  1. I read that it is a "private museum" on "Leased " property. So that's fine with me. It's their money to do what they want with it. I'd feel the same if the atheist leased the property. If they (the Atheist) don't like it. They should rent the property and build their own Museum on it.   Your money. Your Museum. The amount of visitors will decide it's fate.
  2. I'll just add to the others. Mine look the same as well. Some are worse than others. At one time there was a post on another site where a guy actually called Glock on the issue. They said it was normal and would not cause issues. Some have speculated it is due to the molding process. As the frame cools from the mold it causes this issue with the front of the frame. Which is commonly called the Dust Cover portion of the frame. I have never had a problem due to it yet. Seriously doubt I ever will. There really isn't enough friction between the 2 point s to cause issues. Once the slide goes back far enough it doesn't rub any at all.
  3. It's pretty much a "clone" of a CZ design. The CZ pistol (and that design more so) are know for their reliability. The local gun shop has sold a few. I specifically asked them if they had any complaint or issues with them. They said. "No, other than most people not knowing the name.   I'm not sure if Mags are easy to find for it, so he may want to look. I did a quick search and didn't see any for sale.   I will add that the trigger felt nice on it. And fit and finish looked fine from the outside.
  4. I never knew the term for compressing the spring more than it should have been. They say you should learn something new every day. Now I know the correct term for it. Coil Bind.
  5. A well made spring that has been designed to be left compressed should not "weaken" past the point of with the compression it is intended to hold. Will it shorten or shrink? Yes. But it should have been designed with "point" being a known factor.   I agree with you it does weaken, but it shouldn't "weaken" past a point. If you say the spring has not been compressed much, then that "point" was not right to start with. In the end, it was most likely a cost issue. So your mag spring got cut in the budget.
  6. Most people that switch Glock to M&P's hate the trigger. How ever, most people that are not coming from Glocks like it or are fine with it. I have owned both and both are fine for me. I did kind of hate the trigger because I was expecting it to be like the glock. It's not and that's fine, Shoot it enough and it seems normal, just as the Glock. As far as easier to take down the Glock wins.   I'll take both. they both run fine. Flip a coin. I'll take which ever.
  7. Going on the facts that I know little about snowmobiles   1 How deep of snow can they go in? 2. How easy are they to maneuver? 3. how long would it take to turn around. 4. There was another person behind him. you can see this at the end of the video. Was this guy impeding rearward movement? 5. Was it a family member (a kid) behind him? 6. I'd probably would yelled at the thing to try to get it to "move". I know nothing about Moose. 7. It did charge him. More than once. And did attack him.   Yeah, I probably would have done the same. Based on what I can see in the video. And based on the answers I see here, I'd be strung up and imprisoned. Yikes...... Glade you guys are not game wardens.
  8. If it's a 3MOA red dot then at 100 yards the red dot covers 3". In this case you can pretty much hold dead on ( center dot on center target) according to the numbers Dolo listed. Actually you'll be about 3/4" low at 100, but a red dot is not really for "exact" POA/POI shooting. If it's a 2MOA red dot, that means the dot will cover a 2" area at 100 yards. It would be dead on at 50 yards and hold 1 dot high at 100 and be about 1/4" high.   I will go ahead and point out the likely hood of the numbers above actually working out in the real world are not likely. You're going to need to take it to a range and figure it out. But on paper the numbers above should get you close.
  9. I'm waiting for the government to help me sell my firearms. It won't be long before it is AGAINST the law to sell YOUR firearms with out going through an FFL. That $10 background check will be cheaper than the felony you get hit with when you fail to obey the law. I honestly think this is coming, Sooner than later.
  10.   Unfortunately it would take longer than one term to figure out how to change things for the better. I think that if one were to take a job as any politician in D.C. It would likely be the last job they ever have as it would take the rest of their life to turn things around. And that would only happen if you have what? Over %50 in office agree with you?
  11. Thank you for the helpful info. A family member has a one in 410. It has ran GREAT. Next time I see him I'll look and see if the 410 is the same.
  12. Thanks I appreciate it. I in no way want to to draw an special attention to myself by making this post. Actually a few years ago, I met an older man picking up the banks and he inspired me to do the same. He told me how he enjoyed fishing so much he felt he needed to clean up the banks and river beds so they don't get shut down for the kids to fish in the future.   I still haven't forgotten the old man. He made me enjoy the water and fishing even more.   What made me post it was all the beer bottle I found. No that the water is down some they were every where. I'm sure the trash was there at some time but it was carried down river.
  13. I think you will be pretty impressed once you get a scope in those bases. Nice piece you have there.
  14. I picked up plenty of that stuff too. There used to be a trash can at the place I went to today. But someone felt the need to shoot the can full of holes. Not that the trash can help that much anyways.
  15. Went to a local fishing spot today and cleaned up other peoples trash. I really should have been doing this earlier in the off season. But I just hadn't done it yet. I also want to mention for those of you that may not know. YOU CAN AND WILL GET A BUI (Boating Under the Influence) if you drink on the water. And by all the beer bottles I picked up it looks like it a pretty common problem. If I'm finding them at the BOAT RAMP. I can't imagine all the ones that were sunk. Come on people help keep our waterways clean.
  16. Excel Arms I shot ran fine. I fully expected it to choke. But by the time I was at the end of the 50rnd box I was surprised. I will say I have only shot 50rnds through it so as far as reliability in the long run, I can't say. They even made on in 17HMR, but it FAILED and they discontinued it.   Here is link to an article about it. http://www.gunblast.com/Excel-22Mag.htm
  17. Have tried Boyds Stocks? http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CCcQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.boydsgunstocks.com%2F&ei=QVMFU4zkGaLhsATbyYKYCw&usg=AFQjCNEla6ZyxhFyfxLNNAlbZRCk2W5IjA&bvm=bv.61535280,d.cWc   Their stock are Quality pieces.Seeing as the barrel on that rifle is MEDIUM CONTOUR you may have to go with a Bull barrel stock. Or get a Standard and open up the barrel channel.
  18. Very cool video. Thanks for posting it.
  19. All the above are GREAT answers. If I had an option of NiB over standard I'd go NiB. But if I already have a standard BC, I wouldn't spend the extra money.   Why?, Because I (nor most people) will need it with proper maintenance. NiB should let you get by a little longer in sever shooting conditions and prolong the time between cleaning. It's also easier to clean, so cleaning time is faster.   I guess what I'm saying is, there is no reason not to use a NiB BC, but no reason to buy one unless you need it. This is only my opinion and it's not worth much.
  20. Can you? Yes, but you really need to know what you are fitting and why? If you want a fairly good explanation here is a good read. http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=416928   You will also need to know if your current grips are cut for an Ambi Safety. If not, you could cut them yourself. Or buy them (what I'd do) already cut.   I personally don't trust myself enough to install one. And honestly I would advise you to take t to a professional and have it done. You really can't put a price on SAFETY.
  21. Update:   The problem is fixed. The first issue was fixed when we took the parts out of the frame. The later issue, hammer falling when slide closed, was due to the sear spring (flat spring) falling out and down upon reinstalling. Apparently this is a common issue, especially  when you have never done it before. The smith called and said he knew what it was when he picked it up.
  22.   When I function check the pistol the hammer will fall. With my finger still on the trigger and pressed in, the slide will NOT open.
  23.   I heard that, but it's not a surprise it is Thunderbolt. They might be the worst they make. Remington make great Centerfire stuff. But they don't seem to know much about rimfire.
