  1. Shacklett is definitely great to work with. Also the two problems we had were nothing to do with their work. One was a failed gasket caused by a stopped up catalytic converter the other was a timing issue caused by a faulty distributor.
  2. I see many scenarios that all have the same bleak fight it out kill em all narrative, but could there be a more hopeful outcome. Is it possible more people would come together and survive in a more peaceful manner? Don't get me wrong there would be some real ugliness but for how long. Criminals would run amok but probably not for long being they are really a small percentage of the population and many would die fighting themselves. In the absence of normal civilization would people fall in line doing the tasks they have the ability and knowledge to do? Everyone won't be grabbing a gun and robbing anyone they see. I don't believe more than a few out of every hundred people is even capable of killing in cold blood regardless of the situation. It's not zombies, killing a man, woman, or child for a meal or two is not in our nature. I hope to God the situation never arises that our civilization should fall, but if it did I hope we as humans could better survive by working together and not just pillaging and killing to survive another day.
  3. I would never buy any of my important tools there or any I use on a daily basis I need to last, but otherwise I love Harbor Freight. Anything simple I might only use occasionally or something I know I'm going to break in only a few uses HF is great. I have one of their large orange grinders I've beat on for years and several small stuff like pry bars that I still use and haven't broke yet. I did have a small grinder that went kaput after a few hard uses but I think I only paid maybe $15 for it. 3 ton jack works good for $30 but will slowly leak down. Like others have said most everything is china made anyway. It's staggering the difference in price between a decent tool and a good one. HF ratchet $10, Snap-On ratchet $120. But just so you know my 1930's Snap-On still works good. :)
  4. So a disgruntled postal worker showed up late today mad she couldn't find the house, was working on Sunday, and had a big heavy box to deliver. We were surprised to find it was a big bag of puppy food. Thanks so much 2.ooohhh!!
  5. Wow! I don't think that one needs any changing. That would look real nice with a GT knife in it. :)
  6. Nice work sybo! The dark etching looks great.
  7. Thank you everyone for the kind words. And just so you know after about 336 hours you kind of start to not notice the puppy poop smell. :)
  8. I too needed a new one recently as my old cheap one finally bit the dust. I don't use it often but was going to need one for some AC work. I did a little research and picked up a Mastech from Amazon. It is one with a clamp and can read ohms as well. It works like a charm. Paid around $50. If I used one more often I would have bought a Fluke but for my occasional needs it works great.
  9. It's all up to what you really want. If it was me I'd have it about like the red one Lumberjack posted. Bersa also makes a good point with if it ain't broke don't fix it. I have to have a tire that's more aggressive where we live even though most of the time is spent on paved roads. Just put on some Toyo RTs in a 295/70/17 and so far it's the best ones I've ever had. Really have only run Nitto, Mickey Tompson, and BF Goodrich with zero issues. If you go a little bigger and nothing too crazy it shouldn't make to much of a difference. A Toyo AT or Nitto Terra Grappler G2 would look good. If you want a high mileage tire the Michelin LTX is very hard to beat. Wife just put on Michelin LTX-AT2 and they are really nice. It's just really about what makes you happy, but it sounds like you need some tires. :) By the way treaddepot.com had the best prices online and free shipping on select brands. That's where I got the Toyos.
  10. Just wanted to chime in and thank everyone for all the help. Cooper is doing great and hopefully in a few days can start getting out of his room. Glam is ready for her trip to CT and they even have a foster home ready for her. I'm hoping Ressler and Cooper can play together some soon. Poor Ressler just wants to do some romping, he's going to be a really good boy. I also think he's had enough of the two little pups. Liz and Red are just tough as nails, nothing seems to stop them and they love to crawl all over Ressler. I'm really glad to see them doing as well as they are considering how little and young they were when we got them. Well I guess I better get off here and help MrsMonkey change some puppy pads. :)
  11. Very nice! I like the option to wear it high or low. Maybe add some Chicago screws instead of rivets where the top loop attaches so it could be easily removed if someone wanted.
  12. We are blessed to have room in our home and a great place for puppies to run. Around this area the is a huge amount of animal neglect and I hope we can continue to take them in and help them find great homes. And yes she's a winner, she gets me puppies and guns! :)
  13. I want to thank all of the great TGO members for all their help and good wishes. MrsMonkey took this all on herself and it has been a challenge. Just one look at Cooper makes it all worth while. The little pups are fuzzy and cute and I feel will find much better homes this way, but Cooper and Glam are really special. To see these two that have never know anything other than the animal shelter is amazing. Cooper is more comfortable in his crate where he feels safe than any other dog I've seen. I think it's the first time in his life he can relax. At six months glam is seeing the world for the first time outside of the shelter. I'm really proud of my wife for doing this even after I woke up with a puppy on my face. :)
  14. Wow! That is a very creepy, strange, bazaar situation. I agree with others that it is definitely someone living with one of the neighbors.
  15. Bingo! I must have inadvertently hit one of the filters. All good now.
  16. For some reason it will not work on my account. Works fine on hers. Any suggestions.
  17. I recently lost my comcast email as well. I have not been a subscriber in a while but my email has always worked. I suspect Comcast may have done some house cleaning lately and maybe your account got deleted as well.
  18. Everyone has made great points here. Registering anyone on a list could possibly lead to more pandering to the left. Not the best path possibly. There is a need for better laws against these scums of the earth though. I feel any person that can harm an innocent animal for any sort of pleasure or financial gain is about as low as it gets. As far as tax dollars go I would rather fund some furtherance of their judicial punishment than any more ridiculous sports or tourist attractions in the state. I know it's not the highest on most everyone's crime list but just remember anyone abusing a dog, cat, iguana, horse, cow, chicken, mule, bird, pig, goat, hamster, fish, or any other furry, gilled, hopping, flying, burrowing creature is a sick SOB!!!
  19. So I haven't been as active on here lately because of work and I just got caught up on this thread. MrsMonkey will find this little girl a home in short order but I have to say I am truly sorry for some of you for the horrible things you have seen involving animals. My God I can't even imagine some of those stories. I've had some pretty rough backwoods friends and one of my best friends is from mountain folk but if we ever ran across someone abusing animals of any kind like those stories I'm not sure how bad the beating would be but it would have been pretty bad.
  20. Ha!! I laughed so hard at this...while I was poopin.
  21. Brother I am so sorry to hear this. If there is anything we can do don't hesitate to ask.
