  1. And that is why I use the FCD, much less hassle in setting it up. It seemed like my oal was more inconsistent when crimping using the seating die also.
  2. I picked up a used cz75 p07 duty from buds for $375, I have been shooting that thing more than my 92's lately. Great gun for the money. It is the polymer version, has a pretty good trigger for a gun in this price range, accurate as the 92's as well.
  3. i didn't get the bullet feeder, but I did get the bullet feed die and the tube, I will say don't waste your money on it. I would get about a 50% bullet drop out of it. The other 50% I would just put it in there manually, so I finally just did away with it and moved the seater die there and went back to a lee factory crimp in the last station. The case feeder has some issues as well, such as cases sometimes get behind the plate and knock it off the spindle. I am going to drill and thread the shaft so I can put a bolt on it to keep it down. I do like the case feeder when it works though. Seems like Hornady would have done something to lock the plates down though.
  4. This is what I was thinking as well. I got my finger once, didn't draw blood, but from then on I am very aware of what the right hand is doing before I stick my left one in there.
  5. I just deleted a pic off my phone from last year, that same barrel of 5.56 was $6k. Unreal how crazy it can get sometimes.
  6. Their prices must change daily, I was in there on friday and picked up 2 100 rd boxes of mini mags for 9.99 each. They did have something called cci "green label" in 100rd boxes for $16.99. Never heard of these, they must be plated in platinum or something.
  7. I have 4 of them, 3 standard black 1 green tiger stripped one. no complaints at all on the black ones, but the tiger stripped one has absolutely no anodizing or coating at all on the inside of the lower or upper. Just bare aluminum. I built a 6.8 out of that one and it doesn't get shot much so it shouldn't be a big deal, but I would have thought they should have coated it with something. It sure is purdy on the outside though.
  8. Also the powder through expander die is typically used in some turret or progressive press. My hornady LnL AP uses a seperate expander and powder drop station. I guess you could use it in a single stage, but that seems like a pain in the butt to me.
  9. yes you will have to re-zero, but it will be real close. I have done this before as well, and it was just a couple of clicks off.
  10. Looks like my Tactical is going back. Maybe they will make the trigger better, as the xmp is kind of junky imo. Thanks for the heads up on this, I hadn't heard anything about it.
  11. That is what I was thinking. I don't know why some people have to re-invent the wheel. The roll pin works just fine imo.
  12. The model 92A1 has removable front sights as well. Basically a 92fs with a rail underneath. made in the USA.
  13. Already have a few, and will continue to buy more. Love my Beretta's.
  14. Actually I started mine out with some 150gr Hornady AMAX's that I loaded up and they weren't bad at all, but the 165/168gr (165 Nosler Ballistic tip, and 168 Hornady BTHP) just seemed a little more consistent. Loaded up some 125gr sierra sp just for the heck of it and the groups opened up a lot, not sure why as I didn't load up a lot of them because that isn't what I will be shooting. Anyway enjoy it!
  15. I bought this same rifle a couple of months ago, although I reload, it does tend to favor the 165/168gr projectiles. I saw somewhere else your were thinking about getting a stock for it. I put a Boyd's laminated thumbhole stock on mine. I didn't see any accuracy improvements, but I do like the fact that the Boyd's isn't "sticky" like the Hogue overmoulded stock was. While the Boyd's are not AI's or McMillians the Boyds are cheap, around $100
  16. crossroads in ftn. city/halls has an 8# jug for $230. That puts it at $28.75# which imo is too high for buying 8# at a time, so I passed on it. It was there yesterday if you want it.
  17. Well one thing is for sure, it seems ALL used rifles are way over priced no matter the brand. I think it is a lot of those guys who panic'd and bought high, and now seeing the price on new ones are having a meltdown.
  18. That's funny, owned both, not a whole lot of difference between the two, if any at all. Another funny thing putting a current colt product in the same league as a BCM, or RRA. Go look at some threads on arf.com and check out some of the pics of the "quality" of a colt that is being thrown out the door right now. After seeing that crap I would take a S&W or Bushy over a colt any day.
  19. I have the Lee Loadmaster progressive, and it isn't as bad as it is made out to be. The absolute worse thing about it is the priming system. They have improved it some over some earlier models, but it still ain't perfect. An old timer gave me a tip the other day for it though. He says to buy a spare bullet seating die, take the seating plug out of it and put it in the priming station hole so it basically acts as a guide to keep the shell in place when the priming rod inserts the primer. I haven't tried that yet though. You can also leave out whatever station you want in the lee. For example for .223 I just leave out the first three stations, and just seat and crimp in the last two stations. That saves a little time over just a single stage. I also have a rockchucker that I do all other rifle rounds with, mostly just pistol in the lee progressive, and it works just fine for the money.
  20. It was $70, but I haven't seen any in there since those were there. It was over a month ago.I have been looking, as I will definitely buy some more of those if I come across them again.
  21. I bought a bucket of 1400 golden bullets from gander mountain about a month or so ago. Like the posts above they were absolutely the worst as far as being dirty for sure. But I will say this, they are about the only .22 other than cci mini mags that will reliably shoot out of my wife's mosquito, they also ran through my 10/22 without one problem. The guns didn't really seem any dirtier than usual.
  22. Even just a few hundred through the Lee case trimmer is painfully slow, even when chucked up in a drill. Which you can do without buying anything else, I am not sure why the guy in the video is doing it by hand. I found that mine has a pretty bad wobble to it, the shaft most likely has a bend in it. I ditched that setup for .223 and picked up the WFT well worth the money. I still use the lee trimmers for larger calibers in which I just do 20-100 cases. For the money though the lee trimmers are alright, they were not really meant for speed.
  23. Had an XDm 9 that would do the same if I loaded flat nosed bullets to an oal of 1.130" or longer, round nose was fine at that length but not the flat nosed ones.
