecGar mags and you'll have a nice pistols.
